So as you may already know, in a few weeks time (hopefully) I will be heading of to the hospital to have my baby boy . There are so many things to pack in the hospital bag and being a beauty blogger it seems even I need to ensure I have some essentials with me even at the time I may not feel up to putting on a full face. Just a lip balm and hand cream for sure followed by maybe a little bronzer to take the paleness from all that tiring birthing look that I will no doubt have . My bag has been sat on the end of my bed for the past two weeks now and I finally got around to packing it last night when I realised that some of my makeup took up quite a lot of room and so I needed to check on something more compact that may be ideal to carry with me in a small bag and take up not so much space . I found my Bagsy Bundle shortly after. I was sent these to me a few weeks ago and to be fare the one thing that has not been out of my little Boden going out bag is the wonderful lip cocoon moisture balm . This is the product that I have found mostly used due to the fact I had a really bad cold sore a few weeks ago and it seemed the only product I could find that helped ease and moisture the lips enough not to make the cracks and soreness escalate into something worse than it was. Bagsy are a British born beauty brand that pride themselves on supplying and catering for those in need of travel friendly beauty products. Ones that can be taken with you everywhere in smaller , ideal sizes suitable for lets say Hospital trips or weekends away. Not only are they great for taking with you away but because they are handy , they are great for your handbag meaning you can have your essentials at reach when ever you are out and about. The one thing that captures my eye on these products are the cute and adorable packaging . Each item has been packed individually in a lovely bright and cheerful box (except for the hand cream) and some even have a lovely quote regarding what the piece is all about . The beautiful eyes selection consists of a thick pencil that comes with a sharpener and costs £14. Beautiful eyes states it lasts for 24 hours and I have to be honest it does have great staying power for what I was actually expecting from its soft , feathery texture. It stays put for the full day . What I love most about this is that the shade ''The big smoke'' is a lovely light shade which makes it look natural on the eye but at the same time enhancing the natural outline without the obvious black solid line which I like . Not only do they do the smoke shade but the shade of ''Pearly bird'' is also amazing for highlighting the inner eye and under brow . I also found this great to enhance the shaping of the top lip. I go through stages of lipbalms/lip glosses and lipsticks. Some days I don't feel like wearing anything other than a balm where as others I find a full coloured lippy is exactly what I need to cheer me up. Not having much time this summer holidays being pregnant and not bothered as well as kids being at home for 6 weeks, I tend to have reached for the balms and glosses most days and to be fare I have been pretty impressed with two of the lip products from Bagsy both for different reasons. Lip Velvet which is available for £12 and having been lucky enough to be sent the shade ''Spinning plates'' I felt able to enjoy the shade daily . It was a lovely matte finish gloss and felt amazingly moisturising on the lip. The shade was perfect for everyday wear and I was very impressed that a gloss could be so pretty , matte and most of all look smooth on the lip with a pretty good staying power which to be fare most gloss does not give usually . Like I said above earlier, the Bagsy Lip cocoon became my saviour a few weeks ago, honest truth. The Lip cocoon is available for only £7. I raked my rescue balms and creams for a cure of a dreaded , nasty and sore cold sore which appeared one morning after I took a sip from a can of pop the night before (I know I should not have but I was craving for fizzy pop). After funding nothing that was soothing on my lip I found the Lip cocoon the only thing that smothered my lip in a lovely lemon balm that instantly felt relieving . The packaging was just as a normal lipstick with a twisting motion to bring the lipstick up and out of the tube but instead of that usual plastic covering it was a lovely fresh cardboard . The lemon aroma is so refreshing I kind of got a little attached to it over the last few weeks and I am now wondering whether the ''Rasberry'' should join the lemon in my bag. Needing my hands to be soft enough to hold a baby and my little ones and husband , I always welcome a hand cream and this ''Heavenly hands'' is perfectly ideal . At only £6 , this cream is perfect for taking every where with you and I actually love it because of its thick texture which I find rare with hand creams . I have very thirsty skin and it melts in quickly leaving a very soft and subtle feel to my skin with a lovely scent. I really am going less dramatic with my makeup over this pregnancy stage due to the fact I really can not be bothered with the multiple items and products needed to get the daily look I usually go for . The natural look is being welcomed so much now and I am finding that just a small amount of bronzer over the cheeks and bridge of the nose can be just as appealing . The Kabuki brush is £15 , I know , quite pricey but for a makeup brush , the essentials of a good look is given from a good brush and this brush is perfect for picking just enough bronzer up for that all natural look in the upcoming colder days. It feels soft and easy to handle and I have it in my hospital bag along with the rest of my Bagsy supplies . I have to say I am very pleased with the products, although some seem a little pricey , I appreciate how good they actually are , the compact , handy size makes them more appealing for me as well as the gorgeous packaging and long lasting staying power they give with each wear. If you are into makeup, like a top up on your days out and about or even love a little balm or gloss now and then, Bagsy is perfectly cute to carry with you and it certainly had me smiling . As well as the lovely items available from Bagsy, you can also buy their little cosmetic bag for £15.
Even this wonderfully designed bag has its own little quote hidden inside giving it its very own personality. '' A little touch of loveliness is always at hand'' Sums it all up for me really, I have actually found no fault with anything from Bagsy and will be keeping an eye out on any more upcoming products from them. Bagsy do have their own site but unfortunately not available to buy at Bagsybeauty.com but they do sell all Bagsy products over at Feelunique.com who currently have some launch offers on at the moment.

I know this is not a new released mascara ,I am not one for following and rushing to buy new products and showing off I have it first , I buy on impulse or need when I feel I want or need something . This Urban Decay Perversion mascara has been hidden away in my drawer as I was waiting for my old favourite mascara (Smashbox Extreme) to run out before I could open this so not to waste my makeup. It was a Christmas gift as well as the Naked On the Run Palette which also has a small sample of this inside (another reason why I have not opened the full size one yet) as well as some other things and I have heard so many great things about it that I am hoping it does well on my lashes. My lashes are very small and straight , It takes a very good and distinctive mascara to work a length on them and I not only need length but also volume which helps my shallow eye look a little more wider . Perversion Mascara Costs - £17.50 Available from Urbandecay.co.uk Ingredients - Aqua (Water/Eau), Synthetic Beeswax, Acacia Senegal Gum, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Cera Carnauba/Cire de Carnuba), Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polybutene, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Pentylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Soluble Collagen, Myristic Acid, Arachidic Acid, Behenic Acid, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Oleic Acid, Mel (Honey/Miel) Extract, Sodium PCA,Hydrolyzed Elastin, Glycogen, Serine. [+/- (May Contain/Peut contenir): CI 77499 (Iron Oxides)]. The thing that attracted me to this mascara initially was the fact that it has a real bristle brush and not that rubber end which I have found does not work well at all with my short lashes as well as being my most loved makeup brand. First of all I love the name and the packaging. It looks like a mascara and has easy cleaning packaging and that is all I need, simple and effective. The brush has a good wand length and the bristles are a perfect length with no strays . I love mascara that goes on smooth and am able to build up instantly . I hate waiting for it to dry before I am able to add more and if it does clump I won't ever buy it again as I find it is just not sexy and with this mascara claiming to be sexy , why wouldn't I want to give it a try? My thoughts -
I have to have the blackest of black mascara, it simply is the only shade that deepens and defines my eyes, not only that but I actually prefer the more dramatic look. I have never bought browns or blues and black mascara has always been my shade of choice . This mascara certainly is the blackest of black . With each application, each lash is coated individually. My lashes look fluffy and not to harsh on the eye. I only applied one coat here but to be fair I think one coat is enough. I always feel that the wand is what really makes using a mascara easier . This wand is a good weight and length and I do not feel like I am balancing it while applying the product , it is easy to handle. The mascara is highly pigmented and the brush does not get overloaded with formula . I love that this mascara does not flake and wears for a long length of time. I find the mascara has a slight glossy finish to it which surprised me as I thought it would be matte . Its light on the lashes and I love the effect it has on my eye and it does give me volume as well as length which I had hoped for and for this reason I would definitely buy it again. Widening my eyes and lengthening my lashes makes this mascara a winning product for me . What mascara is your favourite and why ? Benefit Lip and Cheek Stains have been quite the talk in the beauty industry for a few years now and they still seem to be a favourite now . I have to be honest in the respect that I am not a follower in buying something just because its a new thing or craze but if it interests me I will give it a try and cheek tints very much intrigued me. I had tried the models own cheek tint a few years back and it was an absolute nightmare . There were so many posts sharing how gorgeous they looked and how easy they were to apply but when reality hit home , it ended up a complete shambles and instead of a gorgeous even flushed look I ended up looking like someone had drawn on my cheeks and what more it stained blotchy (just as promised) for three days without me being able to remove it . I tried to stay clear of any more cheek stains from then on up until I won this gorgeous tint which came with a blush that I have been using for the past 3 months. The blush is Bella Bamba , my most loved blusher and most used one at that but this little added extra bottle of tint was thrown in the drawer never to be tried out , well not until a few days ago . As I rummaged through my makeup Drawer the Cha Cha Tint literally jumped out at me and for some reason I decided to try it out in hope that the same accident that happened many years ago with the cheek tint from Models Own would not happen again. I have to admit that when I opened up the bottle , I was a little uneasy as the shade seemed very mango orange , but non the less I carried on with giving it a try and began to apply a couple of dabs of the tint onto my trusted blending brush. Granted , trying it on my lips was the last of my interest, I was more interested in how it worked on my very pale cheeks. (This pregnancy is making my skin so dry and I do not feel the glow this time around) I have always used powder blush or even mousse as a blush previously so liquid seemed a little daunting , especially after my last little mishap but I think Benefit may have switched my thinking. Benefit Says - ''This mango-tinted stain beautifully blushes lips & cheeks with a tropical sunset hue. Smooch-proof & smudge-proof, this sheer stain will have you looking deliciously sun-kissed for hours''. Here Is what I have to say - For starters, the packaging is adorable. I love how cute and handy it is and because it comes with its own application brush , it makes it easy to take with you on those nights away or even holidays. The bottle has a gorgeous gold reflective body and the brush is exactly what could be expected from a nail polish . I am not sure what I was initially expecting but the texture but it is a little runny but with a slight thickness so not to have it running all over the place. Quite creamy actually. The feel of it is smooth on the skin and there is no sign of tackiness at all . I found the application process very easy although I did try it two separate ways to see which I preferred for simplicity. 1- Add three small dabs on your cheek bones then use your finger tips to gently dab it into an upwards movement towards the edge of the face. 2- Using a blending or foundation brush , apply a couple of dabs straight on to the brush then blend into the cheek bone as you would normally blend in your blush. For me the Brush worked so much better and it felt easier . Using my finger tips gave me an uneven tone so I would recommend using a brush . The tint dried instantly and I had no tackiness left over. I think I was expecting a brighter tone , but in reality it was quite natural and I was pleased that it was quite subtle . The tint can stain your finger tips if you use this way to apply it so I would recommend cleaning it as soon as possible to reduce the stain but this is a great thing for your cheeks as it stayed on my cheeks for the full day with no fading . Because you only need a small amount the price of £24.50 is not bad as it will last quite a while but I would prefer to buy a true powdered blush instead of this due to my own preferential liking. I do however love the gorgeous coral shade and creamy texture and will be using it more often in the upcoming spring. Just for the fun of it, I did eventually give the lip staining a try , here is how it turned out with this Cha Cha tint........ So what are your thoughts on Staining tints, do you think they work as well or do you prefer your powder blush ?
Ok so the girls makeup collection gets so much bigger as you come to realise how fun it is to collect, but what about the main ingredient you need to add to your perfect application of your most loved makeup? Since being a teenager Ii remember not even buying makeup brushes , I simply preferred to use my fingers and still do with some aspects of application such as highlighters but I now try to use a brush and recently those magical sponge applicators. W7cosmetics.co.uk have a lovely range which have been attracting me to getting some myself and I have ended up with three of them in my makeup case which Ii think you would be interested in seeing. First up we have....... The Sponge Application Brush available for £3.95 I have to be honest, I hate the huge trending thing with the beauty blender . Everyone makes it so easy looking to achieve but in reality they must have either three tons of foundation on their sponge to get that thick perfected look or they simply have perfect skin and in need of very little makeup to start with, that or they have spent forever practicing with the sponge . I did think this would be very similar to the beauty blender and it is , so it was no shock when it arrived and I gave it a whirl to find that it does apply foundation but not as easily as my foundation brush . It was lovely and soft to use, the sponge bounced well on the skin but for me personally, I found it difficult to work with without looking like I had three layers of foundation on even when I did blend it for forever. It was however perfect for blending in concealer as only a small amount is needed in a small area and the different angles on the brush make it easy to navigate around the eye area. Not only did I find that it was a nightmare to use, but I also found it a huge waste on my expensive foundation as I lost half of the product in the sponge itself . I hate waste......... For me I am definitely staying away from the sponge , it just is not for me , but if your a fan of the beauty blenders then I would suggest giving it a try . Next up .... The Eyeshadow brush 01 available for £3.95 I have to be honest , I find these eyeshadow brushes best suited for the under brow high lightening and this is exactly what I have been using mine for as it gives that perfect angle for the brow bone touch ups. The brush is flat with synthetic hairs and this is why it makes the perfect brush for blending harsh edges . I found this lovely and soft on the lid and perfect for those higher pigmented shadows. Last but not least... Smudger brush available for £3.95 This brush (well sponge) has two sides to it. One side is white and the other is a salmon pink shade .
This reminds me of those free makeup applicators you used to get as a child in your makeup palette and to be fare it looks exactly the same but it feels very different. The sponge is amazingly soft and smooth and I have found this the perfect smudger for that that bottom lid of the eye for those striking colour mixes. Perfect for the smokey eye which I wear regular. For me , makeup will always an addiction and the makeup application need that be brush or sponge will always be a need in my regime but how do you prefer to apply your makeup ? Follow my blog with Bloglovin I thought I would share with you one of my new Makeup Brush's today. Take a peak - Urban Decay Double Ended brush from the Naked Flushed Line. What they say about this - Our ultimate accoutrement for the Naked Basics palettes, this versatile brush is really two brushes in one! On one side: a shadow smudger brush. On the other: a shadow blender brush. Apply shadow all over. Blend, smudge and line. This indispensable brush does it all. The white-tipped bristles make it easy to see how much colour you’re picking up. (No more accidentally putting too much product on and having to remove it.) Cost - £23.00 Available from Debenhams.com As many of you may already have guessed, Urban Decay have become one of my most loved Brands and because I was getting those amazing brush's in the Naked Palettes and was rather impressed by them, this was one of the treats that had to be bought. This amazing brush is for Contouring , sculpting and blush and in my opinion is a very handy brush to own. The brush fibres are cruelty-free,vegan and made with a super soft synthetic derived from recycled materials but don't let yourself think that because the word recycled is in there that this is going to be a harsh brush with bristles that fall out . This brush is so amazingly soft and the bristles of the brush are tightly secured int he sleek steel handle. I cant believe how amazing this brush is , well ok, I can as I am falling more in love Urban Decay each time I get something new. Even down to the packaging, its impressive, to e the packaging is a fantastic case for the brush if your anything like me and like to keep the boxes lol, I love how its sturdy enough to use after opening. The shape of the brush makes it perfect for blending and with the ends being slightly smaller than average it makes it easier to get into places like the sides of the nose to contour and to give more defined sculpting to the face. This is the fluffy angled brush which can be used with blush or bronzer and when they say it is fluffy, it is most certainly one of those brush's you just want to brush across the surface of your face. The other end is perfect for using as a highlighting brush especially for the top of the cheekbones , forehead and top of the lip area as it is sleek enough to lightly apply where ever needed.
I am very impressed by my first (non free from a naked palette) brush and I am now looking to treat myself to some more. Do you like to use brush ,finger or sponge to apply your makeup? |
