So as you may be realising , since my husband treat me to my first ever Urban Decay product , The Naked 3 Palette , last summer , I have become almost obsessed by their Naked line and having the Naked Skin Ultra Definition also , the only way to go is now to add to the what will soon be my collection of Most loved makeup products. The hype over the Urban Decay Naked palettes have become increasingly popular and for me I do not usually follow the craze but this time I have to admit , I have and not only have I bought the 3rd and 2nd but also added the 1st to my Christmas list and to my surprise it was under my tree so I have all three and not no other palette compares. I have heard so many people tell me how there are other brands that have duped the palette and I have tried two of them , honestly do not believe them, I do not get payed to review for any brand or company , I do it because I am honest and do not wish for you to waste your money even if it is a pound , my honesty is not deterred by a couple of freebies or few quid in the pocket, (and that is not all bloggers but I do feel some do this ) when they say they are exactly the same, they are not . Yes they may be the same shades and colours, but the quality and longevity of them will not be the same at all so by the time you pull out for a couple of the cheaper palettes to save a few quid , I will still have the original that has barely touch pan. The Naked Palettes can be bought form my choice of makeup stall in Debenhams and If you have had an experience with the lovely ladies already you will understand that they always make you feel fabulous and welcome and that is in all the stores in the North east , England that I have been to . I have to give them the up most gratitude as the numerous times my husband has been to the store asked them to help him and gave him the products that I only wished for . In fact it was only Xmas Eve, One of the busiest times of the year when my husband popped out , never told me where he was going and the next thing I knew I had an unexpected call from what claimed to be Urban Decay in Debenhams store Metrocentre in Gateshead. The lady began by telling me she had seen my blog and wanted to ask a few questions . My husband had obviously been playing it cool but had no idea what to get me so asked the lady at the stall to help so came up with a cunning plan to try and make me believe this was just a random call. I never actually told the lady any details in to what products I had on my wishlist to truly test them both what products would end up in my stocking Christmas day but past experiences with them led me to believe I had nothing to worry about. I knew straight away what was going on but I went along with it and within half an hour my husband rang me back telling me he was on his way home . He returned and ran straight to our bedroom where I heard him fidgeting with sellotape , bows and wrapping paper and Christmas morning there were 9 Little parcels with my name on it under the Christmas tree. I was so excited OMG ,,,,,,,,Look at those shades. The thing I love about the Naked Palettes is the fact that anyone can wear these, They are natural and able to be worn by anyone who wants that NAKED LOOK, but not only can you get the natural look but you have shades in there that can be applied to glam your look up for those special occasions. I actually use my palettes daily , for the neutral day look and also for the glam evenings out smokey eye look with my husband . The palette costs only £37.00 Here is what they say about this palette - You demanded “MORE NAKED!”—and Naked2 delivers. From luminous shades with shimmer and sparkle to our smoothest mattes imaginable, Naked2 is packed with 12 never-boring taupe-hued neutrals (including a gorgeous grayish brown, a glittery copper and Urban Decay’s lewdest, blackest black). Expand your Naked range to create even more sultry neutral looks, smoky dramatic looks and everything in between. The case has an art-school inspired look with hinged lid—taupe metal with embossed chocolate brown artwork. It's smooth, modern and cool to the touch—a real tactile experience. Naked2 includes a professional-quality, cruelty-free double-ended shadow/blending brush AND an Eyeshadow Primer Potion sampler with resealable samples of all four formulas (original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Ageing). Each sample holds about a week’s worth of Primer! Yes that is right you get one months worth of primer free with this palette . The shades are like I said , neutral with the odd one that can bring some definition and glam to your look if worn or applied in a certain way , just take a look at the names . The 12 Shade Descriptions:

I love the packaging of the Naked palettes, both 2 and 3 have a metal casing which locks shut securely and although my cases are looked after with the up most care , and no chance of been dropped as I treat them like buttefly wings, I have no doubt that if I did drop them , they would stand the bounce and have no effect on the beauty inside. Having a wipeable case is also a plus for me, I hate nothing more than textured , fabric palettes that become dirty with the powders enclosed and not being able to clean them , I have actually taken mine in my weekend bag away , it was perfect for my whole weekend looks. You only get three Matte shades in this palette but the other shimmers vary between almost matte to high shimmer which makes this such a fantastic palette to have, you get the perfect mix of neutral shades that blend well and work well with each other, honestly I keep mixing them up to give them all a try and they have a great mix and match concept that it really does not matter which you choose they will always look fabulous together or separately alone. So there you have it, what do you think of the Naked 2 Palette from Urban Decay, are you tempted?
For me I never thought it could get better but wait until you see my next post , if you love sparkle , you are going to be buying this as one of the must haves in your makeup case, honestly and guess what , its another from this brand.

Last year I bought my first foundation that was high end but recently the weather changed which in turn changed the condition of my skin. Foundations were clinging to every single flake of dry skin and no matter what I applied beforehand, the foundation ended up looking patchy. Not only had my skin become dry but because of the winter sun not giving me much colour and my skin lightening up a little more than the summer had given me , the foundation I had previously bought was now a shade or two darker than I needed . It was most certainly time for a new Foundation and so on our Day out before Christmas , shopping for the children's Christmas presents , my husband stopped me to look at the Urban Decay stall in Debenhams knowing I can not help myself every time. He asked me what I needed and the lady sat me down ready to give everything a whirl. The first choice was The Naked 2 Palette because I had actually started to buy collection backwards so did not have it (I will share my review with you soon on that) but the next obvious choice was some new foundation. I wanted something light, something natural looking but able to build up for those special occasions if ever I got the chance to go to any and even more importantly something a little more affordable than the previous one. The lady Primed my face then came to me with this ......... Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup in shade 3.5. Cost - £27.00 Available from Urban Decay What do they say about this product? ''It feels like you’re wearing nothing, yet Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Liquid Makeup transforms the look of your complexion. Skin looks illuminated and bright with a luminous demi-matte finish Light-diffusing spheres help provide a visible reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blurring imperfections to make you look as if professionally retouched Naked Skin Liquid Makeup comes in a range of meticulously calibrated shades''. Ingredients - Aqua (Water/Eau), Cyclopentasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Silica, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Litchi Chinensis Pericarp Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Tribehenin, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Dimethicone/PEG-10/15 Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Polyglycerin-3 Crosspolymer, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate, Polysorbate 20, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Propylene Glycol, Carbomer, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol. My thoughts - To be honest the lights in the store never give me a great example of how the makeup will look at home so when they ask me how it looks I always nod my head and say thank you, purchase the item then give it another try at home . Considering I had never used anything from Urban Decay other than their eyeshadows from the Naked range , I was very pleased with the formula. The shade 3.5 matched my skin perfectly and although the shade looked darker in the bottle and on the back of my hand, it blended as if by magic to match my skin in seconds. The formula is so lightweight just as true as the description says and it did not feel cakey on the skin at all. Not having to wait for the foundation to dry because it literally dried as soon as it blended in seconds , I was happy to see that it was non sheen and gave me a healthy glowing finishing look. My skin looked even toned and it settled well on the skin and because I have combination skin, I worried about streaking or snudging but it layed well on my skin and I got a flawless coverage , well in my eyes, the best I have ever had . Using the Urban Decay Setting spray , This lasted me all day , but to be honest Ii did try this without it and it was just as fantastic . The true test was when I answered my phone at the end of the evening and looked at the screen afterwards, With my previous foundation (which was a big named brand and cost me £30 may I mention) actually came off on my screen but this did not , I had no worry of it wiping of onto my clothes or my phone which made it even less embarrassing than it had previously made me before. I always , no matter what primer I have on or how moisturised I have been before my makeup application, always had dry patches around the nose area and the centre of my forehead but this foundation does not pick up any of that and in fact hydrates my dry areas and that helps . There are many different shades available in this foundation and I am so pleased that there was a perfect shade for me as I usually have to mix two foundations together to get one that works well . The thing that wins me over though about this product is that it actually does luminise your face in the right areas without making your skin look oily . it lightens my highlighted areas well and brightens up my whole face. I only need one pump of the lid to get enough product out of the tube which covers my whole face. The only problem for me is that this liquid is quite watery , so you wil find that the liquid actually runs down your hand if you are not quick enough to apply. I actually prefer to apply this with a brush but I have found that using your finger tips around the under eye helps deter from over using the liquid . For me , my first experience with Urban Decay Face product Naked skin has been a delightful one and I am very impressed with its long lasting on my skin. It suits my skin perfectly and looks natural unless you purposely try to build it for that full cover finish.
I have been totally transformed and although I was a fan before of this brand , I am certainly even bigger of a fan now and looking forward to building my collection from them . What do you think of the Naked skin liquid , have you given it a try ? Let me know in the comments below. So if you are anything like, me then you will always be in need of new makeup brushes, they seem to gather together like an untidy mass in my stands but there is certainly always room for more . Last week I received an amazing parcel from a brand I have not tried before ''Spectrum''. Previously , I have spent a small fortune on makeup brushes and believe me they can be quite expensive but my last set was actually bought 2 whole years ago and so this Christmas , I was hoping to get some new ones but knowing the prices of some of the leading brands , I actually never got round to treating myself to some and I have to wait till after Christmas before I can go on my shopping spree , a present from my husband which will be late this year due to the fact I am buying him his new puppy this year and he needs to buy all the bits and bobs . The brushes I was mostly in need of were actually the face contouring type, I recently bought a new foundation brush but I needed a new buffing brush, an angled brush for giving my face depth and dimension . I have been struggling with the mini brushes for so long now its hurting my hands so my luck was definitely in when these came to my door. This is the 4 piece contouring face set from Sprecturm. You can purchase these from Spectrum Cost - £24.99 Who are Spectrum? Spectrum specialise in supplying makeup brushes, but not just any makeup brushes, applicators and tools. They supply bold and beautiful looking products, not all brushes have to look the same and plain. All of Spectrums brushes are Animal and Vegan friendly and are hand finished and then composed with only the highest quality of synthetic hair so you are ensured that you are getting the softest touch on your skin. At the moment their Makeup brushes are a baby pink handle with a stunning baby blue bristle and on the tips its blended to a stunning shade of purple , to me these brushes look fantastic and I am sure you will agree . Thy will look gorgeous in their bag, a tumble or even scattered across your dressing table . What they say about their product - For a truly flawless look you need to start by creating a beautiful base. Use our 4 Piece contour set to do just that. The Flat Top Buffer is the perfect way to start, use it to get an even all-over coverage using a cream or powder foundation, use a slightly lighter tone for the central areas of the face to get a natural looking 'glow'. Then work with the Domed Buffer to give an airbrushed finish by lightly buffing the skin all over, the best way to make sure the foundation layer is worked into the skin and won't budge all day. The Angled Blush is then used to create angles and add depth to cheekbones and under the jaw, with a darker tone than your natural skin colour. Finally add the finishing touches with the Tulip Powder, but adding a darker shade around the hairline and temples, and applying the final touch of highlight across the brow bone, nose, and chin. Perfect. My thoughts on these makeup brushes -
I am absolutely loving these brushes and to be honest I thought that they were very affordable compared to previous I have purchased. The bristles are amazingly soft on the skin and I have yet to find any run away hairs coming loose , even when washing . I have found that they wash very well in fact , and they dry quite quickly to which is a bonus. Getting 4 of your main brushes for only £6 each when bought as the set is an absolute steal and because there is not one brush that won't be used it is most certainly a fantastic set . The handles are lovely in the hand, smooth and chunky , just how I like them . Perfect for anyone wanting their first starter makeup brush set. Spectrum have some other amazing sets , I have my eyes set on the fantastic 16 piece deluxe eye and lip set which only costs a bargain of £39.99 which I am in dyer need of due to the fact that I lost my shadow and brow brushes in storage when the roof was being fitted. It is an array of different brushes that will fit my needs perfectly . How do you like the look of these brushes, have you given them a try already, what do you think. OK you all should know me by now in the fact that one colour I can never turn away from is Purple in all its shades. There is something about it that I just love every time of the year but especially in the Christmas season and this year I have a new addition to add to my Makeup . Lets take a look - ''PURPLE HAZE PALETTE'' Cost - £5.95 Available from w7cosmetics.co.uk What they have to say about the product - ''Purple Haze is an eye shadow palette featuring 4 shades of Purple''. I have seen so many looks lately on catwalk and social networking sites such as Instagram featuring peoples favourite shades this season and Purple seems to have made the biggest impact along with gold and paired together , I have to admit its stunning . I have never worn W7 makeup , if anything it has always been their polishes for nails that have caught my eye but recently realising they have more to offer , I took a look at what was available and wow there are a few items I am very interesting in trying now such as the In the Night eye shadow palette and their Absolute Mascara which have caught my eye . They also have a skin care range too and the eye makeup remover definitely looks affordable and a fantastic range of Hair chalks which look great also. There is definitely a fantastic selection from head to toe from W7, so who has already got this palette and what do you think of it? here are my own thoughts . I would like to say that although my very first w7 makeup item , I am quite impressed with the shades, they are varied well and for this time of year or a special occasion like we all have upon us, this is just perfect for a subtle to bold blend on the eye. In my opinion the shade purple on the eye seem to be rather catching especially in the smokey effect which is the look I wear quite often . The double ended sponge applicator is , (for me) something that would not be used, I prefer a bristle brush , but this is something that will come in handy when the children try to steal my unused makeup and brushes , my brushes are out of their reach just like the makeup collection to hide from them. I learned to hide my makeup and brushes after finding my son painting with one of my well known sets which cost quite a lot and he also ruined one of my most loved brow compacts (mistake learned). Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Polybutene, Synthetic Wax, Paraffinum Liquidum, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Tin Oxide, Diethylhexyl Syringylidenemalonate / Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, +/- CI 77019, CI 77891, CI 77499, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77007, CI 77742, CI 75470, CI 77510, CI 77266, CI 15850:1, CI 16035] - In the palette there are four shades -
I like that the shades are all able to be used at once here is how they compliment each other- The shadows are buildable so you can have that subtle look or even a smokey if your wearing it for an evening out. The shadows are very soft and you can get a lot of fallout if you are a little heavy handed in applying your eye shadow (another reason why I prefer to use a bristle ended brush).
The darker shade has a lot of fallout especially so I thought I would warn you to be careful in case you decide to give it a try. Surprisingly for me , I found these shadows well pigmented and you only need a small amount to get a lovely shade applied. The W7 Purple Haze Palette is an affordable compact and ideal to have in your collection. Why did I want to review this item? For me , makeup never used to be a big thing, but lashes were always my struggle and downfall when out and about shopping. I have been known very well for going to the shop for some new makeup and coming back with nothing more than 15 packs of fake lashes and I have good reason too. Since being small , I can always say that my eye lashes are pretty much non-existant . I do not have the money to keep visiting salons to get them done and so buying the boxes to apply myself from a store is the cheaper and more appealing option for me. Not only do I get to choose from the various shapes and designs that fake lashes offer me, and I can swap the look of my eye daily by changing them from bold to natural looking whenever I feel like it , I also do not have the worry of spending a fortune to do so . Over the years I have found that there are many brands offering so many options but some have been found to be better than others. In my opinion it always comes down to the glue that you apply the lashes to the eye lid with. Sometimes the lashes can be too thick and hard to curve to the shape of the eye also, For me I find that using the fake lashes that have no band around the glue area of the lashes work best and this also means they curve better to fit the eye more precisely . Who are Lets Go Lashes? Lets Go Lashes if you have not guessed already are a false lash brand that are sold with in the Nouveau / Beauty Group website. The Let's Go Tease Striplash Range are described as seductive, intensive and ruthless and they transform your eyes into gorgeous, smouldering man-magnets. ''Ok for me , I am in no need of attracting any male , I am happily married, but my little peep holed eyes do need a little help in opening up sometimes so they become one of my must have accessories in my makeup bag''. Lets Go Lashes have a vast amount of ranges in various different styles -
Each different range has 9-10 different styles within each range and costs £6.50 each . Each box comes with a pair of lashes and an adhesive glue to apply them with. You can buy the Ultrabond strip lash Adhesive for only £12.95 , which is excellent if you like to re use your lashes like I do. Although you do get a small tube of glue to apply your lashes with , This Full size adhesive glue is worth buying as an extra in case you lose them or if your anything like me and throw the small tube away when the box goes in the bin after using the lashes. How to apply. If you would like to see how easy they are to apply please take a peak at the video provided by Nouveau as an example. How I found the Lets Go Lashes. I always ensure that my hands are clean and my eyes lids have been washed to remove any dirt or oils that naturally build up around the area during the day. The next step is ensuring that the lashes are measured to fit my eyes and by doing so I usually use a small pair of scissors to remove three of the lashes from the inner side of the false lash strip before applying them. I then used the box which the Lets Go Lashes were supplied in to place a very tiny amount of adhesive onto to then carefully dip the strip lash into it making sure it only covers the line on the lashes which is going to be applied to the lash line. I then let the adhesive go a little tacky , so I wait till around 15 seconds before applying them to the lash line . I found the lash easy to bend to my eye shape and pressing the Lets Go Lashes onto the eye lid lash line ensuring that I had payed extra attention to the inner and outer edge of them , I was happy with them feeling secure . The adhesive glue is white and you can see it when you apply it , but do not worry , this dries clear. What do you think of the enhanced lashes? The Lets Go Lashes were very lightweight, easy to shape to the eye and having the very discrete strip makes it easier to blend in with the rest of the eye makeup. I wore my lashes for the whole day and not once did I feel the worry of them falling of or coming loose at the edges even with the watery eyes after the terrible winds we endured over the weekend. In fact after the blistering winds had my eyes watering so bad, the majority of my eye makeup was non-existant yet the lashes stayed in place . I always buy the big and bolder lashes , these were most definitely the ones I would buy normally , they were so natural looking and I loved the effect it had on the look on my eye.
''Tease in option 1.'' Having the option to add that extra umph to my lashes , gives me a great smile on my face, no matter what the rest of my face looks like, I always feel confident in longer lashes and for me the Lets Go Lashes were a total success. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for longer , more natural looking lashes. What is your thoughts on false lashes, do you prefer to apply them yourself in the comfort of your own home or have someone else do them in the comfort of a salon? |
