Gaming Weekend Fun with Pork Farms & Hasbro

We were all set to celebrate one of the most exciting weeks ever in the Gaming world and we prepared ourselves for a murder mystery night for just the adults .
Unfortunately we all became pretty poorly with head colds and were not quite up to it so instead we decided on making it a full weekend of gaming fun for all the family .

This week Pork Farms hosted the National Games Week and in celebration we wanted to be apart of it .

Most weekends our household grab a few games from the cupboard and enjoy some family time and this weekend it seemed with the terrible weather and poorly few helped us in deciding board games and a little bit of competitive spirit would be just what we needed to bring the house back to its cheerful state.

We all have our favourites and our games have all been played over and over again but there are always the few that are brought out time after time .

Classics like Monopoly, Cluedo , Connect 4, Hungry Hippos seems to be just a few of our family favourites , something for every one and something for all ages. One of those games were missing though and we were so pleased when Hasbro kindly sent us Cluedo in the post to enjoy .

We spent our whole weekend enjoying some of the much loved games such as Monopoly , Scrabble, Operation and even Bop it were just a few.

Now I have to admit , when it comes to board games , unless it has something innapropriate for my children like naughty words and such , I never really put an age limit on who can play and who can not, we simply spend a little more time helping the younger ones out so they can join in also if they wish to  and so when my two younger boys asked to join in on Cluedo I was more than happy for them to .

The Game is aimed for 8 years and over but we found that from ages 6 years , the instructions were easily followed .
Picture
The aim of the game is to find out who killed Samuel Black and there are 6 subjects which are you , the players.
There are 6 suspects, 6 weapons and 9 rooms , and you as an individual need to find out who killed him with what weapon and in which room by eliminating your person, weapon and room by asking questions on each of your turns.
You get a few things to help you get started like reveal cards which you get to see only by yourself from the start and Bonus cards which can be picked up by landing on a question mark on the board.
You also get a checklist piece of paper to which you can tick of those clues as you find them.

The answers to whome did what in which room has already been placed carefully without anyone else knowing inside the Yellow Cluedo case file Envelope and you need to find our which cards are in there before anyone else does to win the game.

The game lasted us a good half hour at each time and we had great fun.

We are quite a competitive family and it became very heated once the adults decided to join in a little but the children loved not knowing if they were the killer or not and the suspense kept them very much interested.

Hasbro Cluedo can be bought form many leading retailers for around £17.
Board games live a lifetime in our home and they have many more that suit everyone for every type of play .

So which is your favourite game and when do you find board games are to be brought out?

W will be taking many games with us on our new camping ventures .

I love it when families all sit down and play boards games! My family aren't quite into it so I keep saying I'm going to plan a monopoly night or something with my friends. My boyfriend is at uni, 3 hours away, but we still play scrabble on the iphone app against each other and it's a lot of fun!

I love board games. We don't play them nearly as often as we should though. Scrabble has to be my favourite, or Trivial Pursuit.
