Ok , being mum to 7 can give you a headaches just thinking about it but for me, I actually rarely get them but when I do its bad. I am continuously battling with aches and pains but having bad anxiety , I have a phobia of taking any type of medication, I simply refuse and am scared to take any form of medicine need it be liquid, tablet or even injections . I am not quite sure where it all stemmed from but I have been like that for over 3 years now and although there have been times when I have had to take medicine, I simply have not but my own body has healed itself and become better on its own. There is something that I can use though and lately it has become useful especially as the colder days are here and headaches become more and more frequent. ''Oi You Throbhead'' ''Oi You Throbhead'' is one of Anatomicals products that I have been using lately , not just me , my husband also , and it is now in my handbag to take with me where ever I go. Who are Anatomicals? Anatomicals are a company who sell products that are animal friendly and paraben free, they only want what is natural for your body and their products have the quirkiest catch phrase titles that make you chuckle a little . What do they say about Oi You Throbhead? To add insult (although we see ‘throbhead’ of more of a condition than an insult to injury), you’ve also got a jolting pain. Rub this balm into your temples, if you don’t you’re a blithering ignoramus, now that’s an insult!” With this magic potion of essential oils and extracts they promise to untie all the knots filling up your throbbing head. The only thing that you need from a headache is relief and instantly, ''Oi You Throbhead'' gives exactly that because it is cooling the relief is effective as soon as it is applied to the head due to the menthal crystals and mint . The lavender balances out the cooling mint by giving you the sense of calmness and relaxation and Eucalyptus helps stimulation and refreshes the senses . How to use - You only need a small amount for the balm to take immediate effect so rub a small amount on the forehead, temples and back of the neck , take a deep breath and relax while ''Oi You Throbhead'' works its magic. Caution - Ensure you avoid the eye area and damaged skin . Ingredients - Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Golden Yellow Beeswax, Peppermint Oil, Lavender Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Mandarin Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Rosehip Extract & Calendula Extract. Fragrance, CI19140, CI15985 Cost - £5.00 Where to buy - Anatomicals First of all I have to admit that my husband was the first to try this out and I had to laugh when he applied it and started telling me that it was burning him . That was not the case as he slowley relaxed within 2 minutes after application and realised it was in fact the menthal cooling ingredient in the product that actually eased the headache he had been struggling to fix with multiple paracetamol tablets he had been taking previously with no effect. Having stopped laughing at his first experience with menthal ingredients in a beauty balm , I then decided I would give it a go also . For me the little tins are adorable and perfect for reusing once emptied for those other things such as making a handy homemade lip balm for the children or even taking a small amount of vaseline from the big tubs and using the tub as a handy take out . I like that it has a funny catch line to the product to read on opening it to introduce you to what the product is . I have had some products from different brands that use a similar tin packaging and have found it very difficult to remove the lid without snapping a few of the nails I had been trying to grow for months previously but this is secure enough to stay on and easily removed without stressing you out any more than you need to . This product is much more caring than the 4head stick that my mum in law applied to my daughter when she had a headache, honestly , the 4head stick stung her eyes it was that strong and we had to remove it straight away as the vapour was more like a vix vapour rub than a relaxing headache relief balm. Luckily this is more friendly and you do not feel like your being blinded or have a strong mint aroma that gives you even more a headache, it soothes and relaxes you exactly like it says it does. Being a balm, I expected that it would be oily but to be honest it is not as oily as I thought and although it glides on the skin like an oil it actually soaks in and dries up completely , which to me is fantastic as it means the extra oil is not going to bring me out in spots and blemishes .
The scent is fresh and once it is applied it actually settles nicely and wears down a little , the only thing you get is a slight menthol scent which is not over bearing but enough to still awaken you . I did find this to me more effective than of those who had tried it and paired it with tablets on blog reviews I had read previously but Like I said I am scared of taking tablets and so it is not an option at all for me . The headache I had was eased dramatically , my head still had that tight feeling from the headache but the pain was dramatically reduced and I did feel relieved which was fantastic . So now that my whole family has given this a go , I can clearly agree that it is one of out family ailments that is not harmful and safe for all. No more need for taking paracetamol or Nurofen for our headaches, we simply add this and sit back with a hot warm cocoa . So what do you think, will you, have you gave it a go, let me know in the comments or tweet me over at @Lisasbeauties
