So its that time of year again where us little monsters get dressed up, go Trick or Treating and fill our bellies with disgusting looking food and drinks.

This year mum is having a party again and like every year we are going to make our food look gross.

I thought I would share with you some of the ideas we have in mind.

A fabulous looking drink simple and easy to make.
Drink.
This drink looks great , doesnt it?
All you need is orange juice and grenadine syrup (Grenadine is a strong red syrup made from red currants and pomegranates. It is a useful ingredient for many cocktails - acting as both a colouring and sweetener).

Then if you want to make it look even more frightful , grab Black Liquorice and black sanding sugar.

To make the drink :-
  • Add a little bit of the grenadine syrup
  • Next add ice cubes to fill the glass (Idea for the ice cubes below)
  • Then add your desired orange juice (I prefer fresh with bits to give it the better effect)
  • Now add more grenadine syrup.

See I told you it was easy.

To make the decoration:-
  • Place a straw into your drink.
  • cut some spider “legs” using the black liquorice (so you will need 4 strands)
  • Wrap another piece of black liquorice around the centre of the 4 spider legs ,leaving a long piece to hang onto your straw.
  • Rub a little of the grenadine syrup around the top of the glass and rub on the black sanding suger

Soo quick to make and they look great.

living ice cubes for your drinks.
By far this is the easiest accessory you can have for your drink.

All you need is water and jelly worm sweets

How to make the living ice cubes:-
  • Fill the ice cube tray with water
  • Add the wriggly little jelly worms so that they are hanging out
  • Place them in the freezer and wait till they are ready to place in your drink.

There is no excuse for this one , anyone can do this, and the they look fantastic.

With all that sweet stuff , kids need something healthy.
Ok, its Halloween and the whole idea of eating on this day is to fill our faces with candy and chocolate, but I really like my fruit and mum makes these to keep a sort of healthy option on the table.

How to make the banana ghosts :-
  • Peel a banana and chop it in half
  • Place a chocolate button for a mouth and two tiny chocolate drops for its eyes.

How to make the pumkin oranges:-
  • Peel the small oranges
  • Place a green liqourice lace in to the centre top of the orange.

If you love giving out treats to those monsters knocking on your door or even a (not ) so lucky bag to the little ones at the party, then try this .
All you need for this is a
  • Rubber glove (preferable see through)
  • Some string (try using the halloween colours like purple, black, green, orange or red.)
  • Sweets to fill .(using small packets or Swizzle fizzers work perfectly to fit the fingers in glove)

INGREDIENTS:-
  • Chocolate cupcakes
  • 2 cups powdered Icing sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 Tablespoons boiling water
  • 1 bag smarties

How to make the mummy cupcakes:-
  • Combine powdered icing sugar, butter, vanilla and boiling water in a medium bowl. Mix all together with a spatula until combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into a sandwich bag
  • Cut off a small piece of one corner of the bag.
  • Pipe frosting onto each cupcake in a zig zag effect.
  • Top each cupcake with two smarties to create the Mummy face.

Burger bites look great
What you need for your burger bite:-

Ingredients
  • Burger Buns
  • Hamburgers
  • Sliced cheese
  • Lettuce, onion, cucumber, pickles, mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.

How to make Monster burger bites:-
  • Toast the buns briefly in a toaster.
  • Place the lettuce inside the buns
  • Add the burger
  • Cut sliced cheese into the shape of fangs and add it ontop of your burger
  • Add the lettuce, mayonnaise, cucumber, onion
  • Cut cheese into circles for the eyes (try using three eyes to make it look more like a monster)
Picture
Grab some hotdogs and wrap some thinly sliced cheese around them. By adding two eyes made form cheese you will get these fantastic looking mummy fingers .

So get that frightening food on your tables because the monsters are coming ,,,, and they are hungry!
