Optrex Eye Revive Moisture Mist can be bought form Boots
Costs - £15.31
10ml
Ingredients -

1ml contains 10mg Soy Lecithin, 8mg Sodium Chloride, 8mg Ethanol, 5mg Phenoxyethanol, 5mg Pro-Vitamin B5 (Dexpanthenol), 0.25mg Vitamin A Palmitate, 0.02mg Vitamin E, Purified Water.
What Optrex has to say -

What can Eye Revive Moisture Mist do for me?

Modern lifestyles - computer screens, air-conditioning and central heating - can make our eyes drier, leaving them feeling tired and sore. Optrex Eye Revive Moisture Mist has been designed to care for tired eyes so they can feel good again. The convenient mist-on format can be sprayed over closed eyes any time of the day, even over make-up.

How does it work?

Optrex Eye Revive Moisture Mist works both in the eyes and around the eyes:

  1. Sprayed over closed eyes, the hydrating liposomes stabilize the lipid layer of the tear film restoring your eyes' natural moisture barrier so they feel comfortable and soothed
  2. The spray contains pro-vitamin B5 and is clinically proven to moisturise the skin around your eyes
  • Safe for use with contact lenses
  • Will not smudge eye make-up
  • Suitable for everyday use
  • Can be used up to 6 months after first opening

How to Use -

Before use, please read the information leaflet enclosed.

  • When using for the first time, press on the nozzle a few times to load the pump.
  • Hold about 10cm from your closed eyelid
  • Spray onto closed eyelids 3 to 4 times per day, whenever your eyes feel tired and dry.

Hazards and Cautions -
Store at room temperature (between 2°C and 25°C).

What I have to say about it -

First of all I have to say I was really excited while waiting for this to arrive. I have always struggled to sleep and therefore my eyes are continously tired .

As soon as the postman passed it into my hands I had to use it straight away , excited to think that my eyes may feel less tired and make me feel more awake after yet another hard night of no sleep .

For starters the box instantly stood out , but surprisingly my husband commented on how the colours and style of the box reminded him of the Durex packets when he spotted it on the window sill ,he did get a little shock lol.

Haha ,,, ok so they are not exact but I see the resemblance.

Anyway less about the humorous of things and lets get to the important things you want to hear about.

Lets start with the Mist itself.

I am going to start with the negatives .

1-Price-
I am rather disappointed in the ridiculous price. I feel it is way over priced and is therefore not affordable to those who feel they could benefit from it. They should really retail this at £5 or below for what it actually is. I feel we are paying for the bottle not the product.

2- Packaging -
The spray bottle is in fact a small solid glass bottle and for me it is something of a bug bear.
For me this product is a small product. The glass bottle can not be reused and it seems I am paying for this rather than more product for the price.
The lid is also an issue and although it does sit comfortably on top of the spray nozzle , I feel the screw top is so much better especially for those who may need to keep things like this out of reach of younger ones.

Like I keep saying , it seems the price we are paying for this is for the packaging and it is way too much for such a small item especially when the ingredients are nothing fantastic themselves.

3- The waste -
I am disappointed to hear that you can not use up all the product in the bottle.
Supposedly Optrex have acknowledged that there will be product left on the bottom due to the nozzle pipe not reaching the bottom of the bottle.
They say they can not make it reach the rest of the product due to it effecting the spray effect itself  but have said that they added more product to make up for the loss. Seems a little silly to me , is that not just waste? I hate waste!

4 -  Smell -
The smell is terrible. I do not know exactly what I was expecting from an eye mist but this is most definitely not it. I think it actually smells like a three day old doughnut and not the delicious type . It smells rather foisty .

5 - Nozzle -
The spray nozzle works fantastic but in fact sprays way too wide than needed. When I spray this on my eyes I do not expect to have to wipe it from my ear or forehead .

I know I think I have been harsh as there is not much left to like is there?

So what are the good points?

1 - Size-
This is small enough to carry with you where ever you need to take it.It is very handy .

2- Easy and quick-
The spray is easy and quick to use . The nozzle ensures that the spray is released with the first pump of the nozzle .

3- Hydration/cooling-
I find this has an instant cooling  effect that feels as though my eyes and around  the eyes are instantly refreshed.

4- Safe to use-
This is safe to use with contacts and can also be used while wearing makeup.

Overall my thoughts on this is not so great.
I have tried this everyday now and although I think it does refresh my eyes it does not make them feel more awake .
I think the same effect could be achieved by spraying cool water on my eyes as this is the same effect I am feeling.

The cold spritz refreshes my eyes, not the product.
The tiredness does not go away and I feel the effect is not as good as the drops .

I would not spend my money on this product at all and find it a total waste of time .

Have you tried this product or will you be?

I would be interested to see if others had a better experience so please share your thoughts.

I will have to have a look for this product. I have seen the adverts but am a bit wary of things that go in my eyes, the spray aspect is a lot more appealing!

You know, the first thing I thought as soon as I landed on your page was that it was for condoms too! Sorry it was a disappointing product; I rely on the Optrex eye bath and love it, sad this product doesn't live up to expectations. Thank you for the honest review!

It's a big price but I do find it works better than water for me - That said I have a medical reason for drier eyes and, so, that might be why it makes a bigger difference. Can't afford to keep re-purchasing it mind you

Did you get this from bzz agent?
