W7 - Trying their Makeup Brushes and Sponge applicator

Ok so the girls makeup collection gets so much bigger as you come to realise how fun it is to collect, but what about the main ingredient you need to add to your perfect application of your most loved makeup?

Since being a teenager Ii remember not even buying makeup brushes , I simply preferred to use my fingers and still do with some aspects of application such as highlighters but I now try to use a brush and recently those magical sponge applicators.

W7cosmetics.co.uk have a lovely range which have been attracting me to getting some myself and I have ended up with three of them in my makeup case which Ii think you would be interested in seeing.

First up we have.......

The Sponge Application Brush available for £3.95
I have to be honest, I hate the huge trending thing with the beauty blender . Everyone makes it so easy looking to achieve but in reality they must have either three tons of foundation on their sponge to get that thick perfected look or they simply have perfect skin and in need of very little makeup to start with, that or they have spent forever practicing with the sponge .
I did think this would be very similar to the beauty blender and it is , so it was no shock when it arrived and I gave it a whirl to find that it does apply foundation but not as easily as my foundation brush .

It was lovely and soft to use, the sponge bounced well on the skin but for me personally, I found it difficult to work with without looking like I had three layers of foundation on even when I did blend it for forever.
It was however perfect for blending in concealer as only a small amount is needed in a small area and the different angles on the brush make it easy to navigate around the eye area.
Not only did I find that it was a nightmare to use, but I also found it a huge waste on my expensive foundation as I lost half of the product in the sponge itself .
I hate waste.........

For me I am definitely staying away from the sponge , it just is not for me , but if your a fan of the beauty blenders then I would suggest giving it a try .

Next up ....

The Eyeshadow brush 01 available for £3.95

I have to be honest , I find these eyeshadow brushes best suited for the under brow high lightening and this is exactly what I have been using mine for as it gives that perfect angle for the brow bone touch ups.
The brush is flat with synthetic hairs and this is why it makes the perfect brush for blending harsh edges .
I found this lovely and soft on the lid and perfect for those higher pigmented shadows.

Last but not least...

Smudger brush available for £3.95
Picture
This brush (well sponge) has two sides to it. One side is white and the other is a salmon pink shade .
This reminds me of those free makeup applicators you used to get as a child in your makeup palette and to be fare it looks exactly the same but it feels very different.
The sponge is amazingly soft and smooth and I have found this the perfect smudger for that that bottom lid of the eye for those striking colour mixes. Perfect for the smokey eye which I wear regular.

For me , makeup will always an addiction and the makeup application need that be brush or sponge will always be a need in my  regime but how do you prefer to apply your makeup ?

Hmm I'm not so sure about these, the smudger sponge looks like it could fall off. Great review, very thorough x

I only just bought foundation brushes this year and yet I still end up using my fingers :) For my eyes I use the bush that came with my Naked palette - I'm not very knowledgeable about these things at all :)

I only use a brush for sweeping over face powder and blush, and then one for eye shadow.

I did have a beauty blender, but I stopped using it, and just use my fingers as I've done forever lol

I only started realising the value of good brushes a few years ago and it really can make a difference. I never get on with sponges though :/
