So the most amazing parcel arrived last week, we were out so because it arrived at the weekend , we had a whole two days before we were able to pick it up on Monday form the post office . We were expecting a large letter not this huge parcel. We were not sure what was waiting for us but as you can see the smile says she was very happy it was for her . This is the Ravensburger Disney Castle 3D puzzle that is available from Smyths . I am absolutely loving 3D puzzles and they seem to just get bigger and better each time we approach the challenge . Obviously this is not how it came in the box, the whole idea is ot build it yourself and that is exactly what her father and her done on the evening after he finished work. We opened the box and the contents and instructions were not so hard to follow , a little fiddly to get started but once the base was up we were able to get a sturdy start and build. I have to admit that the selfish part of me caved in to the cuteness and want of needing this to be done perfectly so I could display it for all to see in my cabinet once built . The fun of spotting over 100 characters in the puzzle and trying to identify and name them all was a great added bonus for us , we thoroughly enjoyed the build . Most part of the Castle were ready made such as the steeple roofs and the towers were larger pieces like the frame base also . There were fully made gates for the front and back and balconies were also prepared making the in between parts easier to assemble. I was surprised at how large the castle once when built and although it may just fit comfortably on a window edge I feel it would be better on a larger shelf due to the delicate areas. The bright colours makes it very much realistic to its natural scene and I love that Micky and Minnie , king and queen of Disney were centre staged on the castle . I am not sure they could fit any more characters on there but I am sure they could if they tried although , I do think they have every single one I could think of on there. Are there any Disney characters you can not see that you would like to see , let me know in the comments below ? The puzzle has 216 high quality interlocking plastic jigsaw pieces a staggering 75 additional accessories and it's Assembled Dimensions are 45.3L x 26.9W x 49.6H cm. The age given to this puzzle is 12 yrs + but I know my younger daughter would have also built this at just 10 yrs , I think it all depends on the concentration of the child . Being that this is a castle , a Disney one at that , the younger ones seemed more eager to get started and join in . I love that they have made this castle , imagination is wonderful and once built the scene is set in any child's bedroom to play alongside it with their toys .

I have always avoided 3D puzzles because I thought they would be too difficult and the frustration would get the best of me with them. But this was a great read and insight and I think I'm going to give one a go now, is it bad that I don't have kids but want this Disney castle ha
