I was lucky enough to have been sent this campaingn kit from Bzz Agent. Crusha Milkshake mix- Strawberry There have been the likes of Nesquik powdered milkshake mixes that we as a family have tried before but to me they were costly and also left a powdery texture in the mouth. The latest product we have been enjoying from the milkshake mix were the Nesquik straws. You basically fill your cup with milk then pop in the straw and drink . The straw is filled with little balls of flavoured mix which then mix with the milk as you suck through the straw and all of the children really enjoyed them . Usually buying them from £ shop for a pack of 10, the kids love them and it makes it easy for me to make especially when my youngest son enjoys one or two before bed and I am rushing around sorting housework. Crusha has been a brand that I have seen many of times , mainly the annoying advert of cats dancing around with obstacles of gym bells or street wear dance style clothing in that annoying advert with the song ''I want some crusha, some lovely crusha, no added sugar , it tastes so great'' Yes now you remember , that one that gets stuck in your head for days on end and is rather addictive although we cant stand hearing it . Well luckily they brought the new advert out , without that terrible tune and to me it seems a lot better. The kit includes-
What Crusha have to say about their product- Milk – it’s naturally full of amazing health benefits for bones, teeth and hydration but it can also taste a little boring. So getting all that goodness into your kids may be a bit of a struggle at times! Crusha is the perfect way to make milk more interesting – all you do is add it into a glass of milk, and hey presto! Instant milkshake quicker than you can say “I don’t even need to stir this!” Not only does it taste great, it’s also free from artificial flavours and colours. Our thoughts on the milkshake mix -
So the kit came through the door and I have to admit the cute beaker was quite exciting as I knew my son would love it. Little bit flimsy in the sense if the little one squeezed it (as they do) then it would break, not very solid but cute non the less . The bottle of Crusha looked very appealing , although I am still confused as to why they use a cat on the front . It is not like it is a cat milk drink. The mix is a undiluted syrup and very red in colour, not natural looking at all and certainly does not look full of goodness or healthy. It says on the bottle no need to mix but then says mix it up . Yes confusing to say the least but I gave it a go. Adding a small amount of syrup then filling the beaker with cold milk you see the colour mixing into a lovely baby pink shade so I did not mix . It looks like milkshake and smells like milkshake . The smell seems quite strong actually , very strong strawberry sweet aroma. Having a taste before giving it to my son, I realise it is very sweet and diluted it a little more with milk to take the strong kick of sweetness away. The taste is actually very nice, unlike Nesquik , it does not have a powdery texture or bitter taste and has a lovely strawberry taste. It is quite sweet but is very tasty. There is not much more I can say other than it tastes of strawberry but the children really enjoyed it. We have used half a bottle on 8 drinks so the price is fantastic for how well it lasts as you do only need a small amount . I think I will definitely be picking it up when I am in store next as they thought it was tasty . Maybe give the chocolate one a try next . Do you like milkshake mix's , will you be giving this a try ?

So I have to admit I was rather excited when a lady from Vita Coco contacted me asking me if my children would like to try their new kids line of Vita Coco drink. I was told there were 2 new flavours they were trying to introduce which sounded amazing
SO when you hear those amazing flavours of fruit you begin to understand how appetising a coconut milk being flavoured with them sounds. To be honest , I have not drank Vita Coco before, it simply has not made it to my basket whilst out and about . So anyhow , lets get to the interesting bits,,,,,, the drink it self. What do Vita Coco say about their drink- Inside every green coconut is an extraordinary life-force and Vita Coco taps straight into it, bringing you a refreshing, electrolyte-replacing beverage that surpasses artificial sports drinks in every way - except in artificiality. Vita Coco contains no artificial ingredients and unlike coconut milk, coconut water contains no fat or cholesterol. Vita Coco is an excellent source of the five essential electrolytes: potassium, calcium, phosphorous, sodium, magnesium - in fact, we've got all the important "ums" covered. Ingredients - Coconut water, filtered water, sugar, natural flavours, vitamin c, natural fruit flavours. Gluten free and contains only natural flavourings. Packaging- I do not have to tell you how fabulous the packaging is really. You can see for yourself . Vita Coco For kids come in a recyclable pouch with a handy straw for easy use and acessibillity where ever you are. The flavoured milk is handy for those packed lunches or trips out and the vibrant colours are great. My son absolutely loved the fact that the apple and blackcurrent flavoured milk had a monkey on the front . If you do not know already , my son is obsessed with monkeys. My two elder daughters tried out the Mango and Pineapple, they both seemed to really enjoy it and it did not last long at all, the taste was fresh and creamy and they knew the exact flavours without me telling them . The Apple and Blackcurrant however was a little less creamy , and the younger ones seemed to enjoy them more than the mango and pineapple. For our children this drink was a hit , more so with the mango and pineapple for the older ones and the apple and blackcurrant for the little ones, I am not sure if that is because of the thickness of the juice . Price- £2 for a pack of 4 I tend to buy my shopping from Tesco as it is closer to us and most convenient for online shopping and I found Vita Coco for kids to be £2 for 4. To me that seems quite a lot of money for only 4 drinks but given the fact that it is coco milk and good for them , I suppose it is a nice treat once in a while. For me having 7 children to buy juice for though these pouches could add up very costly so it does not seem so affordable in the long run . Overall conclusion-
So over all after trying both flavours and having a sip myself of course, the children and myself enjoyed the flavours of both the drinks , more so the mango and pineapple for us older ones and the apple and blackcurrant for the younger ones. The packaging is vibrant and fun and the very handy , easy to dispose or fold away packaging is ideal for outings or packed lunches. The only downside to this product is that the cost is a little more than I would tend to pay for a children's drink. Have you tried this yet? Why not give them a try . I have been looking for something tasty to start me of on my new kick start to #30dayfitness challenge and to be honest with you I am the type of person who covers everything in creams and sauces so it has been quite hard to find a balance between the two.
I thought I would make one of my favourite meals today. The Jacket Potato. Usually this would be drowned in butter and smothered with cottage cheese and lashings of melted chedder for topping. I know it is terrible, not healthy at all, so I know I am not allowed to fill my body with all that fat and badness from now on. Since I am looking for a healthier option I thought I would try something new . Ok , so Tuna crunch is nothing new , but it is to me and I know there are many out there but honestly, after looking for some ideas I had seen even weight watchers said 4 tablespoons of light Hellmans mayonnaise was o.k! Sorry but that simply is not o.k for me. Does not sound good to me at all . Seems a little excessive does it not? I have often enjoyed the tuna and mayonnaise topping for my jacket potato but I am determined to bring flavour and more salad foods into my meal so why not mix them up . I raided my fridge for anything healthy I could find and in there was a few things that caught my eye Ingredients for the Tuna crunch topping-
How to make Tuna Crunch Salad topping- Slice and chop the tomato, cucumber and pepper into small slices depending on how chunky you want your topping to be then simply mix the tuna and mayonnaise all together. I basically thought if I used tomatoes and cucumber , the tuna would not feel so dry and therefore moisten the tuna a little ,meaning I could use less mayonnaise. I was in a hurry so I actually placed my small potato into the microwave for only 6 minutes (or until the centre was left fluffy) and it came out perfect . I have done this so many times, perfect for snacks and quick meals. I chose a healthier option this time with no butter or cheese , just a side of watermelon slices . For some strange reason since having my daughter who is now 10 years old, I have had an allergic reaction to fresh fruits . Fortunately I seem to have over come it somehow in the past two months and have been slowley enjoying the odd piece of fruit meaning I can now add some of my old time favourites like watermelon and kiwi and strawberries to my diet . I really do not understand why it happened but I missed fruit so much and am pleased . The good thing about this , is that I only used 1/3 of the mix so I have covered it and placed the remainder of the mix into the fridge. I can use it in a sandwich or on pasta or another jacket potato for another meal . Happy days. So have you tried this , will you? I would love to hear any more ideas to help me along , so please share . Is it just me or do other mum's wake up and instantly think about what to feed the family with for the day?
It seems that from waking up, all I can think about is my options of what to make or bake for the family coming in from school or work. My children are very easily pleased in the sense of their meals and will eat anything I make them so it is nice to be able to try new things without worrying they will not give it a go to. The only thing I am getting annoyed at though is the fact I do a monthly shop which saves us money buying it in one big bulk, but I am finding myself buying the same items on every shop. I always fill my feezer with meat as we are a family of meat eaters and the fridge with fresh veg which gets topped up every week but for some reason I have always seen a good meal to be a meat and two veg dish and it seems to have stuck with me through out growing up . This often means I enjoy making meals such as lasagne, spaghetti bolognaise , broth and dumplings, roast dinners, potato /pasta bakes etc . I do not buy many ready prepared choices like chicken nuggets or fish fingers etc , as the family always prefer home made and fresh although I admit there are the odd occasions where it seems quick and simple when I am feeling tired or ill. This has started to bore me in something I used to really enjoy as I now am beginning to get into a monthly routine where the children even know what they are getting for their tea time meals. For instant on the day the shopping arrives, I always make us a lasagne with salad, chips and corn on the cob. It is a family favourite and so we all really enjoy it , but predictable meals are becoming annoying and I actually made myself not make a lasagne last night (food arrival day) and made a chicken and bacon supreme potato bake. It was absolutely deliscious , I can not deny that. The brother in law who can be quite fussy with food especially vegetables, stayed over after helping my husband at work, actually called it handsome which made me over joyed. It was nice to change the routine around and we all really enjoyed it. I want to ensure I have made a nutritionally balanced meal at the end of the day. This is what leads me to making at least one big meal each evening . The children are all on school meals and although I have seen the menu which looks and says it is healthy, I actually can not comment on what my children are eating, how much they are consuming and what ingredients are being placed into each of their school meals. This is the reason I make an evening meal myself. I think it is important not only for me but them to understand that fresh home made meals are far more healthier and fulfilling to eat than a quick ready meal like chicken dippers and chips for example. They all enjoy helping in preparing the meals with me from the 4 year old to the 12 year old and I think this is something they can all learn for the good of their growing up. Today I woke to find myself taking out the fresh mince to make our evening meal but what am I going to make. We usually use mince for a lasagne, shepherds pie or spaghetti bolognaise so what else can I do with it ? Are you a person who wakes up and instantly thinks about their evening meals, how do you manage to keep new ideas coming to the table ? At the moment I am currently enjoying my most favourite dinner time snack , the freshly made ham , salad sandwich in extra seeded loaf. Now this is a dinner I always enjoy . So the husband decided to take a long drive to Birmingham. He is on the search for a new works van and so taking a 6 hour drive he had to stop and grab something to eat. He opted for a Macdonalds as it was the only option other than KFC or a coffee. He rang me asking me if I fancied anything and I asked for a donut . At 10pm he strolls in with a box in hand . The amazing dozen delight from Krispy Creme and wow I was gob smacked. I have never tried them as the prices compaired to those I buy from the supermarket were a huge difference , What on earth have I been missing out on? As I sat there deciding on which looked the most tasty I had no choice but to have a couple and went straight for the toffee coated topping with cherry like filling . I was not even tasting it because the texture absolutely drove me insane . It was the most amazing donut I have ever tried . Soft and moist on the pallete and oh yes the taste was there succulating on the end of my tongue making me groan with enjoyment. Today I am still staring at the box of 7 out of 12 left and thinking to my self ''They are so bad for me but ooh so good'' I just leave the box sitting there on the lonely dinner table , looking at me and willing me to taste their every crumb and topping but what do I choose next and how many can one girl eat? It is this one that catches my eye today, the strawberry and cream looking one with those delinquent sprinkles on top making me think of crumble . Oooh but then there is this one too... How does anyone decide which to have especially as the chocolate has been thrown into the box of mix as well. It is soo unfare . Chocolate sauce inside, on the top and even flake sprinkles. The choice is a hard one to make but I am a sucker for sprinkles and the ring donut now catches my eye , if only I had three mouths to taste them all at once haha. Oh my ,,, I am in heaven, It is pink and sparkly and I can eat it! Bring this one to me please. The choice is just too hard to make and so I am deciding to enjoy them all. Why not , they are too delightful to waste and donuts do not last long .
