There is a new baby in our home

Ok , earlier last year , you may remember that my husband was going all goo gaa over wanting another baby, well nothing much changed up untill Christmas and when  he decided to inform me he wanted another German Shepherd pup and I told him , NO!

There really is no chance that I want any more babies , being mum to 7 already is pretty darn mental already in my mind, but he tried to make me believe that I was able to cope with a new pup instead.
So I sat him down , told him my pro's and con's and of course the blue eyes fluttered at me and I gave in after three hours telling him he was not getting one .

I know I am terrible, I simply can not say no, I love my husband and he does get everything he wants , usually with no effort at all , but given the choice of a puppy or a real baby , I simply gave in and let him have the Puppy.

He sat looking for some cute little fur balls on the social networking sites and sales pages and with in only 1 night he had one litter picked and I was soon in the car taking a trip to go take a look , putting down a deposit and meeting its parents and home.

This was our visit to  see the pup at only 4 weeks old.

Ok , I know I originially said no and I tried so hard not to like it so much , but look at it.

We walked in and all the little pups ran around our feet but this little one was the biggest there (the thing my husband looks for in a German Shepherd) and the only white one.

Wanting to make sure we chose a female because we already had a male who had been castrated and  the female who was not , it seemed fitting  to choose another female.

We had already heard that white German Shepherds are frowned up on due to the fact white is not there usual breed colouring , but we loved her even more because of it and due to the fact we already have two older ones , one a full long haired breed and the other half breed short haired, we took to her the most and decided to put the deposit down instantly .

Amazingly this little pup was so independant that she was already feeding herself on dry food and because it was Christmas the lady seemed fine to let her go 2 weeks earlier than the usual expectancy. I told the lady I would come back to pick her up Christmas Eve .

We still had a whole two weeks before being able to take her home which to no surprise aggravated my husband which in turn annoyed me due to him moaning on he wanted to take her home  right that instant.

Tough !

It was in fact the day before Christmas Eve where my husband finished work early ,  knew exactly what he was trying to do , pick the pup up early and of course with it being Christmas ,  let him , but not before we went to get her new things , certainly a new cage to train her for her sleeping pattern and also stopping her from chewing on things while we left her home to go out on occasions.

Once he had managed to get everything he needed , he then went to get his Christmas present from me early and I have to say , I wish I had done it earlier , he was like a new dad all over again the way he was with her.

Now at 6 weeks , she was even cuter than I could remember and fluffier for sure, My husband named her Bear Instantly and she settled very well with the other dogs .
Picture
Within a week she was ruling the whole household including the two bigger dogs and we did find she loved playing with the girls new Barbie dolls .
Picture
She seems to be doing well, she had her first lot of injections last week and we asked the vets when she would be able to go into the garden with the other dogs to be advised that if we cleaned it she was able to go in after 48 hours .

Now three weeks at her new home tomorrow , she is eating perfectly, going to the toilet outside along with the other  dogs and blended well with the family well.
Picture
Bear is adapting to life in the outside also, she loves to go out and when it comes to being told to come back in she simply lays flat on her belly and refuses to come in , the male of the dogs who is the middle aged one (the teen as I call him, as he acts like a moody teen constantly ) plays with her all the time, he loves to chase her and although he is trying to dominate her , she is not letting him considering her small size , she is brave , The name Bear definitely suits her .
Picture
For the first two weeks we slept on the sofa down stairs, it honestly felt just as bad as having a new born baby , up till late hours and up early in the morning .
She wined if we left her alone and so we have been taking her up stairs in her cage and letting her sleep with us and the other two dogs in our bedroom and since then although still up early crying on to be out , she is sleeping well .

It really is like having a new baby , cleaning up poop and wee when they have an accident , feeding them , watering them, running around all hours taking items that they shouldn't have hold of out of their mouths and being up till all hours trying to settle them .

All the hard work that comes with having a new puppy certainly is like being a new parent again but look at her , isn't she adorable, how do you like our new family member?

OMG she is adorable! Bear seems to be a popular name for small cute dogs, as some of my friend's named their dogs Bear as well. I'm actually looking for a pup, too so thank you so much for sharing your story as I found some useful tips in there. Hope to speak soon xxxx
