Over the past two years I have swapped with some very lovely ladies and there is nothing more pleasing than knowing you have bought them some lovely items at a small budget, the budget is usually set at around £30 but as you can see I always go that extra mile , but sometimes swaps go wrong. I done a swap over xmas and I was astonished at the response I received from my swappee. Never have I felt soo upset and angry at the ungratefullness . They waited to receive my swap before telling me it was disgusting and unthoughtful and I was not getting a box in return and yet I had tried nothing more than to send a great box. I was blocked before I decided to attempt one last time to get my box back and got alot of abuse and my name talked about and so I posted into a group of swappers till I recieved a reply saying she would return it, (along with her and her friends giving me more abuse and trying to make my box look terrible). I am not a person to let others get to me especially when they try to bully others in a group . Here are the items I sent , I will let you make your own mind up whether it was a reasonable box or not when the budget was meant to be £30 . IT WAS NOT A SPECIFIED SWAP BOX , WE DID NOT CHOOSE WHAT WE WERE RECEIVING. I never received the swappees box and I certainly did not ask to be name called and bullied by a bunch of grown woman. I will do swaps again, there are amazing ladies out there who I have done amazing swaps with , but my message is this:- Be careful who you swap with , not everyone wants to be your friend.

I know its already a week into the New Year but , I have not had much time to think about Resolutions, I barely ever do any , and when I do try to make one I tend to break it because it was something silly like, ''Never eat chocolate again EVER! Yes, because we all know how that pans out. This year is like a whole new beginning for me and my family and my time to myself has shortened dramatically so I need to make time for me and find a way to stay organised. Before September last year I was a mum of 4 but after a drastic event , I soon became mum of 6 over night (well 7 ,but that child only visits on weekends and holidays), so you can imagine that it is time consuming in my home, leaving me very little time to enjoy my beauty regime. This past week I have been sat wondering if there was something I could do to make my resolution work , something I really needed to learn or do that would benefit me in the long run but was not going to take up any extra time or be unenjoyable. So after thinking long and hard , I have decided - ''This year my Beauty regime is my New Year Resolution and I am determined to achieve it''! Time for some 2014 New Years Resolutions:- 1st - Mum friendly look:- Like I said mum of 7 , I am bound to be shattered and waking every morning for the school run is not a ''walk in the park'' as they say. School run rush hour is my most hectic time of the day and I tend to rush around chasing the kids while I am trying to get myself ready. I need something quick and easy to help me look ''mum friendly'' at the school gates (slapping on makeup to lok like I am off out on a date at 9am is not the look I want to go for and it can be time consuming). My Resolution is to make sure I have 3 crutial items from my beauty bag at hand each morning
''I may feel tired , but I certainly don't want to show it in my face each morning'' 2nd- Bad brush habbits need fixing:- Its the one bad habbit I need to break. Many times I forget to sort through my makeup brushes and tend to throw them away and buy new just to save time. Its the beginning of the new year and we all have xmas bills or feel the need to save a little more. Washing all of your brushes every week is recommended and it prevents breakouts and helps you to apply your makeup evenly and more easily. I currently use Eco tools and Techniques makeup brushes and find the best way to clean them is to use a mild makeup antibacterial cleanser with warm water ensuring all dirt and cleanser is thoroughly rinsed. TIP:- Try using a toothbrush holder (the ones that hang on the wall) to hang your makeup brushes upside down. This helps to release the moisture that can get trapped in the brushes and avoid more bacteria being formed. If you have wooden handles on your makeup brushes , the wood could expand and split from the extra moisture leaving you with more money to pull out . 3rd - Fresh and Clean nails:- So if you know me well, you will know I absolutly love to paint my nails ALOT and it usually revolves around nail art. I no longer have the time and to be honest I need a break . This year , my task is to simplify my nails and invest in some very classic, modern colours including those metallic, textured and more natural hues. It gives me the excuse to go shopping and treat myself to that much loved matte black classic manicure look. TIP:- Invest in Essie ''Matte about you'' , to replace the glossy topcoat. This topcoat makes your polish look matte and its a classic way of turning your boring nails into a sophisticated more mature style. 4th - Repair the hair. After my hair has suffered the cold and still is in this fabulous British weather, I really need to repair and protect my hair and make sure I stick to a regime. Once a week , I am going to repair the damage by using a treatment mask. I will be treating my hair to ''Kerastase nutritive masquintense'', it costs around £18 but is totally worth the extra spending . It is the Holy Grail of all luxury hair products and will leave your hair nourished and indulged. I used my last one till it was all gone and the results were amazing. Your hair feels soo clean, soft and silky and you will discover there were highlights in your hair you had never seen . Your hair is your main accessory so it's worth paying extra to take care of it. 5th - Nourish my skin
I have never really took time to enjoy the skincare routine. All those cleansers, toners, masks, oils and creams, ect. It is just too much effort and time consuming. I need more time enjoying it instead f battling the many different items. Why cant we just jump in the bath and relax without the soaps and scrubs and creams? it just seems like a boring task to me. I'm now vowing to take at least one bath a week with nourishing bath oils to help soothe dry and itchy skin and help me de - stress and relax. ''Dr Hauschka Lavender bath made me feel soo calm and soothed after soaking in a bath with scents of lavender.'' I also want to try Jo Malone Nutmeg & Ginger Bath Oil There is no excuse for not wanting to soak in a steamy bath. especially when luxurious oils are doing good for your skin and calming your mind just by lying in it for half an hour, we all love pampering , just find some time to enjoy it. So there we have it , my 5 Beauty New Year Resolutions. What are your resolutions this year and will you be trying any of these ?. So its the year 2014, Happy New Year everyone. This year I have already found my wishlist for some much needed and wanted Beauty Products and I know you will be interested too. 1st New release I am adding to my wishlist. This collection looks fun for spring and it is no surprise they have chosen the turquoise, blue and purple tones .The bold tones are hitting it big style in the fashion industry and I for one love bold colours. I particularly love the eyeliners and this is the most wanted part of the collection for me. The Duo Eyeshadows look fantastic but the purple and turquoise tones are not something I would wear alot of and with the eyeliners it will be a little over bearing for my skin. Another part of the Spring Collection from NARS this year that is also to be released is ''NARS Final Cut, Edge of Pink Collection Spring 2014'' This is the collection I wish to own all of . The tones and colours in every single item of Final Cut , Edge of Pink is perfect for me and my collections. Here is what is included NARS Blush - Around £22
NARS Illuminator - Around £22
NARS Satin Lip Pencil - Around £18
I absolutly adore these and I hope to have these this year . 2nd New release I am adding to my wishlist. Now I do not usually like the scented polishes, but I am loving the new look of ''Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel'' I am amazed at the new style to the bottle , giving that sophisticated look which we love. There are 24 shades to choose from and I for one look forward to trying Ginger Melon, Autumn spice and Wintermint. 3rd New release I am adding to my wishlist. ''MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadow x15 Pallettes Spring 2014'' Internation release date is in March '' I want them soo badly''! There are 2 Pallettes to choose from or if you feel like treating yourself and being greedy just grab the pair.
They are priced around the £70 mark and I know its a bit pricey but , ''Come on , we know they are worth it, its MAC '' I know your thinking the same as me ''ARE MAC TRYING TO BE THE NEW NAKED''? I think it looks like MAC are trying to battle with the famous pallettes but in my opinion MAC have the better tones in each pallette soo far. So there you have it my thee wishlist beauty products I am dreaming of owning this year. Will you be choosing to purchase some or all of them or are there some others you have your eye on?
Let me know please , I would love to know. So its that time again, and dont we know it? On average , a woman shaves around 12 times a month, thats a staggering 7,718 on average times in a lifetime . The average woman spends around £6182.76 on shaving products and spends around 10.9 minutes per each shaving session they participate in . Amazing thing is that there are only 11% of woman who actually shave every day, are you in that percenta All together it sounds like way too much time and money and if your anything like me it feels like a chore not a pamper. Recently I have been looking around and trying out some of the products available , and to be honest I was exsausted afterwards, especially after finding some of the big brands were in fact the worst I have actually come across. Unwanted hair is not as important to some woman as it is others, but we all do it ,and if its quick, easy and pain-free , then it makes life a little easier for us. From the razor to creams or waxing, or if you feel a little braver you can have laser treatment, shaving has become a huge thing for woman removing that stubborn unwanted hair. The one thing I have to say is dont believe everything you see on television or read in the magazines! First of all I want to share with you my top Best products.
Bikini Zone Anti-Bumps Shave Gel 115 ml - If you suffer from shaving burns then this is perfect for you . This gel maKes a HUGE difference as far as reducing irritations and ingrown hairs. Gillette Venus Embrace -A five-bladed razor. It has a “Protective Ribbon of Moisture” that goes around the razor head, which basically helps make the shave go smoother both during and afterwards. This razer is so fabulous because even with all those blades and getting the closer shave , you dont need to worry about those razer niks. Satin Care Dry Skin Shave Gel - Using this will lock in moisture . Designed for dry skin, the specially composed formula helps lock in moisture for soft, smooth skin, shave after shave. Ready To Use Wax Strips For Dry Skin With Papaya Oil- It doesn't cause irritation to your skin, but leaves them feeling silky and very smooth. Here are the not soo great shaving products - Glide on hair removal cream- This was one of my first products for shaving , I tried before razers and as a teen and back then it didn't remove all the hair so I then had to shave as well and it gave me a rash! Today , it is exactly the same , even the horrid smell is terrible. Quattro Bikini Razor - I hated this product from the start , it felt grainy on my skin. After about 3 uses, it became blunt and did not work. Would not reccomend this at all. Spray On Hair Removal Cream Sensitive- Unfortunetly it seems to take a few goes, because it doesnt dissolve the hair completly, which then means wasting more time shaving afterwards to remove the leftovers. There are many ingredients you need to avoid in skin care products, but for now I will only share with you some of the worst. Coal Tar
Coal Tar is used for treating Psoriasis, but most commonly found in shampoos and conditioners for treating dandruff and head lice. This ingredient was put at the top of my list because it is known as group 1 in the carcinogens. Group 1 Carcinogens are well known to cause cancer in humans. Mineral oils Mineral oils are derived from petroleum or crude oil and untreated or mildly treated mineral oils are also in group 1 Carcinogens. Alot of mineral oil products may be contaminated with cancer - causing chemicals, but the main priblem is the clogging of the pores. Usually cheap moisturisers hold this toxic ingredient. So I advise to stay clear. Alcohol We all know how alcohol can be damaging to our health and it shows not just by drinking it but also by applying it to your skin using skin care products too. Alcohol effects your skin's natural pH levels and makes it more subceptible to infections of all kindsas well as drying your skin and increase ageing. Ethylene Oxide/ Ethylene Glycol This can be found in many cosmetics and is classified as a sensitizing agent. This means it might not cause you immediate irritation , but long term uses will cause sensitivity and irritation or imflamation will occur as well as also been another one of the ingredients in group 1 carcinogen. Triclosan This ingredient can be found in so many skin care products inclusing hand cleansers, body wash and lotions. It is know as an antibacterial agent and has become increasingly popular. First of all it is not biodegradeable. Again Triclosan can reduce a persons life expectancy with risk of cancer if exposed to it . If you dont want your health outting at risk over skin products you believe to be helping you , get in the habit of reading the labels. It could save your life someday. |
