Maybelline Baby Lips - Lip Balms Review

I was in one of my favourite local stores the other day and spotted a bargain .

As you may have guessed the Poundland store is full of wonders and you have to take the time in the beauty department for those once in a lifetime bargain chances.
Last month I spent my time in the shop routing for Self adhesive Eylure Lashes, priced in drugstores at £5.99 but being only £1 in the Poundland store, I made sure I picked them all from the shelf in bundles of 15's each time I visited.
I know I should have left them for others but when a bargain like that is right there in front of you , you have to get them before they go.

This time however, Maybelline Baby lips lip balms were there and having seen many others going crazy over them I made sure to pick up just four.
I thought they were all different scents but once home I found I picked a double up , so I got three of them and gave one to my daughter.
I thought I would give them a try and if they are there again next time I will grab the lot lol.

It is funny what that shop does to me, I seem to find a bargain like that and then go on a hoarding spree with one or two products  (depending on what is there at the time), It is like I feel the need to stock up incase they are not there the next time I return.

I think it comes with being mum to 7 . I hate spending money but am the typical girl who loves nice things , especially when it comes to beauty products and stationary. I therefore look for bargains all of the time and every time I walk into that store there's something on the beauty stall ready to jump of the shelves and into my basket , (I am telling you , they really do have secret little legs and actually climb on their own).

The three Maybelline Baby Lips Lipbalm scents I picked up were -

  • x2 Mango Pie
  • Anti Oxidant Berry
  • Smoothing Cherry

Yes all for only £1 each - Bargain!

I always like to use Lip Balms , especially in the summer and because they have an SPF in them I felt these were a great buy .
Either way , if I was not going to like them , then my three little girls and even my son would take them from my hands I am sure.

So what do Maybelline have to say about their product?

What I have to say about them-

So I have to be honest, I do not usually suffer with dry lips , not unless I am run down , or poorly so really for me Lip Balms are used to keep my lips soft and smooth for kissing especially .

Packaging -

I think as always , Maybelline have made these bright and colourful and I like the clours they have chose.
For me Maybelline always seem to have packaging that is aimed more towards the younger generation and although it is not a huge problem for me, I do somehow feel a little silly all dressed up looking lady like pulling one of these out of my pocket.
With a typical pop of cap and twist up lip balm this is easy to carry and hold in your hands .
I prefer the twist up method instead of dipping my fingers into the tub where bacteria can be easily transferred.

Price -

Ok so I got these for a cheaper than normal price at only £1 , so I can not grumble at all .
I think people were paying around £2 or £3 each depending on the shops they purchased them from and I would normally pay that for a lip balm anyway so it is reasonably priced.
Picture
Conclusion-

I love lip balms so I did not think that there was going to be anything bad to say about this line anyway , and I was right.
I love the three scents that I received although the mango pie was not to my liking , never been much a fan , shame it was that one I doubled up on to be honest.

I was not expecting anything like a lip tint as they all go on clear so just a nice sheen is added to my lips.

My favourite of the three has to be the Anti-oxidant berry merely for the flavour (well not the flavour as you can not actually taste it but the scent more).

I have been using the balms before applying my lipstick which has given me a great soft, smooth feeling lip also leaving them look soft like baby skin ( hence the name Baby lips).

There is nothing spectacular about this lip balm and to be honest do not understant why there was such a hype about them although they do what they say and leave your lips soft with the extra SPF benefit.

If you like lip balms then it is worth getting but they are not any better than others I have tried .
Do you like using lip balms, have you got these , what is your most loved lip balm ?

I've seen a lot of discussion over whether or not these are the genuine article, they're very different from the ones you buy in Superdrug or boots, odd

Oh fab, I was never sure as I was tempted by these before they came over to the uk but some said genuine, some said fake so I didn't bother.

I like the tinted ones you can get, not sure I'd get the untinted as I have waaaaay too many lip balms as it is haha

I've not seen these before. They look like they have a great price tag. I usually use Burts Bees mint lip balm as I don't need much and it makes my lips tingle. It is quite expensive though but lasts for a long time.

I'm with you, I think these lip balms are a tad overrated. They smell nice and make your lips soft and moist (like all good lip balms do!). I was a little disappointed when I first bought mines especially since I paid $8 for them :( You, however, got a GREAT deal! Lol.
