After getting absolutely drenched taking the children to school in the rain this morning , I needed a good cheering up and nothing cheers me up more than having a lovely polish/laquer applied to my nails. Today I have decided my nails need some polish on them after the disaster I had with the nail wraps the other day. I received this beautiful shade from OPI on Tuesday and with it being described as a lovely rich burgundy shade , I definitely thought this may be a lovely colour to have applied for the week. What OPI have to say - OPI is a professional quality lacquer that is chip resistant, high gloss and easy to apply. OPI nail lacquer shades contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and each includes OPI's exclusive Pro-Wide Brush for the ultimate in application. In the Cable Car-Pool Lane is a rich burgundy with a creme finish. To be honest , nail polish/laquer is something that does not bother me in the sense that they all do the same thing. I do have a few favourites such as my most loved mixed glitter polish/laquer , Polka.com by OPI and Navy by Barry M which is a beautiful midnight blue . Both polishes for me stay on well but they both chip just the same ,so for me the difference in price makes me wonder why am I paying for a higher end item when a drugstore polish/laquer gives me the same result. Either way I love the shade of the '' In the cable car-pool lane '' OPI In the Cable Car Pool Lane from the San Francisco Collection was described by OPI as burgundy but I dont see that at all. I see this as a beautiful berry red purple but more purple than red .
I found the formula to be a lovely jelly like coating which did go on evenly with a smooth finish but the downfall is that I found I had to apply this 3 times before I had full coverage of the nail. As with the other OPI I have had before , this dries very quickly which is perfect as I applied this before realising I needed to put the washing away . The OPI brush is a fabulous Pro- wide style which makes it easy to apply that even coat without having to touch up around the sides . One coat of this is definately no good and looks more pink than the actual shade plus you can see how streaky it looks until applying another 1 or 2 before getting the perfect coat. I absolutely love the shine on this polish and I can see myself wearing this in the rainy May day weather . So what do you think of my choice of polish/laquer today, do you have , want it, hate it, ? Let me know your thoughts.

I honestly thought it would be the colour in the pot, and it is after two or three coats but if you only use one coat its not so even but has a lovely pinker shade x

I love that colour! I generally wear darker or light and sparkly (when I can, which isn't often, my boys see to that), but that's perfect and plum like for Summer! It's a shame it takes three coats though... I barely have time for one!

What a lovely colour, I think for me it would be perhaps one I would reach for more in Autumn - I'm odd with colours lol

I am big into pastel nail varnish and I love glittery ones too. I might wear a more reddy one in winter like the one you have tried.

I am not at all big into nail polish but I have to say I absolutely LOVE that colour. What a funny name for the colour though. Bit of a mouth-full. Please don't say rainy days in May as I am done with the amount of rain we just had in April, from Easter Sunday onwards. It meant I had such a backlog of washing, but today thankfully we had sun and I got FIVE loads dry on the line, so I am a happy lady.

I go through stages of loving polish to forgetting them and not bothering for weeks on end, I recently used a naul treatment which helped strenghten my nails and they grew the longest they had before , so i have been useing them more lately although since i stopped using the repair kit they have snapped so feeling sad about that now x
