Home made love is the best kind.

Yesterday , many of us celebrated Mothers Day in some way or other.

For me it started from being allowed some sort of sleep in. I am not sure I actually did as he clocks had been put back an hour so in fact I still lost an hour lol.

I woke with the little ones down staires arguing and fighting on as per usual. The husband had decided to go into the garden to fix his once again broken van (I am sick of hearing about motors , I really am and have no interest in his cries for help once again ).

After settling the little ones, I sat with a cup of tea made by my eldest daughter who is soon turning 10. The others just goggle eyed the PS3 which my youngest son aged 4 was playing . I was just pleased they were finally quiet to be honest so left them to it.

My little boy Kaiden and Leon had made me poems each  with their hand prints on a hanging frame at school . I absolutely love it when they make me something, I just wish I had the space to keep everything in one place , I do try especially things like this. They were too busy to acknowledge me as toddlers do when a computer is on until an hour later when they both gave me huge kisses and cuddles .

I then opened my card from them all and my husband and soon as I had finished my eldest once again got all excited shouting

'' Happy Mums Day I made these for you ! ''

I did not know where to start , I could see she had tried her very best to do so much with , as you can see a lot of effort put into each and every item. I loved them all and once again was smothered in squashes.

Little Libby came running down stairs after getting washed and ready holding her card she made. She was all excited on Friday telling me all about it , so I told her to hide it till Sunday , Honestly I did not peak before hand .

Once a fortnight my husbands son comes to stay on weekends and to be honest I was not expecting him to pull a card he made out of his school bag. I was actually surprised as my husband buys one from them all so usually he just adds his name to that so it was lovely to know he had thought of me . Quite overwhelming actually . I was over the moon .

The previous post showed me asking for a Journal I was asking for from the children and although my husband promises me the other was out of stock and will be here shortly , I received this one which I really wished for yesterday. I love these journals and with the gold on the out side edges of the book it makes it feel special before I even fill it, I can not wait for my Mum journal to come.
I had rather an interesting weekend and actually think the first line added to my journal fits in perfectly with how I was feeling that day .

My weekend was very relaxed as it usually is when the weather is not so good so I spent it cleaning up, cooking and of course the most of it sat on the sofa watching movies. I do not believe in making a fuss over a mum for only one day a year, it should be all through out but it was lovely to just chill out (except of course having their meals to cook) lol.

My ideal day is in my own home anyway, I love my home comforts with my blanky, movies and snacks and maybe that bottle to enjoy while snuggled on the sofa. I am so happy my children made me home made presents and cards  and loved all my snuggles and kisses from each and every one of them . I am so very lucky to be their mum and proud at that.

How did you spend your Mothers Day, did you do anything nice or receive any home made presents or cards.

What beautiful cards and the butterflies are gorgeous. These little sentiments can never be replaced with expensive shop bought cards and gifts. You have lovely children who love you and care about you.

I agree, you can't beat something made with love! my elder son wrote me a poem and my teenage daughter gave me a pack of cards and on each card she had written a reason why she loves me! So sweet! The toddler showed his love by eating my chocolates.... ;) xx

Knowing that you have everything in the world that means the most to you surrounding you, priceless. Sounds like your day was complete. I have to wait until May 11th for Mother's Day here in Canada. I don't mind - winter here has only just ended, so it gives the teachers time to grow the sunflower seedings ;-)
