It's a Boy!
On Friday 22nd if May , you may have seen my social networking sites going a little crazy at our excitement for going for our 20 week scan.
You only get two scans through out your whole pregnancy now unless they see a problem or complication which thank fully I am not having at the moment or hopefully not ever through this pregnancy .
This was our last and 2nd scan at seeing our baby in my tummy before the big arrival date.
On the second scan , we are enabled to find out if the baby we are carrying is a boy or girl and although they can sometimes be wrong as they are not totally accurate, most of the time the Sonographer can tell by looking at the black and white screen and seeing if it has a boys or girls organs between its legs.
We had a full day waiting , our appointment was the last one of the evening of that day and it was dragging .
I am so impatient at the easiest of times and this had me roaming the waiting room for half hour waiting on them to call us in while my husband sat their winding me up still thinking it funny to say there were twins in my tummy and they were going to find it today.
After a long wait and me trying to hold my full bladder in due to them telling me to ,to ensure a clear scan, I was relieved to eventually feel better at my name being called in.
Going through the measurements of baby and making sure everything looks healthy with bone structure, organs and other things such as checking for Cleft lip we were pleased to be told everything was perfectly as it should be and we breathed a huge sign of relief.
During the scan the Sonographer asked us if we wanted to know the sex of our baby and we both enthusiastically nodded and replied ''Please'' and ''Yes!''
The Sonographer gave her accomplish who was working on taking all the notes on the other computer across the room all of the measurements and counts and then started giggling to her saying this one is most definitely unmistakable as they both giggled keeping us both in suspence until the very end when she asked us again to make sure if we were sure we wanted to know.
She moved the cursor across our little being on the black and white screen and showed us exactly what her findings were and we were then informed that we were carrying a perfect little baby boy.
As you can see from the Scan , you can clearly see how the Sonographer and her accomplish could not mistake the sex of our baby, our boy is certainly not a shy baby and I think the little deal we had with bump the night before, telling him to make sure legs were not crossed blocking us from finding out had been well and truly made.
There was no doubt that this little bump of ours was most certainly a little Boy.
We were over the moon that everything was perfectly as it should be.
Measurements were fitting our dates from our first dating scan and there was two arms, two legs, a beating heart, two eyes and a fully formed mouth as well as the other organs and structures that we were expecting to see.
I was still amazed at how much the Sonographer could actually see on that tiny little screen.
I never knew it was actually possible to find out about cleft lip until birth so although this is my first I am still learning.
After the Pictures were given to us with giggles and congratulations , we walked out of the room at total ease and in full excitement that our baby boy was growing healthily at this stage and a thought in our minds that reality had finally struck us...........
The next time we get to see our baby boy will be in our arms!
