DETOX DO
Extra ways to boost the cleansing process...
  • Drink a glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon  to cleanse your system.
  • Take two teaspoons of psyllium husks (available from health food stores) in a glass of water 15 minutes before breakfast to improve bowel function.
  • Have two pieces of fruit mid-morning.
  • Mix two teaspoons of organic spirulina powder (available from health food stores) into apple juice or water. Drink mid-afternoon to aid detoxification and provide valuable nutrients.
DETOX DONT
What to avoid for the week...
  • Wheat and dairy - these can lead to bloating, fatigue and cravings. Go for rye, corn and rice-based foods, and soya milk.
  • Red meat - it is hard to digest and is high in saturated fat.
  • Saturated fats found in butter and mayonnaise are off the menu. I instead, use a little flaxseed oil or olive oil.
  • All additives and preservatives such as sugar- steering clear of any packaged foods will make this easier.
