As you may have heard for the past few months, I have done nothing but moan about the picture quality while using my old camera . I seemed to be ok using the Olympus Pen E-PL1 outdoors, but indoors I struggled everytime with lighting as every single room in my house seems to be in darkness or did not have much natural lighting. I tried to make things better by purchasing the lightbox and extra lights but to be honest I had no luck with it what so ever , I blamed the camera more than anything. So Ii have moaned on asking my husband to treat me to one for the past couple of months hoping that he would buy me one sooner rather than later and yesterday he walked in with a smile on his face while passing me a surprise. The Fujifilm Finepix S4900 I do not think even my husband has seen me so excited, I immediately opened the box to see what was inside . Package contents -

Sounds amazing doesn't it? Of course, I was more than excited to get out and try the new camera out so today I picked my son up form nursery, pouring down with rain and took ourselves for a nice stroll around our village to try and see what we could capture on our new gadget. Here is what we found , bearing in mind it was very dull weather and raining - Always picking wild flowers for his mum I love taking pictures of flowers, I do not know why , but they look pretty , very good detail I think. We live in a small countryside village where we are surrounded by fields of cows and Horses, It is a beauty to see. Kaiden still had his uniform on and decided he wanted to go for a splash, or soaking as I put it. We do have a lovely stream running through our village but this just looks like a mud heap at the minute in our wonderful British weather . We found a back garden gate that I thought looked like an enlarged fairy garden entrance, love how it is blended in with the scenery . First thing I noticed was that it felt heavier than my previous camera ,not by much , but I could feel a slight difference . It was light and easy to handle and felt a lot more secure in my hands. I made sure to attach the lens cap cord, the lens cover and the camera strap to add the extra safety (I would hate to drop it or lose the lens cover which I had done with my other one regrettably). I am in no way a professional photographer but I am picky when it comes to focus, lighting and getting that perfect picture and this camera states to do all of that . I took a couple of pictures of the children and dogs last night indoors to see if the lighting in my house was any better using this and heres what I came up with . Little mucky faced Leon gave me a smile and you can see even the finest of hairs on his little baby face . Tyson refused to cooperate Very happy that I can now photograph products of upcoming reviews more clearer now. As you can see a clear shot of the writing on a cereal box which I usually struggle with .
My conclusion - This is perfect for someone like me who is keen to get more serious with photography and it comes without the huge price tag at only £99 in Tesco. For some reason though my husband went instore to our local Tesco and was charged £119.99 . Update on why husband was charged £19.99 extra for the camera- I rang Tesco extra for them to tell me that Tesco Direct is not part of Tesco extra in store. They said that instore your tesco extra you will pay EXTRA for electrical appliances due to them needing to be insured incase of damage, (SO NOW I KNOW WHY THEY CALL IT EXTRA) whereas Tesco Direct have them all safely put away so they do not need to cover them so therefore you pay less. In my opinion it is total rubbish! My husband had to wait for someone to go in their storage at the back of the shop to get the safe camera, not one form on the shelves. So why are we still paying the EXTRA ? Maybe I should start asking for my groceries to be discounted too , after all I am ordering on line. I love nothing more than taking pictures of my family, and I mean, I take pictures every day so this will be brilliant for capturing those precious memories which is key to my upcoming photography challenge. This is perfect for taking out everywhere with me , It is so portable that I can fit it in my bag and being lighweight means I only need one hand to use it so no more fiddling about . The feature I love most is most definitely the sliding zoom button. As you slide the button across , the lens expands out of the camera making it feel and look like an expensive professional camera. The easy to navigate features make it easy to use and I for one love that although affordable , the sturdy compact camera takes a quality high performance shot everytime. Another feature which I am loving is the moving record funtion. You can record videos in 720p HD at 30 frames per second you can then connect the camera using the hdmi cable to your HD TV and watch back your footage in prestine HD. The S4900 Fujifilm camera is perfect for those looking for a high performing camera that won't break the bank balance, give you high quality pictures where ever you are at any time of day. I would definietely recommend this to beginners and also on the way professionals.

We all know how important taking pictures on our blogs can be and if the lighting is terrible it can all go wrong as I have come to learn. My pictures recently have been a nightmare especially when it comes to photographing certain products like eyeshadows and lipsticks. I have found myself walking into the only room in the house that has even a slight bit of light which unfortunately is my childrens bedroom. I have then placed my product on their white dollhouse and had to put on flash to brighten it up, but it just makes the product look the wrong colour and does not show the true colour or detail and I have been none stop moaning about it. Fortunately I have a fabulous husband who heard my cries of distress lol and he soon ordered me the pop up Portable Photo studio tent with tripod and lights to see if it would shut me up and help in some way. Now these range from being really affordable to quite expensive but fortunately he found one on Ebay priced £76.00 reduced to only £30 or so (I do not know the exact price because it was a valentines gift so will not ask). It looks a great idea and I have heard alot of people have made these themselves from cardboard and paper but by the time you buy the lights and fabric you may as well buy them in my eyes. It is nice to have the carry case and tripod and fabrics backdrops . First of all you get inside X2 50w lights with fold away stands . These plug into the mains which I am happy about as I was worried they would be battery operated and the cable is a good length meaning I can move them around the box to a possition I feel is working best for me. Camera Tripod Stands . These stands are fully adjustable, high quality, aluminum and steel. Large legs with skid reduction pads keep stand firmly in place. The camera tripod's adjustable height ranges from approx. 25cm with extension up to 45cm. I was desperate for one of these so I am pleased it came with one. X4 backdrop sheets . You get RED, BLACK, WHITE AND BLUE. These are very good quality fabrics with wipeable one side and velvet on the other . The studio box is 50x50x50cm and folds into a carrying bag which stores your lights, backdrops and tripods. So there you go that is what you get now lets see if this actually works. White backdrop - actually shows product very well but the lights have let it down . Again - the lights have let it down and does not give the effect it is meant to have .
First of all let me just warn you - DO NOT BUY THIS SET FORM EBAY AND IF YOU DO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE CE ( The CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets the requirements of the appliance EC directives, The manufacturer of CE-marked goods has verified that the product complies with all applicable EC requirements, such as safety, health, and environmental protection, and, if stipulated in any directive, has had them examined by a notified conformity assessment body.) You will understand why once you read number 1 below.
So there you go my experience with Photograph light box studio today. Yes it is a great buy for the studio itself , tripod stands and backdrops but as for the lights they ruined the whole package and therefore I would not recomend this to anyone unless of course it was a better quality and certified safe of course. I just hope my husband gets some sort of compensation back for the lights so he can put it towards some better quality, SAFE lights. Has anyone else bought one of these and found they worked or did you have trouble with them also?. Any recommendations on good lights would be fantastic so my husband can check them out please. Author - S.A.Hunter Mary just wants to be left alone, but the cheerleaders, jocks, guidance counselors, and ghosts won't stop harrassing her. When a new boy starts school, he surprises Mary by befriending her. That's a rare thing for the school freak, but her unusual abilities put a rift in their budding friendship when Mary has to tell Cy that his home is haunted and not by Casper, the friendly ghost. So I got this book on Kindle edition last year and I have finally got round to reading it. First of all it was the name that caught my attention. The dark cover made me feel it could be psychologically interesting. Fact of the matter it really is just a short story I wish had been made longer. The book is about a young teenage girl who feels alone in the world and bar her best friend Rachel and her grandmother , she has no one else (except for the spirits she hears and feels ). Mary is not like the average girl and people at her school call her a freak becuase they have heard she spoke to ghosts as a younger child so she keeps it quiet about still having them around her and tries to keep herself to herself. There is always a bully of the school though and very soon into the book we hear from Vicky the typical popular girl of the school. She basically just aggravates Mary and makes her life hell to the point where Mary makes a new friend ( a male friend) and is invited to his home after school. Cyrus seems lovely at first and I felt myself think that one day they may get together and be partners but all is ruined for Mary when Vicky invites herself over with a Ouija board to stir things up. Playing the Ouija board releases an evil spirit that haunts Cyrus's home and so he blames Mary and turns into an absolute douchebag. Once again Mary is left alone but now she has a spirit who does not like her either and she needs to get rid of it with the help form her grandmother. Overall this book is a good read for a work time break or a soak in the tub , but I would love them to be a little longer . I feel the characters could have been shared a lot more with us and the story could have gone into alot more depth . I was expecting something darker and more fearful but I think I expected too much before reading it. The book is free so even if you are not sure , it is a chance worth taking. I did enjoy it and it has been written well . I would love to read more of these books , I think the Author brings them to life in such a short time and its nice to have a giggle at the characters . Maybe Mary is not so scary afterall. Have you read this short story? I woke up this morning and noticed blogger Jane from IsThatYouDarling using the hashtag on twitter called #Photoanhour and thought , ''yes I will have some of that today'' . I dont know exactly what made me think taking a photo every hour for the day was a good idea after staying up till daft O.Clock this morning , I was way too tired and should be really spending the day snuggled on the sofa sleeping. It is Saturday and its meant to be ''not soo lazy'' so well, I went for it . A little saddened to see only me and three others joined in but it was nice to see some great pics of their day , especially @KimmieRed teasing me with cheese and IsThatYouDarling with all the wine and Carnivalphotos chasing around all morning looking for curtains and paint to match , I think I must be the only one who never crossed the doors today. Even the hubby went to tesco for things for dinner and marine water at the fish shop. If you pop over and follow these lovely ladies , I am sure you will enjoy reading their posts and a few giggles. IsThatYouDarling @KimmieRed Carnivalphotos and me..... First of all I did not get out of bed today till at least 11am. My excuse is because husband had me talking till ridiculous hours and watching Tanked . HOUR 1 - My day begins by receiving a parcel from Author Bethany Turner which includes her signed books and a lovely written card . HOUR 2 - I decided the day does not start till I am ready and there were things to do. HOUR 3 - Put the potatoes in the oven for our tea later and done the dishes,,, AGAIN! HOUR 4 - Had to write my review of the lovely lipstick , Elizabeth Arden in starlight because I was soo impressed, please check it out in the makeup section . HOUR 5 - Ate too much , but it has to be done with tons of cheese, butter and chicken coronation chicken HOUR 6 - Husbands decided to get his own marine tank and although we havent got Nemo in there yet theres a cute fish who keeps playing hide and seek with me , He does usually win and goes missing for about 4 days at a time though . HOUR 7 - Time to cleanse and moisturise before getting my nightie on. HOUR 8 - Our water snail was seen today after hiding for days in the sand squeezing a white trunk like tube from its mouth into a crack on the bottle in the tank to reach for food, curious to know what it is called HOUR 9 - My 2 german sheperds Roxy on left , Tyson on right ,stealing my couch ,,,, AGAIN HOUR 10 - We all know what time this is- goodnight and enjoy your weekend.
