17 Weeks Pregnancy Diary

On Thursday We finished our 17th week of our pregnancy and I have to say I am beginning to think that this pregnancy is going a little faster than I had anticipated.

On the 6th May our baby bump gave us a treat by making some huge stretches, wiggles and even kicks , so much in fact that even his or her daddy could see and feel it happening himself which made us feel amazingly over whelmed .

For the past couple of weeks, we have had a couple of small movement feelings from our bump but nothing like this was , especially not so its daddy could enjoy the moment too and it seemed to be having a little party in there .
We were amazed at how lively it was, reassuring us both that he or she was still growing strong in there and we felt greatful that our baby bump was now able to let us know .

Baby-

Baby is now getting rather big and is around the size of a big red bell pepper which to me assures me those kicks and wiggles I have been feeling , well they will be getting a lot more stronger and we will be feeling them a lot more .
Our baby's cartilages will be turning to bone and if you were to go for an ultrasound scan you may be able to see the sex of your baby and we get to find out in just two more weeks , I am so excited.

Myself-

I have been feeling great this week, so much better than the past couple of weeks although I have to be careful when getting up and rushing as much as I used to.
I usually sleep on my back but have recently realised this week that this is not the most of comfortable positions.
I remember reading in my past pregnancy's that laying on your back could cause complications for you and your baby so laying on your side , (preferably your left) helps the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta as well as allowing your kidneys to rid waste from your body.
Maybe it is time to look out for some of those amazing pregnancy sleeping pillows ?

Does not look like the blooming stage stayed long in my pregnancy as my skin and hair have gone from feeling and looking wonderful to now going very dry and worn out .

My eating habits are changing daily, one day I feel like I can eat anything and everything , the next I just feel sick at the sight and smell of anything I see so cravings have disappeared at the moment and I am just trying to concentrate on drinking plenty to keep myself hydrated .
I have grown very fond of very cold drinks , especially fruit juices . I have found that I am not drinking tea as much , I much prefer a nice cold drink of juice.
If I have a glass of cold milk or even yogurt, I have noticed I can get a wriggle from baby as a thank you , I think it likes it .

I am not sure if this is something normal but I actually had a case of what I can only describe as ''The missing bump''.
One minute I was feeling and looking huge, then the next morning I woke to find my tummy felt and looked a lot more flatter than usual,my bump seemed to have disappeared and it gave me a little bit of a fright to be fare but the next day it soon came back. It was strange and almost like a game of hide and seek was being played by baby .
Already testing me and I am sure this is what I have to come from our little surprise bundle from the very start if it takes after its father.

I had a spurt of wanting to get a little bit more energetic , I thought about trying out some pregnancy yoga , downloaded the app to my phone and gave it a try, unfortunately it did not last long , although I do keep looking at it and wondering if it may be possible to give another try ,,,, tomorrow maybe!

The week went very quickly for me , I think the whole pregnancy seems to have done so though, but maybe that is just me and having a busy lifestyle at the moment.

I will be back on Thursday to share with you on how my 18th week went , hope you come to take a peak and follow me through this wonderful journey .

Oooh, 17 weeks. I think this is about the best part of the whole pregnancy thing. You can feel something very exciting growing inside your tummy, you look tip top, and you don't yet feel the size of an elephant, lol! Good luck with it all. Tx

Sleeping is the worst part of pregnancy I think, just trying to get comfortable. I hope you find a great pillow to help!

I think things do seem to happen a lot quicker when you have more babies. I remember when I had my fifth I felt like I was already six months gone by 17 weeks! I had a big bump too. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well x
