OPI have slowely started to overtake my polish collection and I am beginning to enjoy the vast range of shades that come with the brand. Today I thought I would share with you something a little different to the vampish sparkle post Ii shared with you last time. This time we have - ''You're so Vain-illa'' You're so Vain-illa is inspired from the Vanilla coke drink and is part of the Coca Cola collection which I delightfully have all shades of .
You're so Vain-illa is an off white , creamy , light beige shade . Wearing light shades of this tone usually does not happen. I am more for colour, pretty colours or monochrome duos but wearing this on its own had to be tried . It is one of the shades I do not have in my collection so had to add it . I actually thought it would be a lovely undercoat for my glitter shades instead of the plain boring white shade as a difference. I found the formula OK! not overly impressed with it in the respect that it streaked a little which for me is a nightmare. I also had to use three coats to get the opaque finish which for me is a little more than I would like . The thing about nude shades like this one is that you need to be very careful on choosing the right one, a little like choosing the right foundation for your face. The wrong shade of nude on your nails can make them look terrible and for me I struggle especially with the paler shades . My fair olive skin tone sometimes matches a little too close and can in fact make my nails look dirty . I have a massive problem with white for example.White nail polish on my nails look ridiculous and my skin looks dirty whereas luckily for me this shade made my nails look clean and fresh . The fact that I have decided to put this shade on my new favourites stand ,shows me that I find this tone perfectly lovely . I am also realising I am becoming more adaptable to change and straying from the plain pinks I once used to wear .
OPI has certainly started me on the search for more nude colours now. I love how sophisticated and fresh this makes my nails look a little more mature . I am going to try a lovely lace nail art effect with this shade , quit excited as I know it will look lovely with any shade contrasting against it so will keep you informed on how that goes . You're So Vain-illa is available from Nailpolishdirect.co.uk Cost - £7.95 So does this shade look like it may be joining your collection soon? Let me know .
