What a week we have had, its been a tough one

We had quite a busy week this past week and I thought I would share with you some of our fun and not so.

First of all I had a fallout with the children's school,  my upset started because of a few things .
My son had been told he was star of the week .
Every week a child from each year group (Nursery in Kaiden's case), are chosen to be star of the week. They get to wear a red jumper (uniform is usually navy) with a big gold star on the front and they get to wear it for the whole week. Not much to us but the children see it as an achievement and reward and so when Kaiden was chosen he was very excited to tell me as soon as I picked  him up.
The school were busy with sports days and other events that week and the teacher told me they forgot to give it to him but promised to give it to him the next week .
Last week came and the school had an Ofsted visit , Kaiden waiting patiently for his special jumper kept coming out of school with out it and so I started to get a little annoyed at the fact he was been forgotton about because the school were too busy with making sure the school looked the part for their inspection and ignoring the fact that a 4 year old was feeling upset he had not got his reward.

Eventually they did give it to him on Thursday but he was off school on Friday due to a strike of some sort with the teachers so he only got to wear it for the day which to me is pretty shocking.

Not only that but I also had an indifference with the school on how their teachers have been speaking to my children and others.
My eldest daughter who is now 10yrs old had a teacher who she got on very well with but unfortunately the teacher spoke way too much in my eyes about her home life and lifestyle behaviours including a lot of talk about diets.
Don't get me wrong , I totally understand that children should be well informed about the healthy lifestyle of eating but when my 8yr old goes into her class and starts to change her eating habbits and starts saying she is fat , I am sure you can feel my anger on the matter.
I went into the school to immediately ask for an appointment, but they had the Ofsted visitor there and said the head teacher would call me back with an appointment. I knew they would not allow me into the school with Ofsted being there .
I told them I did not care who was I the school , I wanted it sorting NOW.
I think the secretary could see how angry I was and informed the head teacher , so instead the discussion was taken over the phone, no doubt so the school was not embarrassed in front of the visitor they had.
I was fuming , not only was I been ignored but I was also now been hidden away like a secret, I wanted the Ofsted to hear what I had to say and that was not the only thing either .
The evening before, my daughter seemed rather upset , eventually I got what was the matter from her and she told me that the supply teacher who was taking over from her usual teacher decided to call the whole class including her STUPID.
As you can imagine , I was getting more angry .
Supposedly , the whole class were told to bring a book from home to school.
Now any other time I would not have had a problem with this but my past few months with the school has been a nightmare with losing a brand new dressing gown which I gave to the teacher  (not my daughter) for a school play they were doing , multiple parts of uniforms ,stationary ,books and other items so I told the school there was no way my children were taking any of their personal belongings into the school again .
To me the only thing they needed was themselves in their uniforms, the school should be supplying them with the necessary educational tools.
My daughter told her teacher this .
The teacher then went on to tell them if they did not bring in a book they would look STUPID.
To me this is out of order and not a word a teacher nor anyone else should be using towards children in a school , I was disgusted.

The head teacher rang me with what seemed to me a pitiful apology.
Her words regarding the teacher talking about dieting to my 8 yearr old who now thinks she is fat-

''I understand you are not happy about it, but our teachers do encourage the children as much as possible to have a healthy eating lifestyle''

I replied telling her that the type of diets the teacher keeps talking to my child about  should not be discussed to my child and I found it disgusting that she thought it was was OK and treated as healthy .
Thanks to them I now have a 8 year old who is refusing to eat most things because she thinks she has a fat tummy.

The head teacher went on to tell me she would inform the teacher and get back to me .

Here goes the next chapter of the discussion was about the teacher and his choice of words towards children in school.
The head teacher informed me that the teacher should not have said that and she would ask the children about the event.
A week later I hear nothing from it and think it has been hid under the carpet and ignored once again.
So yes I have not had a great week regarding the school and to be honest I can not wait till we move so they do not have to put up with the bullying , their personal education ethics to dieting and down right ignorance to how a school should be run .
On a nicer note,
We had a lovely weekend.
My daughter received some new clothes for her birthday and she picked the one that her aunty had bought her to wear.
I have to admit that her blouse is something I would wear, just wish they had it in my size.
She also received some birthday money and used it to buy another Monster High doll to add to her collection.
Last year I spent an absolute fortune on her older sister who was in to the dolls .
Luckily for Drew her new love for the dolls have been extended by her kind sister who has now given her them all .
Her older sister says she has outgrown them.
It is a good thing when the girls pass their toys down to the younger one.
Obviously she still has many to collect as there seems to be so many of them.

Strike a pose Drew !

The children love nothing more than to enjoy playing in their garden and when their dad decided to get out the hose pipe to wash his work van they found another way to add it into their weekend.

Kaiden , the smallest of the bunch is the influential of the lot when it comes to causing mayhem.
He waited for his dad to finish washing his van and asked to wash his bike and when his dad said yes he had that grin of chaos on his face.
I knew exactly what he was thinking and no longer than 5 minutes after holding the hose pipe , every one of his siblings were soaked head to toe from being chased around by the 4 year old.

Least the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm .

Drew and Libby are the trouble of the bunch, they seem to be the terrible twins but they are not twins although very close age gaps with only 6 months between them, some think they are at times.
They are very different in personalities but similar when it comes to imagination.

They came up with the idea of a snail race when they came across two snails roaming their territory.
Scooping them up with no care to the slime or wriggleness of the critters, they placed them on the top of the slide and waited to see who could get to the bottom first.
Picture
You know what's happening next don't you?
Yes that is the little one, Kaiden sneaking up behind them .

No longer had I clicked snap on the camera was it that he pushed Drew head first down the slide, face first into the snails below her, but luckily they survived and they carried on .

These girls have no fear when it comes to slugs and snails , the slime does not bother them at all.

Later in the evening, my son asked me to cut his hair.
I am not going to lie, I am terrible at cutting hair and have been known to bodge it up many times lol.

I warned my son when he asked me to cut it a certain way that I had no idea what I was doing and if it went wrong not to scream hysterically at me.
He seemed eager and trusted me , so I gave him a cut which he asked for and he was over the moon and loved the finish.
To be honest I was surprised myself , his hair looks so much better, he looks older and suits it.

Philip has spent the past few days showing his very vain side and checking the mirrors every time he passes one and doing the hand sweep across his fringe every time I catch site of him lol.
Happy son, happy mum.

For the past couple of days I have been blaming Philip for leaving the freezer door open when he goes in to get the fish their food.I had to apologise on my knees begging for forgiveness yesterday when we discovered 9am the freezer was broke.
I had just ordered £350 worth of food shopping the night before to be delivered for 11am that morning and with most of the shopping being meat and food for the freezer I was so worried that all the shopping would be ruined.
We needed a new freezer that day and as soon as with only 2 hours till the shopping was due to turn up , the husband decided to get on the phone to the store to see if we could pick one up.
It was a nightmare, they said they usually have them delivered and so we would have to wait till Friday , luckily they said we could pick one up and get discount for the inconvenience if he could travel an hour down the road to a store further away.

John (my husband) had work booked in and being self employed there is no way we can afford for him to turn work away nor can he cancel appointments no matter what's going on at home especially when it is contract work.
He got ready and went to work to try and get back as soon as he could to go get the freezer while I waited for the food to arrive.

It was not so great when not even half hour passed and he rang saying the AA were towing him home after the van broke down and diesel was gushing everywhere .

Yep the day just seemed to start of terribly and I was dreading the rest of it. It was only 11am and the freezer had broke and the van broke down, haha typical luck for us.

Once home he left the van and got into the family car loaded with his tools and products and carried on the day as we had planned.

The food arrived on time and I quickly put it all into the broken freezer hoping the food would stay chilled till the new one arrived.
He had to call the father in law who had a bus so they could transport it from shop to home, the thing is they did not realise that the freezer John had chosen was bigger than he thought so they spent an hour taking seats out of the bus to fit it which meant it would also not fit in our kitchen so I have had to rearrange the sitting room so we can now place it in there , hoping we move soon to the bigger house .

Arghhhh the day was not going great , but luckily the freezer arrived safely and after having to remove doors and getting it in the sitting room we had food in it by 9pm  a full 10 hours later .
Luckily I had bought some crushed bags of ice and the food had stayed frozen in the broken freezer so no food was wasted.

I was so happy, finally the food was saved and I was very dubious that the freezer food would fit in but I got all my meat for the month in there,
  • 3x huge joints of meat and 1 large chicken,
  • 6x 700g of mince,
  • 6 packs of 6 pork chops,
  • 6 packs of 4 chicken breast,
  • 6x packs of 2 pump steaks,
  • 5 bags of 24 sausages,
  • 8 packs of bacon,
  • 5 packs of 2 slice gammon
  • frozen vegetables
  • x2 boxes of fish fingers and 2x bags fishcakes
  • x2 chicken burgers and x2 chicken dippers
  • Other bits which I can not see like ice lollies, ice cream tub and fish food ect

The pizzas would not fit so I kept those out for tea and I placed the kids favourite Tikka pasties in the fridge along with the chicken kievs to be eaten this week but I was surprised I even got the meat in their.

I am so pleased with it and now I have room to keep my fruit and vegetables which usually has to be squashed in the fridge as there is so much room .
Do you know my favourite thing about it?

Take a look........

I have started to cut down on my caffeine intake and decided to get some citrus fruits to slice up and place in my water for a more healthy drink so the added benefit of constant crushed ice and cold water is fabulous to me.
Check out this refreshing drink......

So as you can see its been a busy week not including the trips to the shop or visiting inlaws but finally we are ready for the week ahead , even got our fingers crossed we hear something about a new home too, fingers crossed for us everyone, with the new added fridge freezer , we are getting more cramped by the minute lol.
