The other day I told you that we were due to have our Nick Jr Blaze Party to celebrate the premier and on the upcoming Friday of this week over on Twitter with @Ukmumstv and @Nickjruk at 3:45pm.

Well due to our Friday being a little busy and Kaiden having his 5TH  Birthday on Monday we decided to have ours a little early and we had so much fun.

As you can see , he had a lovely time and was full of smiles but this was only the beginning of the party .

As usual Kaiden had some fantastic Party Invites to hand out and he was so excited to hand one to his uncle Marc to ensure he came to his party.

The First sight of Blaze comeing on Nick Jr appared on our screens while we began to get the party started , this made the children even more excited .

The table was filled with sandwiches, trifles and all sorts of wonderful snacks for them to enjoy and as per usual , Kaidens Dad and Uncle Marc arrived in time to eat all of the pizza from a busy day of work.

So what is Blaze?

''Blaze and the Monster Machines is a Pre-school childrens interactive series featuring Blaze, the world's most amazing monster truck, and his driver and best friend 8-year-old AJ.
In Axle City, they share their adventures in a town populated with big-wheeled vehicles known as monster machines.

Blaze is Axle City's greatest hero but he is also the champion of the racetrack and whenever there's trouble he's the truck everyone turns to for help because he can do things no other truck can.
Blaze has impressive Speed  and a special turbo boost that lets him accelerate and go faster when needed.
Blaze not only has immense speed but he also has the power to transform into any other vehicle or machine and even more impressive is that he can add new car parts to himself and change himself into anything he wants to which is pretty impressive considering he can change from anything such as a hang glider all the way down to a hair dryer and if you can engineer it , he can turn himself into it.

AJ and the audience at home help Blaze on his adventures by exploring the physics of how things move, tackling problems and discovering the component parts needed to make everyday technologies work.

This bright and cheerful series is going to keep your little ones entertained .

If you visit Nickjr.co.uk you will find some great games and activities and also once the series is screened, the series will be available to watch too.

Our first activity.
Make an edible Blaze -

For the first activity we had in our party box, it was a make a Blaze sweet treat.

It was very simple to achieve and with only a few ingredients (I am sure you can think of some others to achieve a better look), the children were impressed with their edible machines.

  1. Milky Way chocolate bar
  2. Smarties
  3. Icing
  4. Jelly babies

They look pretty tasty to me and the children done a great job , don't you think?

Activity two
Help Crusher through the Maze

This was a great activity after eating all that yummy food, relaxed and sat down and getting their minds really working , trying to figure out the pathway on the maze .
They all seemed to grasp it pretty quickly .
Picture
Activity Three
Make your Own Blaze Racer.

The children had a great time doing this activity , in fact it was a full 45 minutes later before they decided they had had enough and were finished their spectacular inventions.

Items needed to make this invention-

  1. Cardboard box
  2. sellotape to seal the box
  3. Play-doh to use to stick the wheels to the axels
  4. Straws and wooden sticks for the axels to hold the wheels
  5. 4 round wooden shapes with a hole in each one in the centre to create the wheels
  6. Paper, stickers and anything you wish to design your vehicle with as desired

The instructions given were very easy to follow and after the box and wheels were fixed together and designed wonderfully by our lovely little ones, the balloon was then used to attach and blow up (nipping the end so it was not sealed ready to release ) . Once you let go of the end of the balloon it makes the car move on its own if attached to the box securely and the wheels are not tightly attached .
They spent ages playing , they thought it was a fantastic and fun game to play .

As the evening went on , the fun just kept on coming and we pulled out some fantastic items for activity 3 of the evening.

Activity Three
Scientific Experiments

Magnetic racer-

We had two fantastic experiments to try out and the first one was the magnetic race car which my son found very intriguing.
You got a little car and a magnet which when placed alongside the car made the car move by  repelling against the magnet .
Picture
Balloon hovercraft.

This experiment left us all wanting a play .
With just a ballon , a pipe for the balloon to attach to and a light hover craft like shape we blew up the balloon and attached it to the base which started to move instantly .
How this works is very simple .
The air from inside the balloon is forced out into the tube which is blowing directly underneath the base of the hover craft.
As the air can not be released from anywhere it circulates underneath and around the iside of the base slightly lifting it but moving the whole thing around on the surface.
We also tried this on top of the water and were astonished as to how great it worked on there also .
This would be a great bath toy .

Activity Four
Number and Shape fun

This was our fourth activity and although many of the children found this a little too easy, they still enjoyed joining in by counting the buttons on each shape and guessing colours and shapes of the items.

Activity Four
Sink or Swim

When we got the party box , this bucket and the few items we got inside it were a little of a mystery so when we seen ''sink or swim'' as the activity title we knew straight away what the aim of the game was and so we grabbed a few more pieces from around the household (including the ballon hovercraft from earlier too of course).
It was actually really surprising how many items were more sinkable than floatable.
We even tricked them with a kinder egg container which they believed to be filled with a toy but was in fact empty .
I know , I am so mean .
We had great fun and we were actually surprised that the smaller children won this activity .
Picture
The party had come to an end and it was now 6pm and after a whole two and a half hours of fun it was time to blow the candles, sing happy birthday and enjoy some delicious cake.

We were all very tired (well I was) and after eating some delicious cake, we handed out the goody bags containing sweets, activity books, play-doh and even an umbrella which the children were very impressed by then settled of fore our beds to rest.

Kaiden had a fantastic evening and we all enjoyed celebrating it with him , he even got some lovely gifts and cards from family including a Captain America from his Aunty, Some money from his nanna and grandad to buy a new figure for his Playstation game then of course mam and dad bought him two more figures for the game and a Hudl to enjoy watching blaze and playing on Nick jr with.

We had a fantastic time and thanks to Ukmums.tv and Nick Jr , the activities kept them all very much entertained .

Don't forget to come along to the Twitter Party which is on Friday 6TH and join in from 3:45 using the hashtag #Nickjrblaze and you may even get a chance to win some fantastic goodies .
