So for some of you , you may be wondering why I am doing a post in the middle of winter on Self tan, especially as most of us are covered up in jogger bottoms and jeans . I hear you I honestly do, but for others like me , I actually love to use self tan in the winter because it helps me to look healthier as I go paler than white and to me it makes me look quite poorly . I also love the look of a healthy looking tan in winter not only when I may wear the odd skirt or dress at special occasions but also at home with my snow-boot slippers and long wooly jumpers I tend to wear quite often . As you can see my legs really are milky white and being mum of 7 I neither have the time nor money to visit salons especially near Christmas with so much to do. Sunkissed have been selling bronzing beauty products since 2005 and pride themselves on supplying fantastic products , I actually own their face powder bronzer and exfoliating tan remover and tanning mitt and have always been pleased with their range. You can see some pretty amazing gift sets that are affordable and that would be ideal for your lady friends and family over on their site here. So today I am sharing with you my thoughts on the Sunkissed Medium self tan mousse which is only priced at £4.99. What they say about it- The SUNKISSED Self-tan Mousse 200ml, delivers an instant natural bronze tan that smells divine and lasts for up to 5 days. The easy to apply, lightweight foam formulation absorbs and dries quickly on the skin, whilst moisturising ingredients Aloe Vera and Glycerin leave it feeling smooth and hydrated. The Medium Bronze mousse is perfect for fair to medium skin giving you a deep golden glow. Kind to skin this dermatologically approved formula contains no parabens or alcohol. For a perfect streak free finish everytime we recommend using theSunkissed Application mitt , and why not try the Sunkissed Gradual Tanning Lotion in Light Bronze between applications to keep your tan topped up and your skin beautifully moisturised. Ingredients - AQUA (WATER), DIHYDROXYACETONE, GLYCERIN, BIS-PEG/PPG-20/20 DIMETHICONE, DECYL GLUCOSIDE, POLYSORBATE 20, PHENOXYETHANOL, AMMONIUM LAURYL SULFATE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), IMIDAZOLIDINYL UREA, ALOE BARBADENSIS (ALOE VERA) LEAF EXTRACT, CITRIC ACID, LINALOOL, SODIUM BENZOATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, CI 19140 (YELLOW NO 5), CI 16035 (RED 40), CI 42090 (BLUE NO 1) In the picture below , you can see that the mousse is very bubbly like and very light . Being such a fantastic consistency , this means that if you have hair stubble or hairs on the skin, the mousse with work around them meaning that you won't get those darker spots in the pores and using the mitt that you can get from them is a great way to get that even shade all over which I also love as I now do not have to worry about staining on my hands. For me, I wanted to test this without moisturising or anything and so I prepped the skin the night before by exfoliating and removing hairs and ensuring that I had no moisturiser or dirt on my legs for the application the day afterwards hence why my skin looks so dry. To me this was the true test of the self tan, I wanted to ensure that if I was in a hurry , my skin would be able to hold the tan and not turn patchy where dry areas of my skin were and here is the first application result. As you can see, the mousse gave a very lovely shade on the skin , natural and not orange as some other brands may give . My pores on my skin are lifted due to the cold weather but as you can see , there is no sign of imbedded excess self tan which to me is a fantastic sign. Considering I had no moisturiser on my skin at all this tan went on very even and I had no streaks or patches in sight. I was very pleased , especially as I then decided to do my other leg to get the matching pair, I would have looked rather silly If I had left them because of the difference . I do think that using the mitt is advisable , there is nothing pretty or discreate about self tan when you have orange stained hands and to me it just seems sensible . The mitts are very inexpensive and are also easily reusable , I have shown a picture here of what a used mitt looks like on the left and on the right is a mitt that has been washed immediately after use , spotless. All I used was a little soap in the skin and rinsed it well , left it on the radiator to dry and placed it back in my self tan supply box ready to use again the next time. The scent of self tans to me can sometimes knock me sick, you can smell the strong aroma and I for one hate it so end up washing it off to get rid of it which also means no more self tan. Fortunately the Sunkissed Medium Mousse has a delightful scent which is not dreadful at all and is quite appealing. The aroma is lovely and sweet and reminds me of butter cream fudge . Very pleasant and subtle as it wears down during the course of wearing it. So there you have it , the results of using Sunkissed bronzing mousse has been a result and I would give it full marks for how well it lasted on my legs as well as the even wear off which I sometimes regret .
I would love to know if you have tried this or if you are willing to , let me know what you think ?
