It is February and to be honest I am sick to death of this cold and miserable weather, where is the sun? .
My skin is struggling terribly, it is very dry and being very pale I look really ill with it.
Something simply had to be done over the weekend, so I gave myself a pampering and decided to add a little colour onto my skin.
The problem is, I actually hate the fact that tanning products seem to smell of that fake chemical and can sometimes make you look a little orange and in the cold winter months you can spot the fake tanners a mile of .
Over the past year , I think the tanning mousse seem to have come a long way, I have found them so easy to apply and the formulas have become fantastic to the point that there is no yellow or orange tones in the tan giving you a natural look.
Where to buy - Diamonds On Demand
Cost - £16

Diamonds on Demand are the Official Company Of Diamond Microdermabrasion & The Best Selling 2 Hour Tan!
What they say about the product -
Tan On Demand 2 Hour Tanning Mousse gives you a natural looking sexy tan in minutes. This salon inspired formula gives instant colour whilst developing over 8 hours but can be washed off after.
2 hours = Light
3 Hours = Medium
4 Hours = Dark
So you choose the depth of tan.The colour guide technology ensures an easy streak free application every time meaning no more stained bed sheets or sleeping in your tan. It contains no parabens or alcohol and lasts for 5-7 days.
My thoughts -
My first impressions of the 2 hour tan is that it has a familiar bottle, the push nozzle which lets out a lovely frothy mousse.
The mousse looks a lot lighter than other tanning mousse I have used before and also has a lovely Almond scent which stays on the skin afterwards , in fact I could still smell it the next day.
The mousse is smooth to apply but I do feel I had a little texture issue with application.
I was OK applying it at first but as I continued to apply the tanning mousse in a circular motion onto my previously cleansed and exfoliated skin, I found that the mixture started to form somewhat of a very thin cream like substance which made it a little harder to apply, I really can not describe it but it was not something I was used to with tanning mousse .
I found that the product dried very quickly into the skin, I did not have to wait around for a few minutes before adding my clothing and carrying on with my normal routine.
After only 2 hours I took a peak at the result of the developed shade and was pleasantly surprised (although having some difficulty with the texture during application) that the tan was left streak free and a lovely natural shade.
To be honest I actually find the product quite pricey and being more expensive than my trusted self tanning mousse I would be unsure of wearing this in the summer due to the fact it did not go dark enough for my liking but for the winter months where I am looking for a lighter shade , one that has a more natural shade , this is perfect as it has no orange tone to it.
I think this is a product that is more appealing to those of a paler skin tone, those who have paler skin would be more suited to this product because of its very light shade.
What do you think of tanning mousse , is it your preferred application style ?

I'm very bad at applying self tan. I manage to get streaks in it and generally make a mess! This looks good for pale skin like mine though. I love the smell of almonds.
9/2/2015 01:58:47 pm
have you tried using the mitt, i used to be the same but using the mitt makes it merely impossible to get those horrid streaks x
3/3/2015 06:19:59 am
otilia im the same this is why i prefer the mousse
9/2/2015 10:12:38 am
The orange 'tint' is what generally puts me off of fake tan but this looks great and I like that it's quite subtle...and the almond smell is a bonus!
9/2/2015 02:39:43 pm
im the same always feared ide end up looking like an umpa lumpa lol , this however is very faint or as dark as you wish it to be depending on the length of time you leave it on for so you can cater the shade to your own taste x
9/2/2015 10:16:32 am
I;ve never tried tanning products or tanning mousses actually, so it's quite interesting to read a review about them - thank you for sharing :) x
9/2/2015 02:40:25 pm
I hpe you give it a try , always nice to try new things x
9/2/2015 10:17:52 am
I am a frequent user of this tan and i absolutely love it! i am naturally quite olive skinned so with mine i usually leave it 4 hours to develop which gives me a really dark tan, or i even sleep in it and wash it off in the morning! Love how it doesnt leave any streaks too!
9/2/2015 02:41:20 pm
I think I will give that a try in the summer , build it up more for a darker shade, I do love the lighter more natural shade though x
9/2/2015 02:42:20 pm
I am still trying to pluck up the courage to do my face, ive seen so many people do it so calmly as if they were just applying their moisturiser but im scared to lol x
9/2/2015 10:43:40 am
I've never used a tanning product and think I'd be too nervous to try!
9/2/2015 02:43:42 pm
this would be agreat starter then , you can see it gradually build iin shade, and the longer you leave it the darker it gets so its up to you what shade you want to go x
9/2/2015 10:55:17 am
I am so pale that even the lightest tanning makes me look like a digestive!
9/2/2015 02:44:23 pm
I thought that when i tried them but i then found it was the application that i was making a mistake with x
9/2/2015 11:06:28 am
I have never used fake tan, my sister is an avid user but my fear of looking orange (one of my sisters trial runs) keeps me away .. although i might have to brave it on my legs to see what happens!
9/2/2015 02:45:29 pm
haha i know that too well my friend done the same to me and i stopped using it for 15 years till i plucked courage up again lol x
9/2/2015 11:06:29 am
Wow the results are great I love the colour - I have really pale skin so I think it would work for me :)
9/2/2015 02:47:40 pm
I think this is fantastic for paler skins, you would like this x
9/2/2015 11:08:45 am
I am so pale that I think that even with the lightest shade of tan I'd look silly.
9/2/2015 02:48:31 pm
oh im sure if you had it applied correctly you would like it, maybe a tinted moisturiser then x
9/2/2015 11:25:02 am
I've never used tanning mousse, after watching that episode of Friends where it goes so wrong for Ross, I've been scared off for life!!
9/2/2015 02:51:10 pm
haha i remember that one its enough to scare anyone x
9/2/2015 11:38:26 am
Yes I use mousse sometimes but probably a lotion more often, I have really pale skin so probably would be okay on me.
9/2/2015 02:47:02 pm
I cant seem to be able to get used to the lotions x
9/2/2015 12:48:15 pm
I am so crap at applying it, it always comes off the inside of my elbow randomly! x
9/2/2015 02:50:15 pm
haha i always get that one spot on inner arm caught in it too lol, i tend to keep one old black tshirt for when im doing my legs now so it doesnt transfer lol, i do think the mitt helps so much though i have always struggled with streaks and terrible looking tan now im always happy x
9/2/2015 12:55:57 pm
This looks like great natural colour :) xxx
9/2/2015 02:46:30 pm
it was a nice surprise to find a natural looking tan , especially in the winter while i needed a less unoticable fake look x
9/2/2015 01:14:32 pm
I used tanning mousse once but I didn't like the smell so wouldn't use it again.
9/2/2015 02:38:27 pm
that is the same with me this has a lovely almond scent which is nice x
9/2/2015 02:37:39 pm
i would suggest using a mitt as i was exactly that without one x
9/2/2015 03:02:07 pm
I don't think I've ever gone streak free so don't bother lol
3/3/2015 05:44:45 am
I would definitely recommend the tanning mitt
9/2/2015 03:33:46 pm
I think getting a natural tan is better than using creams. Thankfully, I don't need to worry about getting a tan. Lol
3/3/2015 05:45:42 am
i think with the growing fear of sun rays causing damage to skin , people feel it safer to use creams
3/3/2015 05:46:41 am
using the tanning mitt has to be my biggest tip, always gives streak free look
10/2/2015 12:23:59 am
Hi, I find fake tan very difficult to get right as it always seems to go streaky. I am not embracing pale legs instead :)
3/3/2015 05:47:40 am
Ii often do take to wearing the pale look also but for special occasions i do like to give this a try when im letting the legs out x
10/2/2015 12:44:11 am
I have NEVER applied false tan - I'm a bit scared of it! Would love to hear your recommendations for easy application for pale skin #NEBrilliantbloggers
3/3/2015 05:50:18 am
i was the same and it was only last summer i actually gave it a real chance, i find using the mitt helps immensly, and ensure you leave a full day before applying another coat to ensure the colour has settled and in some cases become darker which is why some make the mistake of getting that orange look or too dark to look natural look, for me , I always find just one application does it , a natural look without looking fake x
3/3/2015 05:51:20 am
cocoa brown is also a great brand but can be a little darker than some may like same goes for the fake bake although i really love that also x
10/2/2015 04:35:57 am
The results on this look great x
3/3/2015 05:52:32 am
its always nice to get a natural look, makes me pleased to use it more
10/2/2015 05:40:43 am
I am naturally very pale and have never played with fake tans as worry about it looking an odd shade on me - but perhaps this would be a good one to start with as it is subtle!
3/3/2015 05:53:39 am
I always try it on my legs during the winter to see the results first , then its easy to hide , then wehn it comes to the summer i know which to use and which works best for different shades x
10/2/2015 06:52:34 am
You're brave, testing a tanning product on pale skin at this time of the year. But the end results do look good!
3/3/2015 06:15:56 am
haha , its the greatest time i can hide the legs behind trousers if it doesnt work out lol x
10/2/2015 11:28:03 am
I'm very very pale, to the point where I can't actually find makeup light enough so tanning products scare me!
3/3/2015 06:18:00 am
my legs are like milk bottles yet the rest of my body fails to stay as pale x
12/2/2015 04:27:11 am
I love how you put so much detail into your posts!
3/3/2015 06:21:18 am
thank you charlotte, i never go on holiday so with british weather i am doubtful of ever getting a healthy natural glow
3/3/2015 06:18:55 am
im so pleased the tanning products have moved on , i never faked it as your totally right, they were always too orange
15/2/2015 07:29:44 am
I'm in the pale boat too, I tend to steer clear of tanning products as I think I would just look a bit ridiculous! x
3/3/2015 06:22:12 am
this would be a great product for you then as I found this very pale for the first application x
