Pizza Hut At The Last Minute

So Saturdays for us are family time and with hubby working all week we seem to get stuck in quite a lot but come the weekend we do try our best to at least get across the doors .
The thing is when it comes to the weekends , we like to get out and about but the weather this holidays has been terrible so there has been no beach, nature parks or anything of like it yet.
Yes the hubby built that fantastic park in our garden to keep them entertained but it has done nothing but rain since it was finished and raining and as the slide gets wet it can become rather dangerous just like any other park so we have to keep them of it until it is dry.
We end up being in the house doing things like creative arts or crafting and maybe even the odd board game or competitive activities on the Wii.
This weekend the weather was no different and as usual it was not so lovely so we ended up going for a drive to pick up some tyres for the family vehicle then detouring into the shopping area near us where we had a look about .
It was the usual detour, one where we were not looking for anything in particular but we have been thinking about putting a new bathroom suite in as our current bathroom consists of a wetroom so no bath to be seen and as you can imagine when you are pregnant it can become something you wish you had to relax in , the idea of a quick shower for easiness in our household has worn off very quickly , I need my long soaks and bathbomb sensations .

After a quick nosey around and feeling a little deflated at the fact we still have baby to prepare for before the big things happen in our home in only 10 weeks time of his arrival , my husband then suddenly took a quick detour again towards the Restaurant section of the shopping area . There were only two options and I was over the moon to find I was stood in the entrance of Pizza Hut .
Now I am going to admit that we rarely get to go out for a meal and with two of the girls out for the day elsewhere and my husbands second eldest son at his mams , we had a few mouths less to feed which would save us a few quid to start with never mind a little less noisier than usual so we all felt quite chilled .

We got settled straight away with superhero colouring books crayons and of course the menus and felt at comfort instantly.

I had been feeling a little deflated , bump was a little quieter than usual and as I put it ''was sporting the calm before the storm'' in the meaning that he was moving less than normal . I knew he was ok as he was still wriggling about in there but I still felt a little uneasy at how quick it seemed to go by. It was making me a little nervous still but I decided that I knew he was ok so I should enjoy the moment while I could .

We made full use of the unlimited salad and drinks which was something the little ones loved a lot.
Usually we do not allow them to have fizzy pop or a lot of juice before their main meals but because we were out they loved that they could help themselves . I have to admit that the word ''unlimited'' in food or drink always comes in handy when your with little ones , especially when it comes to drinks.

My husband and I ordered our pizza's, mine being a boring pepperoni but the husband treat himself to a special ''Philly cheese steak ''.
The children ordered pizza's , cheesy pasta and of course Kaiden could not resist getting chicken nuggets all because he seen the chips came in a small bucket instead of on the plate which he loved the idea of.

The food arrived and we all dug in , enjoying it nibble by nibble as if it was the first time we had ever eaten pizza before and although we had a small delay with the husbands it soon arrived with apologies for its lateness . Supposedly the chef had dropped the first attempt on the floor in a hurry and so he had to put another fresh one in .
We enjoyed the garlic mushrooms and other starters before it arrived and still did not wait to long so we could not grumble at all.
We were in no hurry to get home and were enjoying our time out .
When the pizza did arrive though , my husband was in complete shock.
The pizza had no tomato base and instead was switched with a cream base which shocked his tastebuds totally.
I laughed at him with his confused look on his face as he gobbled the pizza up , each time he took a mouthful he then ooked at the plate then me in dismay as if to say '' I know I orederd a pizza but this is no pizza, where is the tommy base?''
He could not quite get to grips with the fact that the pizza had a cream base but ate every single mouthful with fascination and enjoyment and in the end said '' wow , that was definitely one I am glad I took a stab at''.

We all enjoyed the rest of our meals and even finished with deserts.
The kids of course helped themselves to unlimited ice cream with sweets and sauces and my husband and I indulged in death by chocolate (Choc ice cream on waffle with choc sauce and a flake) and cookie dough with vanilla ice cream and choc sauce topping .
My stomach was bursting and we enjoyed every piece of the meal . The staff were wonderful, one lady even came over asking me if I had tried their new salted caramel sauce to which I had obviously replied I had not so she brought me some out to try. It was delicious, tasted to me exactly like a luxury toffee so I took some of the kids ice cream he left and dipped in the caramel as an added bonus .

The children did not even leave a nibble but me being the smaller eater of the lot put my left over pizza into a box supplied from them to take home with me. Honestly I think I will just buy the kids meal next time. The size of their pizza is quite suffice for me plus you also get your ice cream factory too as well as the unlimited drinks and salad all for £3.99 whereas the pizza alone for us adults were around (although bigger) £9.00 each.

We had such a lovely couple of hours there and to be fare I would go back again if ever there is some spare cash in our pockets . The service was fantastic , so friendly and the children had a lovely time.
Leaving with bellies full, balloons in the kids hands and £60 lighter in the wallet we left with a smile .

Have you been to Pizza Hut, what are your thoughts ?

I've not been to Pizza Hut for many many years due to all our allergies but I do remember the portions being massive!

I love places like Pizza Hut for those moments when you feel like being a bit naughty and having dinner out with your kids. It also really reminds me of my childhood and having dinner there as a birthday treat! x

We save Pizza Hut for a special treat for our daughter's birthday, which is coming up in 3 weeks. the whole family goes, that's all 7 of us, so the bill is always high, but we always have a good time.
