It took no time what so ever to peel the seal from the back of the gem sticker strips and stick them to the side of the glass and once I had ran out of them it looked fantastic . On my previous post over at Mmummy of 7 Blog, I recently posted about a product that included these Gem sticker strips which luckily I had lots spare of and so these were my first choice of item. I love sparkle . Ok, so I am not the most creative person and since moving into my new home , I have opened my eyes to a while array of designs that are been thrown upon me . At the weekend , my husband went and bought me a new treat, something which I had asked for for quite some time but until we had moved was actually impossible to get due to the size of the thing. Being a blogger, I am forever been told that my stuff is all over , if it is not notebooks and pencil cases , it is makeup or body creams and all sorts of other beauty products which takes over so much room and so my husband bought me the Alex Linnmon from Ikea in White for my bedroom, giving me the perfect vanity / work station. It really is a fantastic desk and with 10 fantastic sturdy, deep and great sized drawers, I was in my element organising all my makeup into them . The only problem was that being new in a new home, the desk top looked a little bare and so I thought It would be a great idea to grab some things handy around the house and try and jazz it up a little . On searching for something which would come in handy, I really thought it would be a great idea to have something which would hold my pens and highlighters, something I am forever using on an hourly basis , here is what I came up with. Having all my pens in the glass it really did look great and being right next to my window , when the sun hit those gems , wow , it looked even more great, although I don't feel very creative usually, this was a very surprising little creation I felt proud of and if I get more sticker strips , I can make more for my makeup brushes . Not sure what I will be doing next but just remember , you don't have to be creative or have lots of creative things in the home to make things look good, work with what you have and style it how you wish .
You never know what the result will be, what do you think of my creation? Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Ok these cold days are becoming a little boring to say the least and I for one need a break from the social media I am continuously on during the day so when I was asked to review a Jigsaw or puzzle as Ravensburger.com call them, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that a New 1000 piece was being sent to me. I can not actually remember the last time I sat down and completed a puzzle, in fact the last one I had this size was back in the 90's so I knew I was being challenged. Ravensburger.com are not new to me, I have children and family games in our home and also a children's jigsaw with the famous Frozen theme that everyone seems to be going crazy over lately (bet you are excited there is another one coming soon ) . As I geared myself up to give the Puzzle a try , I had a feeling , like a need to prepare myself as If I was running a marathon which made me feel like I had failed before I had begun. Lets face it I've never completed one since I was a teenager. So let's take a look at my challenge ahead - Heroes and Heroins 1000 piece Ravensburger Puzzle. Cost - £11.99 Available from Jigswapuzzlesdirect.co.uk What they say about this puzzle - This richly illustrated design is inspired by some of the world's greatest love stories. This unique bookcase is alive with characters taken from over 3000 years of myth, legend, fiction and fact. Our depicted sweethearts are (from top left) Aphrodite and Adonis, Romeo and Juliet, Anne and Gilbert, Antony and Cleopatra, Gatsby and Daisy, Guinevere and Lancelot, Robin and Marion, Marguerite and Armand, Christine and Erik, Heathcliff and Cathy, Elizabeth and Darcy and, finally, Rhett and Scarlett. This jigsaw puzzle has 1000 pieces. Suitable for Adults. 27 x 20in / 70 x 50cm. The scene on this puzzle is a stunning theme of Heroes and Heroins although myself , I can not see why . For me , it looks more of a prince and princess setting which is pictured from a fairytale and it shows different sets through the centuries which is nice to see showing that they are not concentrating on once specific era. The Self-taught artist is American Aimee Stewart and her literature and musical inspired style captivates exciting themes of magical enchantments and detailed portraits. Ravensburger have some amazing quality puzzles and this is definitely a far cry from the tired , dull and rather cheap feeling paper ones I used to enjoy as a teenager. They have an extensive range of designs and you can even pick up 3D puzzles and also ones that light up . I was truly ready to start with the puzzle and prepared my kitchen table for the space I spent the best part of my dinner time separating all of the pieces of edges and inside pieces then started to put the pieces together. Now I do not know if it is me and my terrible puzzle skill , or lack of , but I got the edge finished off to then find an extra piece? I know, it must be my terrible perception of the outside edge and I must have not put it together correctly , I simply can not find where I went wrong, can you? After realising my love for puzzles were just not as I thought it would be (well not at at this difficulty), I decided to wrap it all up and pass it along to my mother in law who enjoys puzzles more and even puts them into frames if she likes them that much. The Puzzle was great fun (well the edge) I think I may be a little impatient for things like this but the puzzle itself was of excellent quality, definitely worth the price .
I think what attracts me most with this design is the magical enchantment in the theme with its electric colouring. I just wish I could actually complete it but at the moment I simply have no patience or space while I am in the process of packing up the house ready for a possible move. What do you think of a good puzzle, do you like a challenge? It has been one whole week and Bear is most certainly taking over the household already. Still small and holding her cute little face and peering at us with her blue eyes and fluttering lashes, we do find ourselves still getting all besotted with her but there is someone on our household who is not willing to let her get away with everything , especially when it comes to teddy. Bear spent the best half hour this morning , tugging and chewing on her favourite shoe of the house, my Ugg boots! Needless to say I am not impressed that she has chosen my most comfiest footwear to teeth on but it keeps her quiet and stops her chewing on my Sofa or any other furniture in the home . After sitting quietly , giving me a little break to enjoy a cup of tea in quiet , the man of the breed came into have a nosey . Each morning , we have this little mad hour which always seems to involve Bear and Tyson, the teenager of the three dogs. We have come to realise that Roxy our golden shaded, long haired German Shepherd is way to lazy and getting rather old for jumping about . She most certainly is the type who would rather have a pamper session than be bouncing about over a ball or a tug toy, whereas Tyson is only a couple of years old , still a baby really and he loves running about chasing things and acting like a hyperactive adolescent so having Bear at home now has given him a whole new fun and exciting experiment . As Bear found that Tyson had spoilt her peace and quiet with the Ugg boot , she stood her attention to spoiling his fun of quiet and her attention swept from my Ugg to the Teddy that sat in the middle of the sitting room floor . Let the war commence over teddy! Tyson thought he could get one over on Bear by jumping with Teddy onto the Sofa , unfortunately he forgot that Bear was Growing so quickly she could now reach him and the teddy although not quite get onto the sofa itself . Dropping the Teddy onto the floor where Bear was, Tyson then held it with his paw in hope she would feel threatened with his glare . She soon started voicing her opinion and made her move . She was getting very fast , but Tyson was quicker and he knew it as he quickly grabbed it back into his possession away from the little terror and this time he would learn from the last attempt that he had to stand between the Bear and his Teddy if he was going to keep his toy. Bear just stood staring in wonder as to how and when she would be able to take it from his grasp . The lesson we have learnt this week is that although Bear is growing , she clearly still has a long way to go before she can even be anywhere near ruling the house and just like we do with our children , these young pups need to learn to play nicely and share .
So , going about my normal day and the door goes. I take the post from the Mr holding it out to me and I look at the white envelope in wonder of what on earth it could be whilst I try to open it on walking in to the sitting room. ''What on earth is this?'' I simply let out an immense laughter but then holding my breath with shock once I noticed what it was , I sat down. ''My own calender featuring ,,,,,,,,,,ME!'' OMG, this has to be a laugh , I kept telling myself , then I take a quick flick through the pages and realise , no someone is most certainly having my life , my face does not even match the bodies that my head had been placed onto , it aint even my body but I wish I did have a body like that lol. Please don't laugh , Ok do! It is hillarious now I have got over the shock of it all , here Is my calender . So I know I am not exactly the hotty of the calenders but wow what a cheery bit of post I had.
What was the strangest thing you ever received in the post and not knew it was coming? Ok , earlier last year , you may remember that my husband was going all goo gaa over wanting another baby, well nothing much changed up untill Christmas and when he decided to inform me he wanted another German Shepherd pup and I told him , NO! There really is no chance that I want any more babies , being mum to 7 already is pretty darn mental already in my mind, but he tried to make me believe that I was able to cope with a new pup instead. So I sat him down , told him my pro's and con's and of course the blue eyes fluttered at me and I gave in after three hours telling him he was not getting one . I know I am terrible, I simply can not say no, I love my husband and he does get everything he wants , usually with no effort at all , but given the choice of a puppy or a real baby , I simply gave in and let him have the Puppy. He sat looking for some cute little fur balls on the social networking sites and sales pages and with in only 1 night he had one litter picked and I was soon in the car taking a trip to go take a look , putting down a deposit and meeting its parents and home. This was our visit to see the pup at only 4 weeks old. Ok , I know I originially said no and I tried so hard not to like it so much , but look at it. We walked in and all the little pups ran around our feet but this little one was the biggest there (the thing my husband looks for in a German Shepherd) and the only white one. Wanting to make sure we chose a female because we already had a male who had been castrated and the female who was not , it seemed fitting to choose another female. We had already heard that white German Shepherds are frowned up on due to the fact white is not there usual breed colouring , but we loved her even more because of it and due to the fact we already have two older ones , one a full long haired breed and the other half breed short haired, we took to her the most and decided to put the deposit down instantly . Amazingly this little pup was so independant that she was already feeding herself on dry food and because it was Christmas the lady seemed fine to let her go 2 weeks earlier than the usual expectancy. I told the lady I would come back to pick her up Christmas Eve . We still had a whole two weeks before being able to take her home which to no surprise aggravated my husband which in turn annoyed me due to him moaning on he wanted to take her home right that instant. Tough ! It was in fact the day before Christmas Eve where my husband finished work early , knew exactly what he was trying to do , pick the pup up early and of course with it being Christmas , let him , but not before we went to get her new things , certainly a new cage to train her for her sleeping pattern and also stopping her from chewing on things while we left her home to go out on occasions. Once he had managed to get everything he needed , he then went to get his Christmas present from me early and I have to say , I wish I had done it earlier , he was like a new dad all over again the way he was with her. Now at 6 weeks , she was even cuter than I could remember and fluffier for sure, My husband named her Bear Instantly and she settled very well with the other dogs . Within a week she was ruling the whole household including the two bigger dogs and we did find she loved playing with the girls new Barbie dolls . She seems to be doing well, she had her first lot of injections last week and we asked the vets when she would be able to go into the garden with the other dogs to be advised that if we cleaned it she was able to go in after 48 hours . Now three weeks at her new home tomorrow , she is eating perfectly, going to the toilet outside along with the other dogs and blended well with the family well. Bear is adapting to life in the outside also, she loves to go out and when it comes to being told to come back in she simply lays flat on her belly and refuses to come in , the male of the dogs who is the middle aged one (the teen as I call him, as he acts like a moody teen constantly ) plays with her all the time, he loves to chase her and although he is trying to dominate her , she is not letting him considering her small size , she is brave , The name Bear definitely suits her . For the first two weeks we slept on the sofa down stairs, it honestly felt just as bad as having a new born baby , up till late hours and up early in the morning .
She wined if we left her alone and so we have been taking her up stairs in her cage and letting her sleep with us and the other two dogs in our bedroom and since then although still up early crying on to be out , she is sleeping well . It really is like having a new baby , cleaning up poop and wee when they have an accident , feeding them , watering them, running around all hours taking items that they shouldn't have hold of out of their mouths and being up till all hours trying to settle them . All the hard work that comes with having a new puppy certainly is like being a new parent again but look at her , isn't she adorable, how do you like our new family member? |
