There has been many years where I have dreamed of having long lashes. I have spent my time wasting half hour each day using glue and false lashes which have left my own lashes ( or more of lack of them) being ripped out by the glue that has been slathered among them. My children were all blessed with gorgeous long lashes and I fear that I merely was drawn the short straw (literally) . The other week a lovely presenter from Younique approached me , asking if I would like to give the new 3D Fibre Lashes a try . Having heard so many great things from beauty bloggers, family and friends , I was merely excited initially but also weary too , especially after hearing that some were having some rather irritating issues with the product. The only way to know was to give them a try myself and wow I am so pleased I did, you will see why when you see the results yourself. First of all , Younique 3D fibre lash results looked almost too good to be true in my opinion and this is why I was excited to see what actually happened when I applied them to my very short lashes. Like I said before, my lashes are so short that I actually never thought there would be much length added by the product . Here is a little about the product before I show you my thoughts and results. Where to buy - I would love for you to purchase from the Younique Presenter who I received my product from . Please do not buy from Amazon, Ebay or anywhere that is not incorporated with Younique themselves as they do not allow their product to be sold on those and such sites alike. If you do , you are more than likely purchasing a fake which can be dangerous and harmful to your eyes. Younique products Cost - £23 What do they say about their product ? Our simple three-step process combines Transplanting Gel and Natural Fibers to help create the appearance of incredible thickness and volume to your existing lashes. Watch as your lashes transform into something you have only dreamed of! The 3D Fiber Lashes are water resistant but easily wash off with warm water and facial cleanser at the end of the day. Try it! It will quickly become your favourite makeup must-have! Directions - To prepare your eyelashes for optimal results, first apply one thin coat of your own regular favorite mascara and let it dry. Then, apply Moodstruck Transplanting Gel to your lashes. Immediately following, and while the gel is still wet, apply the Moodstruck Natural Fibers. Reapply the Transplanting Gel a second time to secure the natural fibers onto your lashes. Ingredients - Transplanting Gel Ingredients: Water, Beeswax (Natural Propolis), Carnauba (Brazilian palm glue), Iron Oxide Cl 77499 (Black), Collagen, Acrylates Copolymer, Nylon, Stearic Acid, Propylene Glycol. .23 FL OZ / 7 ml
My thoughts on Younique 3D Fibre Lashes- My first impressions were of the case that came with the product. Wow, I absolutely love a product that has its own case and this is gorgeous. It reminds me of a leather casing for sunglasses, solid and flip open style in sleek shadowed black . You also get a full instruction sheet which tells you how to use the product . Before using the product , I was informed to use my own mascara before applying the transplanting gel . The mascara that I chose is Smashbox Extreme as it is the only mascara that adds volume to my eyes , unfortunately only a tiny bit of length which is where the 3D fibre mascara needs to help me along. Using the Transplanting gel , I applied it to my lashes concentrating on the ends rather than the whole area just as I would my mascara. Over the past couple of weeks, I have overheard people talking and complaining about the fibres getting into their eyes and irritating them. This has then led to them not achieving the full benefit of the Younique 3D Fibre lashes and to me is such a shame , just give it another try but try it my way. My advice is that you stay clear from applying the product to the beds of the lashes . Your looking to add length not volume or depth , using this product on the ends, will not only give you a much more natural length to your lashes but also a more natural look . Make sure you apply the fibres while the transplanting gel is still sticky . Here are the results - Are you as amazed with the results as I was? Honestly, I had no idea that this product was actually going to work and listening to others experiences with this , I was a little superficial . This result was surprisingly surprising to me , it really was . I am rarely overly excited about products, this is the first product in a while that I have actually had pleasure in using and that has actually given me instant and transforming results. For me, finally having a fluttering lash that looks natural and not glued on is something of an achievement. The transplanting gel I am pleased to see has not been clased as a mascara, instead they named it correctly as the product does not add anything in respect of a mascara for your eyes , essential to the whole product , this is what helps keep the fibres on the lashes and also seals it to stay on afterwards. The fibres are very fine and light so when applied, your eyes do not feel heavy like they would with a false lash strip , nor do they look out of place and unnatural . The fibres are meant to be a temporary measure (just like false lashes used for a day) but unlike mascara gives extra effect and lengthier lashes which are easy to remove by washing with your everyday eye makeup remover just as normal . You can build up the dramatic look by applying more fibres whilst in between applications applying the transplanting gel to ensure the product builds up and stays put. I did not apply the product to my bottom lashes as for me , I personally do not like that look on myself. There are a few products from Younique that are quite appealing and I would love to give them a try such as Their Precision Eyeliners and their Glorious face and eye primer . I actually thought this product would just be another craze, another hype, another fake love to better the brand , but in fact , I am actually very impressed and the product has wowed me more than I thought it would. The wands are just perfect for handling, the case itself is perfect for carrying everywhere with you , even for taking away on holiday and weekend stays . For me my first impression and experience with Younique is a top score , there has nothing that has put a downer on this product for me, even the price is worth paying . So what are your thoughts now that you have seen the results of my first attempt at the Younique 3D Fibre Lashes, will you be giving them a try?

For some strange reason I ended up buying my Naked palettes backwards in the sense I bought the 3rd first, then 2nd then this one, the 1st Naked Palette from Urban Decay. The reason I had to buy these were not due to the fact everyone was talking about them and crazing over them, but in fact I actually always wear neutral shades such as browns and golds and they appealed to me very much . Since buying the Naked 3 , this collection of palettes from this brand have become almost addiction and since buying the third palette when it was released, I have since started to slowly build up the rest of the brands makeup to my own collection. There simply is nothing I do not like with their eye shadows at all (although I never did fancy buying the Vice as their shadows seemed a little loose in texture to me and I am not a fan of loose powdery eye shadows, I merely seem them as a waste ). My Palettes are used everyday more or less and to be honest they barely look used except for the shade strange in the third palette which I am continuously using for under my brow and inner corners of the eye. Cost of Naked 1 Palette - £ 37.00 Where to buy - Urban Decay What they say about this product - It’s the palette that revolutionised our neutrals forever. Loaded with 12 bronze-hued shadows in an insane range of textures —including matte, satin, shimmer and sparkle—Naked proves that neutral is anything but boring. From the palest champagne to the grittiest gunmetal shades, it’s all here. Whether you’re going for a laid-back, beachy vibe or black-tie drama, you’ll definitely look better Naked. Every shade features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, a vehicle for colour that holds tightly to pigment.. The proprietary blend of ingredients allows colour to weave itself through the Eyeshadow formula. What does all that mean? Insane colour payout. Sparkle that doesn’t fall. Colour that stays on your lids. And a velvety, suede-like smoothness and blendability. Ingredients - GUNMETAL: Talc, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Zinc Stearate, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Methylparaben, Acrylates Copolymer, Propylparaben SIDECAR: Polyethylene Terephthalate, Talc, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Zinc Stearate, Acrylates Copolymer, Methylparaben, Propylparaben HALF BAKED: Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Talc, Zinc Stearate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben SIN / SMOG / TOASTED: Talc, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Zinc Stearate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben DARKHORSE / HUSTLE / VIRGIN: Talc, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Zinc Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehyroacetate, Sorbic Acid BUCK: Talc, Zinc Stearate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehyroacetate, Sorbic Acid NAKED: Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Magnesium Carbonate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehyroacetate, Sorbic Acid CREEPS: Talc, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Zinc Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehyroacetate, Sorbic Acid, Tin Oxide All Shades May Contain: CI 77019 (Mica), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491/CI 77492/CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 75470 (Carmine), CI 77742 (Manganese Violet), CI 77510 (Ferric Ferrocyanide), CI 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens), CI 77289 (Chromium Hydroxide Green), CI 77163 (Bismuth Oxychloride), CI 77000 (Aluminum Powder), CI 77400 (Bronze Powder), CI 19140 (Yellow 5 lake), CI 42090 (Blue 1 Lake) As with all of the palettes in this collection, you receive a fantastic shadow brush which I am a big fan of and use every time I apply my eye makeup because of its soft texture and the bristles do not fall out all over my face. You get the wonderful 12 selection of shades -
You also get their famous primer from the brand in 4 sample sizes of each option to choose from -
I love how different this is compared to the other three and although it would have been nice to keep the Velvet packaging (because I actually love the feel and look of them ), I know it is more appealing to own the easy cleaning metal gold shaded casing which has that click shut security . For me, I take especial care in my Urban Decay products so I have no fear of them starting to look shabby or tearing before the need to buy a replacement due to overuse but Ii can see why people prefer the harder case. Although the casing of the Naked palettes have changed , the product is still of perfect quality and the shades change with every single palette which is even more appealing as I don't seem to have the same shades in either of the palettes (except for Half baked which appears in Naked 1 and 2 ) and at the rate I am going through my Strange from palette 3 , it would be nice to see this shade repeated also. This warm toned , neutral palette is perfect for everyone, no matter the time of day. You can wear it natural and light or build it for the stunning smokey look for those evenings out. All of these shades are fantastically pigmented even the lighter shades and they last you forever as you only need a small amount each time . For me , buying all of these Palettes are an investment due to me having little treats of my own and I think that these three palettes will last me a massive length of time so paying £37 for each is worth every penny and pound, in fact I now need to get the basics to complete my set. Of course I can not show you my most loved palette of the month without some swatches , so here is one with the flash and one with out to give you an idea of the shades more. So what do you think about the Naked Palettes , A craze or a must have, which is your favourite of the three?
Having owned a few of the W7 makeup pieces , I was intrigued to see that they had a palette with a selection of 10 browns in one place. Cost - £5.95 Where to buy - W7Cosmetics.co.uk What they say about the product - 10 out of 10 is an eye shadow palette featuring 10 different shades of brown. Ingredients - TALC, MICA, MAGNESIUM STEARATE, DIMETHICONE, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, POLYBUTANE, SYNTHETIC WAX, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM, METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, TIN OXIDE, MAY CONTAIN:CI 77019 (MICA) / CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 77491 ( IRON OXIDE RED), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDE BLACK), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDE YELLOW), CI 15850:2 (D&C RED 6 BA. LAKE). Having tried their fabulous purple haze palette previously I was actually expecting something very similar in quality but I was very much surprised with this compared to that product in particular considering it was only last month I used Purple Haze. My thoughts on this product - For a starters, the packaging was once again very sleek and easy to clean. The only downside to the whole thing , (well 2 in fact) was that there was no mirror inside which would have been a nice touch and also the cheap looking makeup brushes which once again is unwelcome and useless to anyone unless you are aged 8 and even then my daughter uses proper brushes not sponge applicators like this. W7 do have a lovely selection of brushes , so it is still a wonder as to why they are not adding these into their palettes as I know it would be much more appealing to the buyers than the current ones. (I do have a few of them in my possession which I will be doing a review for shortly on this blog so keep an eye out ). In my opinion, the Urban Decay Naked palettes will never be beaten on quality for the nude shades but for those who can not afford to delve into paying £37 for one palette, sometimes the smaller brands with products that offer affordability and similar shades is often the best next thing. I have heard that their other palettes such as ''In the buff'' have been referred to as Dupes for the Naked palette except for the far of cheaper value of only £9.99 ,but as of yet to try it . In fact for me, I would love to try the ''In the Night'' Palette . I am a total sucker for the purple shades. The downfall to this palette for me is that it did not give me the greatest of pigmentation that I would have hoped for. The shades were very faint . This is ok as I like to wear neutral shades but for someone who likes to show of their shades , this would be a downside. For only £5.95 it is a bargain to own with so many different choices of brown . The great thing about this palette is that you get 10 great different shades of brown for a small price and a fantastic mix of max shimmer, matte and slight shimmers which blend and work well with each other making this palette wearable on everyone , no matter their skin tone.
For me I feel the matte shadows are harder to grab hold of at an affordable price more these days, the love for matte shadows simply fade away behind the stunning shimmers we all very much sought after and this palette has very little and even with a great primer they seem rather chalky in my opinion so for me this was another downfall. The shimmers work so much better and their pigmentation is so much defined also . The fourth across from the left on the top row (that almost copper gold shade) is my favourite and in fact seems one of the boldest of the shades when applied. This shade (I am calling it golden copper as none of them have a name ) is a lovely subtle golden shimmer , perfect for that light shimmer on a nude eye. If you are looking for an affordable palette of nude / neutral shades then paying this small price would be a great buy , will you be reaching for it? Ok , My love for Urban Decay Is now certainly showing in the respect that it seems my makeup section of this blog is mainly this brand at the moment, I assure you once I have showed you each product , I will start having sum real fun with them not just show and tells . The newest member of my collection was actually one that I was not sure of getting but being such the fan , I simply did . Naked On The Run ! There has been rather a lot of talk about this so called compact and I for one ignored all warnings from other bloggers in regards to the whole ''It is not even a compact '' contraversy simply because I do not need a compact but in fact just love my years goal of collecting Urban Decay products, the one brand that seems to be impressing more and more each week. At first I looked at this and thought wow , what a great set , then I heard people complaining saying how heavy it was and not travel friendly at all. My opinions on this are - For me a compact includes a couple of products in one case, including something for eyes, lips and face along with a mirror and a brush for application. This compact has everything except for the brush which to me is a little let down due to the fact I absolutely love it when I get a brush with my Palettes from Urban Decay due to the quality of them, which is exactly what I would have expected with this also. You actually get quite a bit in this set here is a list for you -
You can see the 5 shades of eye shadow are simply gorgeous , smooth and amazingly pigmented as always but I did find there was a lot of fallout with shade Dare compared to the others which to me was a surprise with their eye shadows although I chose not to buy their Vice palette because of the same problem . I love the bronzer although a little on the orange side for my tone but it does blend in lovely with the blusher which looks fantastic for sculpting the cheekbones on . The all over 5050 for me wears best as a brow bone , nose and inner eye highlighter not enough shimmer for an actual highlighter on the cheek bones as some are saying to use it as for my liking . Having the extra travel size eye liner and mascara in this set is something I love due to the fact I have actually got the full sizes , but I know fine well that these will come in handy when I start running low due to me using so much mascara and it is actually an amazing mascara which I am loving lately and will of course share you a review with it later one . Getting the lipgloss was a complete surprise to me , it is the one thing I have not yet tried from this brand and to be honest did not really want to try as I have very little interest in lipgloss, although now I have tried this , I simply want more. It is gorgeous and goes with this complete look in this compact perfectly . For me the fact of them selling this as a compact completely off puts me in the respect it is not completely compact but I am won over by the product as it is itself an amazing compact for THE HOME , I simply have no time for carrying spare brushes with me when I go away , I want it all in one place (they could have added a secret compartment underneath to add the brushes which would have worked great with this ) it is big enough although still handbag friendly . The shades are as expected all natural and suitable for all skin tones so you do not need to fear that you have gone over the top with your look as no matter if you add them all to your face , you know you will look great as they all blend wonderfully together. So once again I am over the moon with Urban Decay and their new product. Ok , I know it may not be new to all of you but although you may have had yours before Christmas I had to wait for mine till Christmas and just getting to enjoy it now due to trying some other items out first. Not something I was going to get but did and pleased I have it now. You can buy this product from Urban Decay themselves on their website here for £37.00 which I think is rather reasonable and my price range for a set like this. Another thing I love but hate about this product is the case, I hate the design of it but love that it is secure, hard wearing and easy cleaning, not that I have ever dropped an urban decay product yet,(frantically runs around the house looking for something made of wood to touch as the saying goes screaming ''touch wood'') but if I did I am not sure this would survive . So what are your thoughts on this product, do you think it is classed as full compact or a home compact, let me know below lovelies and I will see you shortly with another post soon (I will make sure it is not this brand next , honestly ). I have been changing my blusher this past month and my choice was one of the products I got last summer but had never even opened . Bella Bamba! The only reason I actually opened this was because someone had said over on twitter that this was being discontinued although many were begging for it not to be and I remembred that I had it in my drawer ready for review . My problem is , when I get new products , I dont actually try them out straight away , Ii place them into a huge box along with other new items that have not yet been opened or tried ready to take pics of untill it is actually time to give a whirl but some things tend to stay in there a little longer as I try to work through oldest to newest on a list , unfortunately this one slipped the net and was still hidden in the box of new products and untill the lady mentioned it over on twitter , It had never even been swatched. What Was I thinking ? This should have been used way before the past month, in fact it is now my must have blusher in my makeup bag and I am loving it so much I even take it with me out and about in case I need to top it up . Now I know this is not sold seperately no more buy you can get hold of it by buying the Hot 2 Trot Set on Benefit for only £18.80 (which is fantastic considering the blushers sell for £23.50 usually), good thing about that is that it comes with a Cha Cha tint which I also have and will share my thoughts with you another time. I have to say this is my first ever Benefit blush that was not added to a beauty book or set and I was quite amazed at the reaction they had before I have them a go myself , then I knew why there was such a good rating for them. What they say about this - Amplify cheekbones and create the illusion of sculpted features with this 3D watermelon blush. Laced with shimmering gold undertones, bella bamba takes eye-popping pretty to the third dimension...you'll never use traditional blush again! Ingredients - TALC, MICA, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), POLYETHYLENE, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, DIMETHICONE, ZINC STEARATE, MAGNESIUM MYRISTATE, FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), YELLOW 5 LAKE (CI 19140), ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE (CI 77002), IRON OXIDES (CI 77492), BORON NITRIDE, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, LECITHIN, PHENOXYETHANOL, RED 30 LAKE (CI 73360), CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, ULTRAMARINES (CI 77007), TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491), TIN OXIDE, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL, TOCOPHEROL, LIMONENE, BHT, RETINYL PALMITATE, CARMINE (CI 75470). N° 05361/N Bella Bamba has that new flip top lid which keeps it all neatly together and for me makes life a little easier so I am not rushing around looking for lost lids which I am terrible for losing . I know I am not the only one ! The Blusher comes with a cute soft feather blusher brush which I do actually use considering most brushes I have received before this in blushers are never usually any good so I am happy to see they had a fabulous brush that actually works with the product . Also with a mirror included this is a great addition to carry in your handbag for top ups and easy use. The blush is gorgeous on my skin tone, I think it actually compliments me more than the usual pink shades I have used previously . Having a watermelon pink shade with fairly pale gold shimmer it sculpts my cheeks without any effort at all. I like that I can build this shade up to a more dramatic tone if needed but for my every day look this is as subtle as I need it to be . I actually think this would suit most skin tones not only fare skintones but also the deeper, darker ones to and although it has a mass of shimmer the pigment is great and it stays well on the skin . I have found it stays on my skin for a good 6-8 hours without a setting spray . Here is me wearing the blush , I have no face base makeup on today as I am struggling with very dry patchy skin so letting it breath but you can clearly see it is a lovely natural shaded blush . You do not need a lot of this product , I feel this is one of those blushers that will go a long way for a long time and I for one have it as one of my most loved blushers , just a shame its not going to be around much longer .
What do you think about this blusher, will you be grabbing it while you can ? |
