Skin care has become something I now realize to be very important in my every day routine .
It was only 4 years ago I really started getting into a good regime where I cleanse, tone and moisturize daily and I seen the effects instantly helped my skin glow and replenish .
Over the years , my skin has had an outbreak due to the change of area we moved to recently, the water is a lot harsher than where I've lived previously and it has definitely effected the look of my skin, especially on my face.
My skin was always blemish free and it has only taken 1 year for that to drastically change and my skin now has red, flaky areas around my nose which are seriously bothering me and effecting my confidence.
My skin is very thirsty , it always has been and I'm used to that so a thick cream was always needed yet now my skin needed something more and my usual cream was no longer working for me so I was very happy when Sk:n got in touch and asked me if I would give their creams a try.
I had not heard of this brand before so I very open to hope that it would help my red blotchy areas disappear although optimistic and a little scared like I always am trying new things.
I actually then found out just one week after receiving my creams that Sk:n have many clinics and one of them was at a hospital we were attending at James Cook in Middlesbrough.
To be honest the word clinic scares me , I often think of unnatural and harsh chemicals but I was surprised how kind these creams were and they certainly did not smell harsh like others I have come across.
Knowing they were used in a large hospital made me feel comfortable that they were friendly to use on my skin.
The packaging was very fresh and clean looking in its crisp white bottles and tubes and I actually loved how simple they appeared . It made me able to see exactly what it was needed for , what was in them and I felt safe being able to see it clearly .
Sk:n Sun screen SPF 30 , 100ML - £22.25
Every Year I use sun cream , but I have to admit that I do not use it as often as I should .
I made the mistake of only wearing sun cream when I was not wearing makeup and now I understand that using a sun cream daily is essential.
I've now replaced my daily cream with the Sk:n restore and protect Sunscreen which means my skin is protected and It also makes a wonderful moisturized base for my makeup to be applied if needed to.
The sunscreen is lovely and thick to the touch but blends well and easy into the skin making it dissolve instantly without leaving a sticky residue which I find with other brands of sun care products.
There is a slight scent to the cream but nothing overpowering and in fact I was surprised to find it had a clean aroma and not that of a chemical based skin care product which you would normally expect from a clinical brand.
I have seen a dramatic change in my skin since using this for the past month with help from their cleanse and exfoliate range added alongside it .
Sk:n Facial Exfoliating Cleanser for all Skin types , 200ml - £28.00
Their facial exfoliating cleanser states it is for all skin types so is gentle for even the most sensitive of skins which was great due to the fact that my skin felt very sore on the red blotchy patches where my skin was peeling.
I love cleansers but they tend to be very milky usually and I for one love a thick cream on my thirsty skin so I was relieved to find this was a lovely thick based cleanser .
My skin loved it instantly and in fact took a little time to take it in . I felt like my face and neck area was getting a thorough clean but more importantly to me the moisture was still there, not stripping the essential oils form my face.
I usually find gritty parts in my exfoliation cleansers but this was not like any other I had tried at all. I t really did cleanse my skin and although I could not feel an exfoliation happening , I felt like I had had a full facial by the time I had rinsed it all of .
It was so gentle I felt refreshed and I definitely think this along with the sun cream has helped my skin become more cleared dramatically over the past month as the big red blotch that was on my nose area has now completely disappeared .
Sk:n Brightening and firming eye cream, 20ml - £25.50
The last product was something I do not usually use but with all the sleepless and restless nights I really should with the blacks under my eyes .
I have to be honest I am terrified of putting anything near my eyes as they are very sensitive to creams and other things I have used .
Due to them sending me the age defying brightening and firming eye cream I decide to give it a try. I loved the look of it and the fact that it dispensed a tiny amount which is all that was needed at a time making it less likely to waste any product.
The cream was lovely to feel on the skin and smoothed into my skin perfectly but unfortunately it was just to much for my eyes and I was in complete agony that I could no longer carry on using it . I was rather upset that this was unlike the their products. The sunscreen and cleanser were so gentle and helped my skin immensely but this was not so gently for me.
So for the products I have tested over this past month , I have been very impressed with two of the products out of the three .
My skin has changed its appearance, it is a lot more cleaner and clearer and it has a more refreshing glow .
The blotchiness has now disappeared and I feel so much more confident in my skin .
Thankyou to Sk:n for sending me these products .

Sunkissed have always been one of my suppliers of fake tan because it is kind to the skin, contains no parabens and also for the fact I actually enjoy the scent.
Not only does it give me the perfect , natural glowing tan but with the help of their Application Mitts, tanning has become a very easy regime leaving me streak free and the best thing about the whole process is it only takes seconds to apply without staining your hands giving the whole secret of your gorgeous tan away to others.
Sunkissed Tanning products can be found and available from Sunkissedbronzing.co.uk
Sunkissed Medium Tan - £4.99
Double Sided Application Mitt - £4.99
This time around , Sunkissed have come up with a new double sided application mitt which promises to make tanning a little easier without the need for swapping or fidgeting about trying to get the right side of the mitt in place.
The new Mitt has a patented barrier technology which prevents the product from leaking through to your hands .
I have to be honest in saying I never actually had a problem with the other Sunkissed mitt , in fact I loved the soft fleece side to it .
The new mitt has that full foam look and the inside feels very much more protected so I can see that the tan will not get through onto my skin.
I can feel the added barrier .
Just like any other tanning regime, I add the Tanning mousse straight onto the mitt then onto the skin , this way I have no need to touch the tanning product at all .
The mitt does not leak at all and my hands are left clear of any product , just as needed the only place I see tan is on my legs where I applied it .
First of all let me show how lilly white my legs are.
They are a lovely shade of milk but being summer (although no sign of sunshine yet) , I do need a little colour .
I need to add that I always exfoliate and shave beforehand and in this case it was two whole days . I do not moisturise but if you suffer with dry skin then I would recommend dabbing a little on those areas before placing the tan on.
I am not sure if it is just the fact I felt a little bendy while applying, but for me I only needed to use one side of the mitt which defeats the whole object really but I suppose if I was in a hurry or unable to twist my arm so much I would see why it is needed.
No matter how much product was applied , the mitt still held that barrier and I was able to build the tan up with no problems at all.
For the purpose of this post, I wanted to share with you how the application finished from start to finish and so I only applied one one layer.
Just as expected the tan went on streak free.
The change in mitt has not made the mitt defect in any way and In my opinion makes the mitt easier to clean afterwards as I can see clearly where it has been washed .
If you hand clean the mitt straight afterwards with soap and warm water , it will come up just as new and able to be reused again at a later date when needed.
My conclusion on this new Double Sided Application Mitt is that for me it is unnecessary as I do not need both sides but would be prefect for those who like to hurry their application as it makes tanning a lot quicker .
Using it is simple and easy and it does exactly what it says so you do not need to worry about excess tanning product leaking onto your skin.
The price is a little more than I would like but considering the Tanning product itself is a bargain you would still save money buying them as a pair .
Having the soft material against the skin makes it silky to use and does not snag or irritate the skin either this helps smooth the product on evenly.
I will be using this mitt as often as I tan . I am very pleased with the outcome .
There is something about body butters that become rather addictive .
I love how easily they go on my skin and melt immediately and the scents that come from the Body shop body butters always make me want more .
The body butter I wanted to share with you today is one that Ii can not actually find on their online store no more but they still do the collection and I for one recommend it for the scent alone as well as the added benefit of the softness it leaves my skin feeling when I use it .
When I was little my mum always used just one scent and it was White Musk from the Body Shop. Each year I would ask what she wanted for her birthday and Christmas and each answer was the same.
''Just get me a bottle of the White Musk Oil perfume please''
So every year I did and my mum smelt of White musk and that is the scent I remember her by .
It is more a memorable scent for me and each time I get a lovely whiff of White Musk , I think of her and when I got this , I found myself adding it onto my skin to get that aroma with added happy memories of mum.
The difference with this scent is that the original was the basic White Musk with a mix of notes including musk, lily, rose and vanilla but this also has a floral musk with sweet notes of Turkish delight, baby orchid and Chantilly cream.
To me the scents are very familiar to each other and I absolutely adore it.

I never used to be a fan of highly scented Girly products, In fact I was always more drawn to the masculine scents but since around three years ago , my love for the florals and fruity scents have grown and that was all thanks to another body butter from Body Shop which was the amazing Satsuma body butter .
Since then , my love for this brand and the scents have rapidly grown into my own little world of delight.
A lot of body creams and butters leave a scent for a short while but it is rare that I can get the aroma through out the whole day , body butters from this brand especially never seem to amaze me that even the day after applying I can still smell them.
I would definitely wear this all year round, I find it is a scent that is accepted in all weathers and times of day.
You do not need a lot of this body butter either, A little goes a very long way and it spreads easily onto the skin without leaving any greasy residue behind but instead you get amazingly soft and subtle skin.
This rather large tub is lasting me forever .
Do you have a favourite Body butter ?
Yes the time has come to start changing my skincare routine and the reason being is that my skin has changed during this pregnancy meaning I need to swap my daily routine and in my wonderful drawer I found this amazing set which I received the other month at the beginning of my pregnancy and decided to keep for the moments like this.

Deep Cleanse Balm -
100% Organic and Natural Cocos Nucifera (virgin coconut), Mangifera Indica (mango butter), Helianthus Annuus ( sunflower) Hybrid oil, Calendula Officinalis (rosemary) extract, Santalum Spicatum (albany sandalwood) oil, Bosweilia Carterii (frankincense) oil, Origanum Vulgare (oregano) oil, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Eugenol, Farnesol, Citral.
My thoughts -
So using a cleansing balm is still a little of something new to me, I am used to using cleansers in the form of a liquid or foam but this one is in fact a balm as described.
This Balm is definitely one of my new favourite must haves.
The texture of this balm is actually very much more of a butter. As soon as it is placed onto the skin it immediately melts into the cells without leaving any greasy residue behind.
The scent is exactly to my taste.
I could not smell the coconut at all but once the balm melted into the skin I was instantly hit with an exotic aroma of coconut and mango which left me sniffing it even more.
My skin is left feeling Hydrated and clear of any impurities and I also feel more fresh with brighter looking skin.
I have been using this for a while now and have found it shoving my old routine cleansers out of the way , it has now taken pride in my morning and night routine collection and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves personalised cleansing balms.
The balm is quite some size to at 55ml and because you only need a very small amount this is sure to last you quite some time.
It has a 12 months life span on the bottle but I think with me using this morning and night (especially if I have worn makeup or been out for the day ) it may last me around 6 months .
Not only is the balm nourishing but it also moisturises my skin making me feel like I have had a luxurious treatment at a spa.
The Frankincense and Oregano have anti-bacterial and anti-ageing benefits whilst Sandalwood and Calendula will boost the immunity to starve off sensitivity and dryness.
With your Balm you receive a spatula which I personally think makes the set even more adorable .
Use the spatula to scoop the balm from the tub and onto your palm.
The balm will melt instantly and all you need to do now is to massage over the face and neck . I find using your fingertips easier to get into all of the little areas around the nose and gentle eye areas ,but using your palm is perfectly ok .
Using a muslin cloth (which also comes supplied) , dampen the cloth under some hot running water and them carefully sweep in an upwards motion from the neck and the outside of the face clearing the balm from your skin.
Night Time Cream -
89% Organic 100%Natural Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Theoroma Cacoa(cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, (Vegetable), Sucrose Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) Seed oil, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Triticum Vulgare (Wheatgerm),Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond) oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel, Verbascum Thapsus (Mullein Flower) Oil, Tocopherol, Coconut Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Lavendular Angustifolia, (Lavender), Citrus Bergamia, (Bergamot), Leptospermum Scoparium, (Manuka), Rosa Centifolia (Rose), Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Eugenol, Farnesol, Citral.
My thoughts -
I have never been a fan of thin creams but night creams have always been my most appealing due to the fact that they are usually thicker in texture meaning my very thirsty skin can benefit from them more.
This Night cream is amazingly thick but blends into the skin straight away.
After cleansing my skin at night , I follow with this night cream and my skin feels amazing afterwards.
I in fact have used this on some mornings too , especially those colder mornings where the weather does damage to my dry skin.
Having a fantastic blend of Shea and Cocoa butters, Jojoba and Apricot ensures my skin is balanced and deeply nourished , strengthened and also applied with Vitamins A, C and E.
The scent is a little more flower extract than the balm which I prefer for aroma but again , the scent is clean and fresh and stays well throughout the day.
Again like the Balm , this cream also has a 12 month life span on the tub but I think this will be used up in 6 months . I definitely think this would benefit me most during the winter with the added facial oil blended into it .
As this is my night time cream, I use this mixed with a small drop of the Facial oil mixed into it .
I apply a small amount to my palm , then apply to the face and neck , massaging in an upwards and outwards motion.
I let this soak in and allow the cream to work during my sleep.
Facial Oil -
Camellia Oleifera, (Camellia seed), Carthamus Tinctorius, (thistle), Oenothera Biennis, (Evening Primrose), Salvia Hispanica, (Chia seed), Avena Sativa, (Arctic Oat), Rosmarinus Officinalis, (Rosemary), Tocopherol, (Vitamin E), Lavendular Angustifolia, (Lavender), Citrus Bergamia, (Bergamot), Letospermum Scoparium, (Manuka), Rosa Centifolia (Rose), Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene.
My thoughts -
I have not used a facial oil lately due to the fact that although I have dry skin in the winter, my skin reacts badly and tends to be sore and with the not so natural ingredients in my previous product it irritated my skin .
Luckily for me , the ingredients in this facial oil are 100% natural so I know that every single ingredient once again is helpful for my skin .
I find that this oil is easily absorbed as the formulation is so light and with the high polyphenol content it frees radicals on the skins surface.
The Chia Seed is added into this product to improve skins elasticity and the Thistle Oil then regulates the skin Sebum Production and help reduce redness.
I am in love with this Facial Oil , it gives my skin everything it needs naturally and improves the softness as well as leaving my skin feel and look so much more healthier and brighter.
This facial oil is to be applied in mornings and afternoons before sleep.
I personally love to massage a small pea sized amount into the neck and face and pact it onto the points I feel need more attention such as the crows feet and forehead.
Applying this to my normal day and night creams on colder days helps even more to hydrate the areas effected by dryness but in summer this on its own is all I need .
All in all this amazing Organic Bespoke Skin care set for my face is everything my skin needs.
I am amazed and in love with the Cleansing balm especially and the Facial oil is used religiously each night to help with my maturing skin .
Would you prefer a specially formulated Skin care regime?
As you may have seen on my other posts in the past, I am always going on and moaning about how short and stumpy my lashes are .
I have never had lovely long lashes and to be fare it has always been a rather annoying part of my regime , especially when I was wearing false lashes everyday to try and enhance them.
Thing is , I merely think I have done more harm than good and now I don't have the time to apply those false lashes every morning , I am now on the look out for something that will help my natural lashes grow or become more fuller.
Over the past month I have been using the LiLash Eyelash Serum in replacement of my usual mascara, false lashes or fibre mascaras and here are my thoughts.
It was very easy to use, all I had to do was apply a thin layer of the serum on the eyelash line on my top lid each day .
I have heard that this has not been tested on pregnant ladies so unfortunately I am unable to keep applying it until afterwards but I did see a slight difference in the short time I had used it .
I love the packaging, its clean and crisp and silver always goes great on my vanity .
You get very precise with the thin brush making it easy to apply.
It says not to apply more than one application and not to apply them to the lower lash because it may cause irritation.
Some people have said that it does cause irritation but I have very sensitive eyes and mine were perfectly fine .
There is no strong odour so it does not sting the eye on applying which was my biggest concern.
The Demi is available for £53.95 but you can get the full size £94.37 from Lilash.com , to be fare it is very highly priced in my opinion , I know I would not buy this when it is empty.
They say that the serum is to enhance and transform your eyes but I think I need a little longer after my pregnancy to give it more of a try as I only see a small change , not exactly the wow factor I have seen on others results.
For me this is a little over priced even for the smaller Demi version although it does go a long way and will last a very long time but I am willing to keep trying in the hope it will lengthen my lashes some more .
I can see on the very last picture that it has given me some length , noticable at that and even lifted the lashes to enhance the effect of longer lashes .
See how I got on with the brow Serum soon.
What do you think about the serums, would you give them a try, have you, or do you do something else to enhance those gorgeous peekers of yours ?
