Steak Tea

Woke up today wondering about what to have for tea again , so I asked the husband if steak was his fancy with an obvious answer ''yes please''.

I usually do steak with chips and garlic button mushrooms but fancied something a little different and definately not chips.
Picture
Garlic cheesey mushroom-
  • 2 extra large mushrooms.
  • 2 peeled and crushed garlic cloves.
  • 1 tablespoon of oil.
  • 200g of your favourite choice of cheese for topping. (I would have used stilton but husband does not like it ).

  1. Mix the crushed garlic and oil together then sprinkle evenly onto the mushrooms.
  2. Place the mushrooms on a tray and place in a pre heated oven and cook for 10 minutes on

           200C/fan 180C/gas 6.
    3. Take the mushrooms out and add the cheese and place back in the ven for a further 5 minutes or untill the cheese is golden and melted.

Serve on their own as a starter or a side dish to a nice steak dinner.

Filled peppers-
  • 2 peppers (Any colour)
  • 1 bag of boil in the bag rice.
  • Half a cup of peas.
  • Half a cup of sweetcorn.

  1. First slice the top of the peppers (the lids) of and remove the seeds from the inside.
  2. Boil the bag of rice as directed.
  3. Steam the peppers and the lids for 20 minutes.
  4. Mix the rice , peas and sweetcorn together and fill the pepper to the top and steam for a further 10 minutes.

Perfect for a starter or side dish , try adding slices of meat or fish to your liking.

Making these two little starters a side dish to my steak (the husband prefers a nice big fat steak to my bashed to pieces made thin) was delightful.

How do you eat your steak meals , is this something you would try instead of chips?

I love stuffed mushrooms and peppers! These look good. When it comes to steak though I am really fussy. It needs to be Sirloin or Rump medium. Yummm :)

I love steak and chips, but my better half prefers it with a healthier side option so I never get my way lol
