After expressing my interest in the Tanworx line with Monu Skincare , Monu happily sent me one of their products to test out . I of course accepted as I am so interested in collaberating with this brand , and heres a little as to why . Here is what they say-
TANWORX from MONU Over the years my natural golden glow has since dissapeared , I used to have a beautiful colour on my skin but age seems to have stripped that from me . Although out British weather does sometimes bring us some beautiful rays, I for one am quite terrified at the prospect of soaking them into my skin. I have never enjoyed sunbathing nor do I think that sunbeds are an option for me. You hear so many stories about the effects that sunbathing and Sunbeds have on your skin that I wish to either stay pale or try a self tan product, and the past few years I have tried many . For me this is the safest and most effective way to look like I have been on a holiday abroad or even just to look a little healthier than my pale white complexion allows me to . The Tanworx range from Monu have a wide variety of products to choose from including foams, lotions, liquids and sprays . They also have various preperation and after care products to maintain that beautiful glow. For me I have always found that the foams work best for me in the tanning part. TANWORX is the perfect addition to the MONU Skincare range for a natural looking tan that lasts. Being a mum to 7 and always on the go, I never have time to visit the salons or have someone come to my home to get that professional spray tan . For me , the self tan option is easy, effective and also a saving for me as I get more out of a bottle for a longer length of time and also able to build the colour to my liking . I have had many experiences getting spray tans where they assure me I will not turn orange, yet as soon as I have hit the outdoors and the sunlight shows my new colour , I am orange and honestly there is nothing natural about being orange. I am sure many of you would have had the experience to.You just feel shameful, hiding away for a week hoping it washes out quickly or no one notices, but they always do! For those with a darker skin tone, Monu say to use the Express Tan Liquid, They say it perfect for creating a deep and noticeable colour change from the natural skin tone. They say that the the lightweight liquid is easy to apply, resulting in instant colour that intensifies over a period of 3 – 8 hours for a streak-free finish that gradually and evenly fades. Apply this formula with a mitt to ensure smooth and even coverage. I do not have a tanning mitt , I think it would waste product and prefer to use my hands or if you are scared of dying on your hands then a pair of latex gloves are even better. They also say that if you like the idea of an intense tan, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge, ease yourself in with the Self Tanning Lotion. Monu ensure that the creamy solution works to hydrate and condition the skin whilst providing it with a natural, golden glow. This instant colour develops over a period of 3 - 8 hours into a deep, long-lasting and streak free tan and we all want streak free . My favourite of the selection is of course their next choice of self tanning. The Self Tan Foam, its light, velvety texture glides onto the skin for all-over, instant colour that develops and deepens. This quick-drying formula results in a natural and even, bronzed glow. For me time is of the essence and I need something fast and effective . This for me is my choice as I like to see an instant result and then able to see a slow graduation in my tan building up . There is of course (for those looking to top up their tan mid-week), the Instant Self Tanning Spray it is lightweight, non-sticky mist absorbs quickly into the skin to provide an enviable glow in an instant. This is best for quick-fix application to areas such as the hands, feet and face, where tan is likely to fade faster than other areas of the body. Being aware of how sprays do not like my skin and have been known to leave my tan looking steaky , I would actually like to test this one . The best way to prepare your skin for self tanning is to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise all areas and Monu have an Exfoliating Body Cream. Using the conditioning scrub promises to gently refine and balance skin tone and texture. I have not tried this yet but I did use the Kissglove as I was in need of an exfoliation (review to follow). Monu did also send me a moisturiser ( Monu enriched body cream ) to use to Nourish and hydrate my skin which I will also do a review on later . DESCRIPTION
HOW TO USE:
Ingredients - Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Dihydroxyacetone, Dipropylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polysorbate 20, Parfum (Freagrance), Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchlorisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Triethylene Glycol, Magnesium Nitrate, Magnesium Chloride, Cl16035, Acid yellow 23 Aluminium lake (Cl 19140:1) Acid blue 9 Aluminium lake (Cl42090:2) , Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool. So lets see how Tanworx worked for me - Packaging - The Tanworx bottle is black and has a pop of Magenta pink with white Labelling to make it look smart and stand out. It has a Pump action method which is usual for a foam self tanning product and this makes it easy to use with no mess or bacteria getting into the product. I love this about this style product. Price - For me all self tanning products seem quite pricey but in my opinion it would cost £20 to get a spray tan or have it done professionally at a salon around my area. It would last only 2 weeks before needing a top up for another £10, (bearing in mind my past experiences left me orange and streaky) . I find £20 for Tanworx is a great price and it will last me a lot longer, (past experiences of a bottle this size has been a full summer and extra for those xmas celebrations, so around 20 uses) That would cost me a staggering £400 at the salon and I definitely have no intentions on wasting money if I can make a saving for a better effect which takes less time out of my busy schedule. So for me , I think £20 is a bargain . Scent - Most of the self tanning products, I have used has a very strong scent which I hate. You can smell the nasties and this is what I love about Tanworx. The scent is lovely almost a baby lotion scent which to me is good. You only smell it as you apply , once soaked into the skin , I can not smell it . My conclusion - So to be fare I had to do only one leg at a time , (my children ran round frantically laughing at me with one leg tanned and one leg white, they thought it quite funny untill I matched them later on).
This is to show you the difference in just 1 application using this product. I have to say that I am very impressed and love the finishing colour tone that this product has . The application was very simple. After cleansing, and exfoliating my legs , I added four squirts to the front of my leg and started to rub the foam in circular movements ensuring I cover the whole leg, front and back. You can see the colour instantly and it gradually gets deeper within 3+ hours . There is no stickiness to using this product at all and it dries instantly which is excellent as I am always in a hurry and have no time to be walking around the house in that funny walk we have to do usually. I usually feel scared to cover the knee and ankle area but I went with this as directed and was surprised that none of those areas had any deeper tone than the rest of my leg. I could not see any uneven tone and most importantly NO STREAK MARKS! To me the colour is lovely, It does not have the orange colouring to it and IT LOOKS COMPLETELY NATURAL. For me , I have found my perfect tanning lotion this year. I am confident that I am using a natural looking tan that is easy and affordable for me . Also even though I had not used a gloves in this case to apply the Tanworx product, I washed my hands immediately and it left no staining . Definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a natural looking tan that can be achieved in less than 5 minutes at an affordable price with no hassle or streak marks. Do you use tanning products, will you be trying this? Leave your answers below and if you have any questions please feel free to ask .

I can't imagine applying fake tan but that's probably because I rarely get my legs out! Like Cass I'm so pale I think it would show terribly.

I don't like the nasty smell or streaks that some leave so this sounds great - I'm tempted to buy some once my current tan has faded! x

This looks like a good product which will not break the bank balance. It is good to see that it gives you a natural glow instead of looking orange. Thanks for sharing.
