Last week I got a message from the beautiful Dyna .
As per usual,Dyna had made a fab youtube beauty tag and gave me a mention. Thankyou Dyna. This is something I have not done before or should I say tried and failed lol. I did set up everything this morning to do a vlog but the lighting in my home and the camera would just not work as I wanted it to so could not do anything else but to do a post instead, sorry peeps, I did try. Note to husband - Buy me a new camera PLEASE! So anyway thankyou Dyna for tagging me here are your questions with my answers- Tag Questions: 1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep? A- For me I only use one foundation at the moment and that is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in shade Pebble, it last me forever and does exactly what I want it to . I do not have a drugstore foundation as I threw them all out in my clean out the other month but if I had to choose one it would be L'Oreal magic nude, I actually tried a sample of this a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised how brilliant it was. 2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely? A- For some reason people always things I am outgoing, loud and tell people exactly what I am thinking, truth of the matter is I am lol, but I could not physically put someone down for a little lipstick on their teeth. I think it would be hard not to laugh however , especially if the job was for some sort of beauty consultant or so on. 3. You're not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful? A- This is the easiest question ever! Myth by MAC , simple as that. I am addicted to it , using it like a lipbalm or gloss rather than a lipstick . Even when I do not need to top it up , I find myself applying it. Maybe it is not the lipstick shade but more the amazing creamy texture feel on my lips I am enjoying. 4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently? A- Back in my comprehensive years, the first in particular. I asked for a haircut like Naomi Campbell haircut. At the time she had her hair cut short and I looked like a boy when I had mine done. I never really wore makeup until my late teens but wish I knew more about how to apply it then. 5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixi cut. Do you a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mum hysterical b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund. A- This has to be my biggest fear ever. There has been occasions where I have gone to the hairdressers, told them to chop only 1 inch or the dead ends of and came out with a bob. No surprise I was unhappy but never said anything . Now , I always ensure I constantly repeat myself over and over again to them so they do not even touch the length . 6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your makeup bag? A- First of all I do not have any friends who would ever do this for me , lucky if the hubby would even do it for me haha, but if it did happen then I would have to say my Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay. It has been my most loved palette this month and I am always using it for day and night looks . 7. Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What's the product you really hope is safe? A- Again my Urban Decay items and my MAC . Those items are my most loved things in my makeup collection, and the husband treat me to them last month so it would be terrible if they went missing for sentimental reasons (the first ever high end items he has bought me on his own). 8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven't noticed b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs. A- I would never ever share my makeup. I hear so many terrible stories of them been ruined or go missing or worse people catching skin diseases due to sharing the contaminated makeup. So for me I would never ever share my makeup. So there you have it my answers to the questions. Have you any answers that would be different? So as some of you may know , A couple of years ago I started to enter competitions religiously on facebook and twitter. Over the years I have won some amazing items, even won the majority of my wedding needs , like money for my dress, decor, bridal jewelery, shoes ect. I have also won cameras, phones, tumble dryer, so many clothes and jewelry, books, bags, shoes, vouchers, toys, and thousands of pounds worth of beauty products amongst many more things. Over xmas I gave it up. I needed a break with my family and realised I wanted to start blogging and put more effort into that. After feeling rather organised by the end of April, I decided to give it another go and so I thought I would show you what I had won this month. I am actually awaiting some more fantastic things but this is some of the items that have already turned up. This is what arrived in the post this week for me (some items are not shown )
Total = £524.50 I definintely have to say that I have been very lucky , this lot was all won on twitter by using Twitaculous and RT and Follow competitions by following the live stream.
I still have more to come to so far -
So overall in a week , I have won a staggering £770.28 worth of beauty product prizes . I do not get many pennies to treat myself so having competitions like this really does help me out. I have already given three sets of the Little mix makeup collections to my three daughters, the L'Octaine body cream and Clarins double serum is most defininetly the most amazing products so far tried out and I am loving those. I am never ungrateful for free items as you can imagine. I always use everything and If I win something I may not use myself or receive through expecting something else , I will give it to family or friends who will use them. Why not try these sites to enter competitions- Twitaculous Loquax My offers The Prize finder MSE You got to be in it to win it ! There are many others , you just have to look for them , sometimes I receive emails telling me to enter one with certain brands and companies. Do you enter competitions , have you been lucky ? What Optrex has to say - What can Eye Revive Moisture Mist do for me? Modern lifestyles - computer screens, air-conditioning and central heating - can make our eyes drier, leaving them feeling tired and sore. Optrex Eye Revive Moisture Mist has been designed to care for tired eyes so they can feel good again. The convenient mist-on format can be sprayed over closed eyes any time of the day, even over make-up. How does it work? Optrex Eye Revive Moisture Mist works both in the eyes and around the eyes:
How to Use - Before use, please read the information leaflet enclosed.
Hazards and Cautions - Store at room temperature (between 2°C and 25°C). What I have to say about it - First of all I have to say I was really excited while waiting for this to arrive. I have always struggled to sleep and therefore my eyes are continously tired . As soon as the postman passed it into my hands I had to use it straight away , excited to think that my eyes may feel less tired and make me feel more awake after yet another hard night of no sleep . For starters the box instantly stood out , but surprisingly my husband commented on how the colours and style of the box reminded him of the Durex packets when he spotted it on the window sill ,he did get a little shock lol. Haha ,,, ok so they are not exact but I see the resemblance. Anyway less about the humorous of things and lets get to the important things you want to hear about.
Lets start with the Mist itself. I am going to start with the negatives . 1-Price- I am rather disappointed in the ridiculous price. I feel it is way over priced and is therefore not affordable to those who feel they could benefit from it. They should really retail this at £5 or below for what it actually is. I feel we are paying for the bottle not the product. 2- Packaging - The spray bottle is in fact a small solid glass bottle and for me it is something of a bug bear. For me this product is a small product. The glass bottle can not be reused and it seems I am paying for this rather than more product for the price. The lid is also an issue and although it does sit comfortably on top of the spray nozzle , I feel the screw top is so much better especially for those who may need to keep things like this out of reach of younger ones. Like I keep saying , it seems the price we are paying for this is for the packaging and it is way too much for such a small item especially when the ingredients are nothing fantastic themselves. 3- The waste - I am disappointed to hear that you can not use up all the product in the bottle. Supposedly Optrex have acknowledged that there will be product left on the bottom due to the nozzle pipe not reaching the bottom of the bottle. They say they can not make it reach the rest of the product due to it effecting the spray effect itself but have said that they added more product to make up for the loss. Seems a little silly to me , is that not just waste? I hate waste! 4 - Smell - The smell is terrible. I do not know exactly what I was expecting from an eye mist but this is most definitely not it. I think it actually smells like a three day old doughnut and not the delicious type . It smells rather foisty . 5 - Nozzle - The spray nozzle works fantastic but in fact sprays way too wide than needed. When I spray this on my eyes I do not expect to have to wipe it from my ear or forehead . I know I think I have been harsh as there is not much left to like is there? So what are the good points? 1 - Size- This is small enough to carry with you where ever you need to take it.It is very handy . 2- Easy and quick- The spray is easy and quick to use . The nozzle ensures that the spray is released with the first pump of the nozzle . 3- Hydration/cooling- I find this has an instant cooling effect that feels as though my eyes and around the eyes are instantly refreshed. 4- Safe to use- This is safe to use with contacts and can also be used while wearing makeup. Overall my thoughts on this is not so great. I have tried this everyday now and although I think it does refresh my eyes it does not make them feel more awake . I think the same effect could be achieved by spraying cool water on my eyes as this is the same effect I am feeling. The cold spritz refreshes my eyes, not the product. The tiredness does not go away and I feel the effect is not as good as the drops . I would not spend my money on this product at all and find it a total waste of time . Have you tried this product or will you be? I would be interested to see if others had a better experience so please share your thoughts. I have just had a twitter message saying my blog had been added to the ''Top 100 Beauty blogs in the UK '' and it has truly made my day.
