I have been using a new tool for my hair this past week and I thought you would be interested in it also , especially if you are trying to get an easier straighter look with your locks without the use of hot iron hair straighteners so here is my review on the Straight 'N' Go Hair Straightener Brush from Highstreettv.com When I received this through the post , I was unsure what it actually done . I could clearly see it was a clamp style hair brush , but how I used it and when, was the uncertainty. Luckily for me , there were some instructions included and with those life saving diagrams added to the written instructions, it made things a lot more easier for me to give them a try . For me, I have very long and thick hair so from washing to styling my hair , it can take up to two hours before the process is complete which as you can imagine with being mum to 7 ( and one on the way) it can be a lot of time taken up, especially when I have not got much time to spare . The only time I get to really enjoy that length of time to pamper myself or do my hair is while the children are at school as even on the afternoons, by the time I have made teas, homework, showered and put the tribe to bed, its too late to be even bothered to mess about and it often feels more of a chore than a treat which I really wish it did not. What do they say about this product? (QUOTE) Straight 'n' Go is the amazing new hair straightening brush that makes straightening your hair at home a breeze. The dual-sided ceramic plates work with your hair dryer heat for fast drying that ensures a smooth and sleek straightening performance. The vented design allows air to circulate freely through the brush for fast dying. How to use -
On either side of the brush there are vents which you can use your hair dryer against . My Thoughts - My first thoughts (except how I actually used them) was that I liked the bag that they came in, I love how they have their own pouch to store them away in just like my hot iron straighteners and hot curling iron, it means it can go neatly in my drawers with no worry of getting anything in the bristles which is one of my bug bears. I was sent the black brush but it is available in Hot Pink also which if my daughters had the option to have these , the pink would certainly be their first choice. For £9.99 the price is actually pretty good considering my usual hair brush costs this anyway and if you don't want the damage of Hot electrical straighteners and looking for something to save using them then this is a great idea. You can buy these from Argos.co.uk as well as Highstreettv.com Usually if I was not using my hot iron hair straighteners I would use a paddle brush to get that straight finish on my hair , I find that the paddle brush straightens them out rather than a round brush which is ideal for curling hair. The problem I have is that my hair is too thick so when I try to grab the hair with my usual brush , it releases on its own will and I tend to struggle to keep it in place whilst getting the hot air of the hair dryer at the same time, if only we had more hands ! The Straight 'N' Go hair straightener brush is very easy to use and also hold in the hand and in fact with only a nipping action with just two fingers, you can get an easy grip of the hair in between the brush. On the outside of the brush head, there are solid plastic bristles and the centre of the head of the brush is then filled with interlocking bristles which not only helps with the grip but gives a smooth and healthy shine to the hair. The ceramic plates on the inside of the brush make it easier for the hair to glide at ease and also heats up with help from the hair dryer giving that extra boost to help straighten . The best thing for me though is that it is cordless , safe and best of all not damaging to my hair . I found that having short handles , just like a usual brush helped me to get a better aim to where the hair needed most attention and although I needed to use heat on the end of it, I had no aspect of burning my hands what so ever and the result of frizz seems to have been lessened when I use this brush. To get that crisper straighter look, I used this with the hot iron straighteners but now I feel more comfortable just using this instead and as intended , it saves me more time and gives a more natural look to my finish rather than that fake straightened look which I do believe was out of fashion quite a few years a go now , its all about natural looking big hair and although my hair is not big it looks healthy and straight but not ironed. So I am having a great experience with this product, but what do you think , would you give this a try or go back to the hot iron straighteners?

Yes , I can not believe myself that I am actually doing this. Permanantly colouring my hair for you to find out if this new Bblonde Ombre Kit is worth buying. I have recently expressed my concerns over colouring my hair after my last disaster with home colouring over 5 years ago with a different brand. Feeling like my hair was looking a little dull in colour and having the opportunity to test out one of the new trends I have been drooling over lately , I kind of dropped heart on my past experience and thought it was worth a try and Jerome Russell's Bblonde Ombre Kit No2 Was my choice. Can be bought from Boots.com What they say about this product - Maximum Ombré Kit No.2 Permanent lightener for blonde to medium brown hair - lifts up to 6-7 shades. Create your own professional Ombré look with Bblonde Maximum Ombré Kit No.2

Before I even contemplated on applying this Permanent colouring to my hair , I ensured I had read all of the instructions which were easy to read and understand and of course done a test patch the night before to make sure I had no reaction to the ingredients. After finding that there was no reaction and a little sleep to ensure this was something I really did want to do , I woke up and immediately got started. Past experiences reminded me of how much work actually goes into home colouring , all the mixing products and separating hair and then the tirelessly removing products and adding another but this looked so simple , it should not take any longer than an hour for my desired shade to be achieved . I firstly brushed mu hair and seperated it into two side section which was then applied with the blending lotion evenly . My hair was dry so Ii could tell where the product had been reached and where I had to pay extra attention to. Ok I have to admit , I was a little shocked to see the Bleaching Powder. Ever worried about having green hair? Well with me being blonde and looking at a blue mix ,that worry was the first thing that ran through my head. I can not remember when I have ever seen Bright blue powder, but I continued as instructed and mixed it with the Cream peroxide. Before the process was started I thought I would share with you how uneven my hair colour actually is. This is my natural hair . No colouring what so ever buy you can see that I have very dark shade spots which come naturally . The top of my head and under layers seem to be darker than the top layers and I have always wanted a lovely light blonde shade all over , even and brighter. With the Ombre kit, you are meant to apply the shade , somewhat 1-2/4 from the top of your head so I started to apply the blue mix 1/4 of the way leaving the top of my hair clear from any product. I was thinking that because the colour was applied evenly that the colour would be the same all the way from start to finish from where I had applied it , not sure how this was going to give an Ombre effect . I left the mix on my hair for 1 hour as it stated that it should be left 15 - 90 while checking every 15 minutes to see the effects. To be honest , I do think 1 box for my hair was not enough, I should have really used two with my hair being thick and long but it still took effect and the colour lightened dramatically and so after 1 hour I rinsed it all off and dried my hair . I have to say that I had no irritation what so ever, the smell of the peroxide is of course not pleasant like all hair colourings but it was bearable and I have smelt stronger odours from other brands which have turned me dizzy , this did not. Once I had dried my hair , I could then see the full finishing effect the Bblonde Ombre had on my hair . The different shade from top to bottom was visible and the lower part of my hair had in some places turned almost white. The ombre effect was not as blended as I would have hoped for but the shade was lovely, although I do think I should have tried another application to lighten it even more as one box was not enough to cover my hair completely . You can see here the before and after look of Bblonde Ombre Kit 2. For me I am very pleased with the results.
Bblonde Ombre Kit no 2 was definitely a great choice and although my hair does need two boxes to get the desired effect , I would happily buy this product and use it again . My hair does not feel dry from the colouring and it actually feels very soft and solky with a reduction in frizz to my surprise also. My hair looks highlighted with one box but I can imagine it looking even , which I would of preferred with the right amount used. What are your thoughts on Bblonde Ombre , would you try it ? *This post contains PR samples. There is one part of my routine which I merely always forget to tell you about and that is styling. As you may have noticed , I go through many different styles from sleek straight to full on bouncy curls but most days I sit with a bobble in and have it tied up out of the way due to the fact my hair , unless styled with a hot iron , is thick , dull looking and rather frizzy to say the least. It takes me only 30 minutes to wash and dry my hair these days with the amazing new hair dryer which I am in love with '' The Ego Evolve '', it literally dries my hair in only minutes and for me , it has become my saviour in saving time. The thing that really takes time up in my day when it comes to hair is actually the styling. I have endless amounts of products on products but the fact of the matter is they simply leave my hair feeling hard or looking solid or sometimes even greasy like and very unlike the salon look you see advertised on the T.V. The past week , I have been testing out a new hair product ''Color WoW One Minute Transformation Styling Cream'' Who are Color WoW? Gail Federici, co-founder of John Frieda’s hair care company is the one behind Color WoW and worked hard to address the formula of hair products in order to fix those blonde , frizzy hair moments. DR Joe Cincotta formulated Color WoW and Color Wow is now a complete range of new technologies that resolve problems which come with colour-treated hair. No more roots..ever! No brassiness, dullness or fading! No dry or dull texture! Less money, less stress and strain on the hair, fewer salon appointments. What is Color Wow One Minute Transformation Styling Cream for ? Well basically it tells you in the title, no hidden agendas other than giving you that transformation of looking healthier and glossier and frizz free . The great thing about it though that it is to be applied to dry hair for instant effect. Here's how to use it - • Apply to dry hair by working the cream through the hands then work it through each section of the hair by then brushing it to transform damaged-looking, distressed hair into liquidy-smooth, silky hair with healthy-looking shine • For a quick fix or restyle, apply to any unruly areas/morning bed head and blow-dry in sections. • A lightweight blend of humectants penetrates frizzy, brittle hair to replace natural oils lost during chemical treatments, blow-drying and daily stress. • Hydrate dry hair anytime, anywhere to instantly refresh style. • Does not contain waxes or emulsifiers. Ingredients- Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Phenyl Trimethicone, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glyceryl Stearate, Isostearyl Palmitate, Pvp, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Triethanolamine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Dmdm Hydantoin, Parfum (Fragrance), Sorbitan Oleate, Myristamidopropyl Pg-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Stearyldimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Butylene Glycol, Linalool, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Sodium Chloride, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Citronellol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Bht, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide. I have to admit , before using this cream , I was very sceptical because creams on my very thick hair usually tend to make my threads look very greasy and wet looking . After a week of using it , I am now addicted . Having very long thick hair , I had to use three pea size amounts to cover my locks but it will all depend on your own length and style as to how much you will need. I found it so much easier to work through a section at a time , using a big round bristle brush then going over it with a hair dryer. I was very surprised by the texture and feel of the cream but I honestly expected something sticky and heavy . I was gob smacked when I placed the small pea sized amount onto my palm and then working through my hands, I noticed how soft and light it felt. No sticky feeling what so ever and no oil left over on my palms which only meant one thing , no greasy looking , hard looking hair . Working through my threads , I was amazed at the instant effect it had on my hair. My hair was smooth , silky soft and looking brighter . The cream can be used on wet hair but I prefer the results so much more by adding it to dry hair. My hair has been so dull lately now that there is no sunshine to give it its healthy highlighted look but since using the Transformation cream , I have been getting so many comments regarding how revitalised and healthy looking it is, especially when I have just blow dried it . Being a styling cream, I was honestly expecting it to be stiff cream and it was not at all, the cream merely give it that sleek shine but does help keep the hairs shape better when used with a hair dryer or even hair iron or curler , instead of that harsh looking style though it achieves a natural looking finish which for me is exactly the look I am after . All in all , I am very surprised by this product and in fact shocked by its fantastic texture and how it leaves my hair looking . I now use this every day so to get rid of that morning bed head hair look and it takes no time at all , just by adding a small amount to my hair and brushing it through. The scent of it is also very nice, not over powering or smelling like chemicals but subtle and calm . Cost - £16.50 - 120ml I have not got colour treated hair but I am going to be testing out a new Ombre Hair colour tonight (so keep an eye out for that post ) so I can see this being a huge part of my everyday routine as they say it helps coloured treated hair from being dry and keeping its colour. This is definitely one hair cream I will recommend , especially if you colour your hair or suffer with dry, frizzy hair. *This post contains PR samples.
Why am I reviewing this product ? Ok , I have been rather excited to share something with you because it was only last year I was begging Neal & Wolf , my most loved hair care brand , to bring out a body fragrance and I am happy to say I finally got my hands on it after the wonderful brand sent me one last week. I have been using their hair care products, shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, heat defence, shine spray and even the most delightful candle of theirs sits in my beloved spot so I can enjoy that to . I have said on many previous occasions that Neal & Wolf compares to no other brand and in my opinion it is the best my hair can get . I often find myself comparing hair products to this brand in previous reviews because it is my one and only favourite. Neal & Wolf shampoo and conditioner is the only shampoo I will use religiously , and once a month , their hair mask, (unless trying out a new one to review ) , I spritz my hair daily with their shine spray and always use their heat protection before I use hot irons or curlers . The products always leave my hair feeling the softest and conditioned , and for me , someone who has struggled for many years to achieve an effortless look straight from washing and drying it , It always leaves me feeling happy and smiling for days , in fact if I am honest I will be waking around wafting its amazing scent in peoples noses . So as you can see this is something I am very excited about but let me share it with you by giving you a peak at it. About the product - AURA - Hair & Body Fragrance NEW! My Thoughts on the AURA Hair & Body Fragrance - Did you know that 75% of emotions are triggered by smell? they shape our preferences and can improve our mood when our brain recognises a pleasant fragrance. Neal & Wolf’s signature scent is a big part of the brand's identity as it bursts with mandarin and orange blossom until it melts into floral aromas of lily, ylang-ylang and orchid. Fragrances develop differently on different skin types and we all have our own favourites. For myself, The Neal & Wolf aroma sets of a romantic and sensual feeling . The scent is just devine and I seem to melt at its every spritz . It seems to have an effect on my husband to as I have found when I wash my hair or spray on the Hair and body fragrance , he seems to potter around me giving me more hugs and whiffing the air loving its scent to. Big longer lasting fragrance tip! I always find that exfoliating your skin keeps your skin fresh and revitalised but with fragrances it also helps to keep the scent longer lasting . I have been enjoying wearing this fragrance and I find I only need a small amount , one or two sprays on the body and one for the hair . This is priced at only £20.95 which to me is very affordable for a fragrance compared to other brands but do not let the smaller price tag deter you from believing it is any less valuable. In my opinion this is with no doubt my most loved scent . It holds its aroma for a vast amount of time, in fact , I can constantly smell it on my skin but then again using the hair care products , I find this benefits me and enhances the scent to last even longer. This bottle is no doubt going to last me a very long time . Using fragrances on my hair has been fund to be a pain sometimes. I have been using another brand which seemed fabulous but weighed my hair a little and made it look a little greasy. The Neal & Wolf body and hair fragrance is exactly what my hair needs, it is weightless, leaves my hair looking as it should with no effect to the look and finish but after a quick spritz , my hair smells amazing , just as if I had just washed it with the shampoo and conditioner from them . I do not need to tell you how much I love this , but you can always find out for yourself by checking out NealAndWolf.com and taking a peak at their wonderful products and giving them a try yourself. I have to admit , their products can always be found in my bathroom and I have bought them continuously for a few years now, so if I love them, I know you will to. What are your thoughts on Hair fragrances, have you ever gave them a try ?
My hair is one of my most important features, on the days where I do not feel like putting makeup on or wearing something pretty , just having soft shiny , healthy looking hair changes my whole appearance. The one problem I have suffered with for almost as long as I can remember is the weakness in my hair and the irritation of the scalp which usually comes with weather change. For the past week I have been using Dabur Vatika Naturals . I am not sure what happened but I was using the Kerastase Elixir Ultimate and I was loving how soft my hair was feeling after ,but the other week I went out shopping and my scalp felt so sore and irritated after using it. I had used it beforehand many times and loved how it was making my hair feel but for some reason my scalp was starting to become irritated , flakey and suffering . I spent the whole day not being able to touch my scalp , it felt really sore and I could not deal with the pain any longer. Needless to say , I had to stop using it and look for another shampoo to replace it. A couple of weeks a go , Dabur Vatika Naturals on Twitter offered me a try of their brand and I gladly accepted. These are the products they sent me - The Almond Enriched Hair Oil- £4.49 Available from Superdrug What they say about their Hair Oil- Give your crowning glory oodles of style and appeal with Dabur's latest natural wonder Vatika Enriched Almond Hair Oil. Packed with the nourishment of almond and the power of nature's treasured herbs like hibiscus, olive & muskroot, Vatika Enriched Almond Hair Oil is the perfect remedy for all your hair woes. As compared to ordinary almond hair oils, Vatika Enriched Almond Hair Oil has superior nourishment properties that make your hair 2X stronger and 30% thicker. It also fights dandruff with its two active natural ingredients and keeps your hair smooth & silky. Ingredients- Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Canola Oil, Elaeis Guineensis Oil, Sesamum Indicum Oil, Olea Europea Fruit Oil, Phenyltrimethicone, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Perfume, Butyl Methoxydibenzoyl Methane, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butylated Hydroxy Toluene, CI 47000, CI 26100 My thoughts on this product- My first opinions on this hair oil is that the bottle looks pretty simple, the description on the front is in a language I can not understand although there is a small sentence on the back in small writing giving me a little of the products details. The clear bottle is filled with a yellow / orange toned oil with a screw off cap lid. To me the cap would be far better if it was a flip lid with a smaller release for the oil . I find pouring the oil out of the bottle is a little over whelming, the hole is to large and I find I either lose half of it with overspill or use way too much causing waste. The oil it self has a thin consistency, not like other oils I have used but this seems to work well as it soaks into my hair a lot easier . There is no sticky or greasy feeling, in fact if I put a little of the oil on my skin it soaks in wonderfully and leaves my skin feeling amazingly soft and dries quickly . I am thinking, ''If this brand made body oils I would certainly be interested in giving them a try as I love how it left my hands feeling afterwards''. The scent of the Oil is something I actually like but know many may not due to the fact it smells of new baby almost ''Johnsons shampoo'' range but not as strong. I love the aroma, it is subtle but stays for quite some time. After Applying the hair oil to my scalp to see if the irritation I had been suffering with would be helped or eased , I found a sudden relief and decided to leave it in my hair for an hour with a warm towel wrapped over the top. It is advised to leave on overnight but for me I simply can not as I wash my hair very late on so having it on for only an hour works just as well for me. I dryed my hair with a hair dryer to dry it up a little quicker due to it being a late night and have to say it felt amazing. I sat throwing my hair in my husbands direction , whisking it back and fourth and giving a little shake and to be honest it would not even flip . There was no weight in my hair at all, it felt fantastically soft and just bounced back to my head in no time. I had no need to apply any other product to give it a shine as the oil had brightened my blonde shade and left it looking so healthy with a natural shine. Considering the oil was left on my hair , It did not look greasy at all which surprised me , it looked great. Overall the oil is a fantastic buy. The price is affordable and I have since placed the oil into a different bottle to rectify the overspill with a bottle that has a smaller release for the oil. I have used this 3 times in nearly two weeks now and the bottle is looking slightly used as I only need to add a small amount to cover my long thick hair . The fact that this oil is non irritant means I get no itching from using it , my scalp is back to being healthy and looks so more nourished . I would definitely recommend trying this hair oil if you suffer from irritated / dry or sore scalp, it instantly eased my problem and I am already stocking up so I do not run out and feeling the benefits of having a healthy scalp . If your hair is becoming a little dull, especially over these cold months , this is also fantastic to have to brighten up your hair colour and give it a summer shine , for me it wins for restoring my scalp to its healthy state. Sweet Almond Moisturising Shampoo- £3.49 Available from Tesco What they say about their Shampoo- Dabur Vatika Naturals Sweet Almond Moisturising Shampoo is ideal for dry, frizzy coarse hair. Enriched with select natural extracts, this shampoo makes your hair smooth and shiny without weighing it down. HENNA: natural shine enhancer and conditioner. yoghurt: maintains moisture balance and gives nourishment to dry hair and scalp. Ingredients- Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Carbomer, Dimethiconol (and) TEA - Dodecylbenzenesulphonate, Cocamide MEA, Ethylene Glycol Distearate, Trimethylsily Amodimethicone (and) Laureth - 7 (and) Laureth - 5, Perfume, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Chloride, Methyl Paraben, Propylene Glycol, Quaternized Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) Polymers, Acrylamide Copolymer, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Propyl Paraben, Tetradibutyl, Pentaerithrityl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Honey Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Extract, Lawsonia Inermis Extract, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Butylphenol Sulfonate, (and) Buteth - 3 (and) Tributyl Citrate, Yoghurt Extract, FD and C Yellow No. 6 (CI 15985) My thoughts on this product- The thing I love about this product straight away is the shape of the bottle , it is thin to hold in the hand and has a fabulous flip lid which to me makes things a lot easier while in the shower . The bottle is a pale mint green and has a vibrant orange lid showing the product holds the Almond ingedient. The shampoo is aimed for those who suffer with dry , frizzy and course hair which is everything my hair is and more to the point everything I do not want my hair to be like. Having help in restoring shine and moisture to my dull ageing hair , this also adds the smooth look which is something I struggle to achieve even with straighteners most days. The colour of the shampoo has that Almond , golden orange shade to it , it looks silky and there is only a very slight sticky feeling to it . I do not seem to get a massive lather but having less lather in my eyes means less sulphate which is always good for my hair. The scent is totally different the pairing Hair Oil which was Baby Shampoo scent, this shampoo has a sweet tangy scent. It is a mix of yoghurt and honey and I love how fresh it is , awaking my senses it lifts my mood instantly. The silky shampoo cleans my hair without stripping it totally which is something I do look for in a hair product, I hate that feeling of totally squeaky clean hair, nourished and clean is how I expect a shampoo to feel . Having used this alongside the Almond Oil I was unsure as to how it would improve my hair even more but there was a slight difference in the feel to it, my hair felt a little thinner, it left me feeling like I had literally stepped out of the salon. If you do not know what I mean, I mean that feeling like you have no hair left and there is simply nothing there, it was strange but I simply felt like my hair had no weight at all , amazing. There has to be a special type of product that makes me want to buy them over and over but this is very close to one of my other most loved brands and for not being known very well it is getting a huge thumbs up from me. For taking the weight off your head and bringing life back into that flat fuzz, I would recommend the shampoo. Conclusion-
Having tried both the Almond Enriching Hair Oil and the Sweet Almond nourishing Shampoo both together , I have been left very impressed, especially due to the affordable price and ingredients which has done my hair the world of good. My hair is feeling heavenly at the moment and since using them I have had no sign of irritated or sore scalp plus my hair is looking soft and feeling invisible . Have you tried this brand yet, what do you think? |
