Ravensburger are always a great source for our puzzles , in fact I do not think we own any puzzle that is not a Ravensburger puzzle and it is because I feel the quality is at its best . Not only has Ravensburger over the years developed a wide range of designs and ideas ranging from children's puzzles with wooden pieces to puzzles with 500, 1000 or 1500+ pieces, but they have also developed 3D puzzles, round edged puzzles such as the puzzle ball and also the pyramid puzzles. This week we have been looking at a new puzzle and it is one of the children s favourite movie characters , Alvin and the Chipmunks. This puzzle is as bright and cheerful as the characters themselves and it really does show incredible detail as if the characters themselves are jumping out of the puzzle and onto your desk. This puzzle is specifically designed for children ages 6 and over and is an xxl 100 piece puzzle which means when built it is an approx 49 x 36 cm. This puzzle was great fun to sit as a family and do together .
We are going to put it in a frame and put it on our wall near our musical corner . Price - £8.99 Ages - 6+ Available from most leading retailers Pieces - 100 XXL I would like to add that Ravensburger also do a replacement scheme for missing pieces , so if your child or yourself loses a puzzle or game piece that belongs to this brand and their products it can be replaced , just click here and fill in the form . *We were not paid for this review , all opinions are honest and based on our own experiences and thoughts.

Over the years we have had many toy trains but this is a new and wonderful Train that helps the construction for even the smallest and unsteadiest of hands. The Magnetic Train by Brio is aimed at children 12 months and over and is only £23.99. It is available from all leading retailers and comes in 11 pieces . In this wonderful set you get two carriages with 4 movable wonderfully build wheels on each and nine addition building/stacking pieces in various shapes , colours and sizes. The idea is to build your own train then take it apart and rebuild it in a variety of different ways depending on how you want your train to look . Each piece consists of a beautiful coloured and well made wooden block and is very eye catching for those young senses , encouraging them to engage in the creativity that building and fine motor skills need to bring that imagination to life. The wonderful thing about this train is that it does not need a track , it also does not need locks or any other difficult additions that could cause those little minds to be confused on how to put things together. My son has a wooden train and on the carriage there are two tallish beacons where each block has to fit onto to ensure the train is secure and stays together . The magic of this train is that it is structued together strongly by the magnetic parts hidden within the blocks themselves , unseen to the childs eye and out of reach meaning they are safe to play with . My son is now 2 years old and is currently very hands on and visual with everything he can see and feel. He is especially going through a phase of putting things together and taking them apart and so building and construction is something he currently enjoys doing especially with his siblings as they can join in too. When I look for toys for him to engage with I think about durability and adaptability and this train has top marks for both. I have no concerns about things falling apart or being a hazard, usually I have concerns of paint chipping or things falling of , especially while so little still, but they are built to last and so I am guaranteed that my son will be safe during play . This is a lovely little toy that does not take up a lot of space and so it can be taken with you on holidays or family visits. We will be taking ours with us on our camping trip we have planned later on this summer. We absolutely love this toy and its great for dexterity and hand eye coordination skills. We are currently using ours to learn Joshua our 2 year old how to count and identify colours and shapes. He really enjoys it and adds other toys into his imaginative play when using it . *We were not paid for this review , all opinions are honest and based on our own experiences and thoughts.
Oh I do love the Teletubbies . I was a a fan at 16 and I'm still a fan at 34 and now I have a 2 year old who also loves them . Since we got Joshua the Teletubby clips a year ago , he has been a fan ever since . He actually walks around everywhere with his clip attached to about 6 dummies and we are always questioned about it, they love the idea but we are now looking to get the whole set again for him due to losing the yellow one on holiday last year and the red ones clip tag that was attached to the ring wore away . It has been our best dummy clip invention we've came up with guaranteed. He does not seem to have a favourite one , he loves them all the same . This year we have some new toys to take a look at including the Teletubbies Twist and Chimes and the Teletubbies Talking 8'' plush. Lets take a look at the Teletubbies Twist and Chime. £4.99 each Recommended for ages 18+ months Come in 4 different colours to match the four main characters of Teletubbies. A fun way to build your child's dexterity skills comes the Teletubbies Twist and Chime. These four cute little figures are fantastic for those musical little fans . Each Teletubby is sold separately but they all hold that wonderful piece of chime and each can be played with just the same as the other. They are a wonderful hand sized figure that has movable hands and head and when you twist its waist a beautiful calming sound comes from within. They are true to look at with their brightly coloured and chunky styles and those little hands will find them great to add to any imaginative play. Lets take a look at the Teletubbies Talking 8'' Plush soft toy £9.99 each Recommended for ages 18+ months Come in 4 different colours to match the four main characters of Teletubbies. Batteries: 3 x LR44inc The Teletubbies Talking Plush is my sons go to toy at the moment, He loves to carry this everywhere with him . I am not precisely sure how many sounds it has but I think it is around 13 different ones which change their sequence to not make it boring to listen to . My son's favorite one is ''eeeew'' and ''Tinkle winkle Tinky Winky'', I am sure that each character comes with their own sayings true to themselves. We love how soft and cuddly this plush is , he takes and snuggles into it in bed and when he squeezes his new friend really tight , he gets a reply . They can be sat on their bed , shelf or window easily with their standable pose and are lightweight enough for little one to carry everywhere with them. We love Teletubbies , they're so friendly and cuddly and we cant wait to give the other toys a try . *We were not paid for this review , all opinions are honest and based on our own experiences and thoughts.
As Joshua has just turned 29 months , he is now encouraged to discover and create on his own . He is opening his eyes more to the world around him and his senses are heightening more with touch in play and learning more than it used to be. This month our new discovery is with a new Brio toy that is called the Ball Pounder. The name alone actually sounds fun but also quite scary , and so when I saw that the contents included a hammer, I was terrified that it would not just be the balls that got used with it . Joshua is currently showing signs that he loves to be mischievious , he likes to be cheeky and in play can be known to throw things so I am uneasy about allowing this toy into my sitting room where my brand new 62'' T.V is available for aim. Lets Take a closer look - The Ball Pounder is from Brio , a top quality wooden toy which is sustainable for those heavy little hands and time itself. It comes in 5 pieces which includes the following -
No batteries are needed and this toy is available for ages 18+ months for just £24.95 Joshua loves to play with tools, unfortunately being small , the real thing is definitely not an option but the ones he receives at Christmas or birthdays usually come as plastic and fall apart or break quickly . He loves to hammer things and so this is perfect for him. As I stated earlier I was concerned for the damage that may occur during play with such hard and heavy objects so we moved quickly to a safe place away form T.V's and Windows , just to be sure. The hammer is like a real life mini mallet hammer you would find in the D.I.Y store , the one with the rubber head and wooden handles. It is rather heavy but its perfect proportion for small hands to get hold of so Joshua was able to maneuver it easily to where he wanted it . The Ball pit was lighter than I imagined , I expected it to be a little heavier . The hardened wood is needed especially when he is going to pounding the hammer on top of the pit to get the Ball through . The 3 balls are covered in a soft rubber but not all of it meaning the exposed parts are hardened plastic which is my concern for this object. They are very heavy and feel almost like a real Snooker ball to hold. As you can imagine, a 2 year old throwing things , especially something like this could be a disaster for inside the home . My son sees a ball in any shape and size as a football or a basketball so he tends to throw them . We have found that this toy is safer to be used outside of a family room and if used correctly then is enjoyed . Joshua loved using his hammer to hit each ball separately on top of the ball pit where a hole is ready for him to pound it through. If you take a closer look at the hole on the pit , there is a small C like shaped plastic which is slotted into it which enables the ball to slowly be pushed through the hole which also means he really needs to give it a good pound to pop that ball into the pit. There are three holes on the bottom of the pit where they are able to be released form so its a race to find which one was chosen and as you can see he gets really excited over the fun element of doing it faster and catching the balls to redo the whole thing over and over again. *We were not paid for this review , all opinions are honest and based on our own experiences and thoughts.
